Handy, challenging course in beautiful, quiet Willunga…read more Both the first nine and the back nine have a variety of terrains, pars and hole lengths with water hazards and gullies to navigate over. Birdlife is beautiful, as is the occasional kangaroo. Plenty of shade cover from ancient gum trees, well placed rest benches, bathroom, and bubblers on course. The average nine hole completion time is 2 hours and that is pretty much bang on how long it takes me to do a round. Fees are reasonable, course is in good condition, and there are training greens and driving cage for practice shots, as well as a driving range with magnificent views to the Mt Lofty Ranges. Come for twilight golf (after 4pm) and have the course almost to yourself!

this golf course was absolutely horrific to play on i lost a whole box of pro v1s in the stupid…read moreweeds that are all over the fairway im actually a 3 handicap and i got a 300 of the stick i got lost in the bushes and could not find my way back to the fairway i left my buggy on the path next to fairway and it was flipped when i finally made my way out the bushes i got 1 ball stuck in a tree tiger woods called me and said this was worst course he had ever seen i was playing with cam smith at the time there wasnt even a bar that i could get a drink at after this stupid game

'Golf is a good walk spoiled' - Mark Twain…read more Little do most people know about Mark Twain's fierce 'unsportsmanship' like behaviour. He only said that because he always ended in the rough. The Tea Tree Gully Golf Club is located at the leafy base of the Adelaide Hills in the North East. Now, I don't play golf (however I once got a par 3 by just hitting the ball along the ground, I just want you to know that) but my wonderful Pa does, and he plays here. I've actually known a fair few people that play here, and they are dedicated to it. Always long- term members and very consistent and regular players, the Tea Tree Gully Golf Club has a great reputation and as far as I've seen having walked around it, it looks kinda nice too. I can only really comment on the restaurant, Dimples where I've been for family dinners a few times and picked my parents up from their big christmas work functions, crazy cats. This place introduced me to the lamb shank and boy howdy did I enjoy it! The recently renovated restaurant still has quite an old outside but the inside is quite nice with good views onto the golf course. The food is quite delicious and cater for gluten free, however we have found that it is best to call them to ensure that they know a gluten free meal will be required. The hours I have put up for the club are for the dining area - which gives preference to functions and members, so call first! Apologies for not being able to comment on the standard of golfing greens but it is a nice place and a nice area to relax in!

The grounds are lovely and green, and it's quite a nice walk around the holes even if you're really not that keen on the game. Just yesterday evening I was required to suit up, shave down, dowse myself in cologne (deoderant is…read moreusually a struggle) and hide multiple cap guns about my person. Yes, I was off to a wedding with the reception being at Kooyonga Golf Club (The Height of Hoit and Toit). Having never been there before I was expecting silver service, wing back leather arm chairs, 25 year old conyac flowing from the taps and of course a lovely foreign person to freshen up my 'backside' should the need arise. None of the above occured, and hence my fake monocle went completely to waste! As I was at a function I will be reviewing thusly, and not the golf side of the club. Hors D'oeuvres were served upon our arrival on the decking overlooking the 18th hole. Very nice I might add! After which we were ushered into the main banquet room for din dins followed by tripping the light fantastic. The meals were of a very good standard, with my Prawn and Avacado Entree (not much to screw up there) and the Beef Fillet (served on a bed of this and that) being cooked perfectly. I would have liked slightly larger servings of each, but I guess it serves me right for only having 7 of the smoked salmon on piklet thingys served earlier. The service was very good and for the first time i have seen (except for when I used to run functions myself) they were running early! A very well drilled and friendly team of waiting and bar staff kept the night with no incedent and, although I am sure it wasn't cheap, I fully recommend it to any looking for a venue for a decent sized function.
