Things were buzzin in Valor on a Friday morning. I arrived around 9a and it was pretty packed. I peeped a spot at the community table and I decided to drop my stuff before ordering. The young lady at the counter was pleasant and helped me with my order. I told her I didn't really want coffee and she made a nice suggestion -- London Fog. What made the visit even better, somebody paid for my drink! I was completely smitten. I was pretty inspired by my environment though it did get pretty busy around 10:30a, the line was almost to the door. If I'm ever back in the area, I'll def go back. Such a cute spot. read more

I don't know why it's taken me this long to finally draft up a review for Valor when my first visit was in 2023! I was super excited to finally get a REAL coffee shop in the neighborhood, especially since I have loved their Alpharetta location since 2020. Since then, I've been back a few times to meet friends for a cup of coffee or grab a bag of whole beans to go to make my own espresso at home! It's not the cheapest bag of beans but it's definitely freshly roasted and good quality! I love their seasonal bevs - I've tried their fall drinks like the Tokyo Drift (Applewood smoked cortado, orange blossom syrup, freshly grated nutmeg, orange peel) and the Spice is Right (Iced, spicy, creamy, coffee cocktail vibe with cold brew, hot honey syrup, vanilla bean and milk). You can easily sub out alternate milks, even on the seasonal specialty drinks. I appreciate the themes and play on the seasons. And also just simple but delicious drinks like the Nitro Lavender Vanilla Oat Latte. The seating can be a huge issue. I seem to always stumble in during peak, maybe? There seems to be plenty of space but no seating/tables. Many tables for 2 or 4 would be taken by 1-2 people studying/working all day, which is understandable but still frustrating. There is some outdoor seating (dog friendly, woohoo!) but is extremely vulnerable to the elements. Overall, I'm grateful for more local and noncommercial coffee shops in Dunwoody! Came here to kill time and get a chai before class. The ambience is very nice and neat, modern. Not too much homey decor, alot of white or neutral colors. Doesn't give cozy coffee shop, but more like young hipster cute industrial chic? Wouldn't recommend for studying or serious work, but good to catch up with a friend. It was fairly crowded and the inside was chatty on a Saturday afternoon. When I arrived there was a line, and I waited about 12-15 minutes before I could order. I ordered a chai latte and it was fine but.. and can't believe I'm saying this, but it was a bit too spicy. I never opened the cup but wondered how much milk was used because the spice was really overpowering. Not in a way that made me need a cup of cold milk, but in a way that made it taste really unbalanced, so I didn't like it too much. But I drank it because it was like 8 dollars and I didn't feel like waiting again to get something else. read more

We came here to try out another local Atlanta roaster and wow I was very impressed with the juicy fruity coffee. I'm not sure if it was a pour over or not as I wasn't paying attention to the barista while choosing my place to sit with the fam, but it blew my mind. I had heard about fruity flavored coffee, but had not tried it before. This experience was delightful. I also tried a few different shots of espresso. Valor has beautiful coffee presentation and a very pretty setup with outdoor seating, indoor bar seats, and free tables of pretty maple wood. Look forward to our next visit. read more

Located right in Dunwoody Village lies Valor Coffee. It's a very welcoming, modern, and open cafe. I wouldn't recommend it as a big study cafe though. There's wooden seats around the perimeter and one big community table. There is an outlet under the bar seating (one outlet per chair I think). Loads of free parking in the lot. I saw at the front that one of their specials was a peach gobbler: a peach compote cappuccino dusted with graham crackers. Sounds and looks delicious. It has like some type of citrus hint to it whereas the peach flavor isn't strong. I think the cappuccino overpowers it. The flavors weren't quite what I was looking for; it was advertised like a dessert, but I don't think the compote shines in this drink. The menu is very neutral color based. They also have a sheet up front that describes where their coffee blends are from (for all yall coffee nerds). They have some good seasonal drinks available that is fairly affordable and not overpriced. It's a busy cafe with the music and open ambience. For Black Friday, they were doing BOGO coffee boxes and 30% off merch. read more

