Tonight I came by in an emergency at 6:55 pm (they close at 7 pm) as the kid working was locking the door. Rather than let me in, he stared at me blankly through the windows like I couldn't see him. I yelled to ask if they were open and even tried to just get a thumbs up or down gesture from him in case he couldn't hear me. Ended up having to take my $174.38 order to Home Depot. Pretty frustrating.

When we're talking Howe's were really talking about what a real hardware store should be like. Not…read moreonly does it have everything that a hardware store should have, they also do everything like a hardware store should do, but most don't. They sharpen all sorts of blades, be they knife, scissor, chain or lawn mower, and fix not only all the things that they sell but even most of the things that don't sell. I've been using Howe's, a family owned operation since they first opened decades ago, having them repair all sorts of things from generators to chainsaws for me, and I've always been more than pleased with their friendly family type of service plus the good information they have given me concerning anything or any hardware problem I might have. They have everything from bird feeders, to rodent traps and from nuts to bolts to barbecue sets; way too many to list. This is a hardware store for which the big box hardware, such as Lowe's, shouldn't present any competition threat since the big box places can't even come close to the services provided by Howe's. I'm rating them Five Stars because as far as hardware and go services go, Howe's really is WooHoo! As good as it gets.