Great service. Friendly staff. Chill environment. This was my first time here and first coffee ever in Georgia (visiting from Cali). This place did not disappoint for the coffee snob in me. When you walk into this coffee shop, you are met with extremely nice decor and a very airy environment. It seems like a very great work from home place and the vibes were really nice. I used to go to their Alpharetta location when I lived around there, but now this is the one I pass by more often. It's nice and spacious, and the employees are just as friendly as the original location. Drinks are good, with most of their coffees being on the fruity side (though they have ones that aren't!) Everything is made just right, their seasonal drinks are fun and playful, and even their matcha drinks are lovely. It's hard not to stop by when I'm in the area. This coffee shop was such a treat to find! Was in the area for a business trip and wanted to grab drinks from somewhere other than our usual hotel cafe. I was craving matcha as well so a coworker suggested this stop and we made a trip here and I'd def say it was a highlight. So this is a cute "local" coffeeshop with an national influencer or pop-up vibe - like, a logo and so much merch I thought for sure this was a project from Real Housewife or something. But no, just a cute logo and a LOT of merch. A LOT of seats, but also very popular! So be aware of that - in fact, so popular that by 2pm on Sunday THEY HAD NO FOOD. I can totally see how this could happen accidentally with some short inventory and supply and demand but also -- this TOTALLY shouldn't happen. Like, what?! The flavors and innovation on the drinks seem great, and 2 sizes are offered - 12 ounces and 16 ounces. BUT the mugs for dine-in are ONLY 12 ounce size, so I was still sitting there with a large paper cup, that incidentally did not state my order BUT the Valor barista folk did a good job knowing my order and getting it right. My chai latte with oat milk was delish; i did not want to spend more for more interesting drinks in case I didn't like it. BUT my older friends and I (wink - like, old enough to be parents to the 20-something baristas) were also kind of surprised at the loud music. Not sure if we felt welcome to have our book club chat. There were plenty of groups that made it work - even for homework or studying, and we were grateful to find a group of chairs together and the big table. We did leave to go check out the bookstore next store - I love bookstore / cafe combos and I hope these 2 make it work some day. Also the bathrooms are stupid big and are also storage closets. Full disclosure- I am not a coffee drinker nor have I ever been. That being said, this place is amazing! I had one of the best cups of hot tea I have ever had in my life. The atmosphere is cool and inviting without being off putting. There were several tables full of individuals meeting and working. Very inviting. The highlight of my visit was the staff. Looking across the community table I asked a young gentleman what he was having - & Nick introduced himself stating he worked there!! So I asked for recommendations instead. After asking what my go to drink is- Nick recommended the Caramel Cardamon and few of the seasonal options. I went with a hot caramel cardamom latte with oat milk! The shop has some seating inside, though it's on the smaller side, so it can fill up quickly. I tried the fall spice latte with almond milk, which was good, but I've had more flavorful versions elsewhere. Still, it was a nice, warming drink that hit the spot for a chilly morning. I've been to Valor a couple of times since moving to Sandy Springs and it's quickly becoming one of my favorite spots. At first I was skeptical, because the branding, layout, and decor scream "WHITE PEOPLE ONLY" but I was pleasantly surprised as each time I come I see more and more black people. The first time, I just tried my regular latte with lavender and mocha and it was pretty good. The next time I came a large man who looks like he could be one of Mumfords Sons recommended the matcha and it was outta this world! I gotta try it iced next time! But the absolute star of the show is the house nitro oat lav! OH MY LANTA!!! Girl - RUN DO NOT WALK to get that immediately. I ordered for an earl grey latte and a veggie croissant upon which I was given a number and asked to sit( I asked for in cafe). I got my food in good time but I was totally disappointed the moment I had my first sip and first bite. I asked for Earl grey latte and veggie croissant instead I got caffe latte and a butter croissant :(. I couldn't get hold of anyone as everyone was so busy helping others and couldn't let them know about wrong order as it was so busy. Walked out with disappointment :(. The Southern hospitality from the moment you walked in shouldn't go unnoticed. I felt so welcomed, and the staff was so friendly. I am so happy I stopped in along my route. The atmosphere was just so lovely as well. The parking was nice and easy as it's in a plaza with other businesses, so there was ample spots. They had a wide variety of food options along with delicious coffee options, so many flavors to choose from. I got the signature lavender vanilla latte and it was absolutely delicious. The pumpkin scone was also really good, they have a lot of seasonal items. All of their items were reasonably priced as well and of great quality. If you happened to be nearby, I would not miss an opportunity to check out this cute coffee shop. Very cool designed coffee shop tucked away and Dunwoody. Coffee is fantastic and the pastry ordered was very good too. Only drawback is long lines and they take quite a while to get orders ready as they are very personable and will have a conversation with customers in front of you so if you're running late to work, which I was make sure you give yourself a good 20 minutes or so to get your coffee and get on the way. read more
