Even though the playground isn't the biggest or the best, it certainly does a good job of entertaining the little ones. If you are looking for a place for a birthday party, this would be it, at least people seem to think so. There are always children's birthday parties here and why not? There's a better-than-some playground with sheltered table/chair areas close to it. The toilet block is just a short walk away to the car park area and look at all that green grass! Worthy of a roll from even the biggest of kids, I think. I can't remember seeing a drinking fountain but I can't imagine this place without one. I'm sure there would be something near the BBQ. The playground has some shelter built into the design. It's not a lot but it's better than nothing. The Marion Coastal Walking track that meanders through the Hallett Cove Conservation Park is a…read morewonderful place for a scenic walk or an intense run. There are a lot of stairs so it most areas it is not wheelchair or limited mobility friendly. But is easy enough for anyone, even those with below average fitness. There are plenty of spots to sit and enjoy the view. In some places the silence can be deafening, in others the gentle waves lapping against the rocks sedating. For the runners - There's plenty of straight paths over looking the ocean that are intercepted in places by stairs up and down gullies and gorges. I find all of the wooden stairs to be nice and even and easy for running. Unfortunately there are spots on the dirt stairs that have eroded, are uneven and are not very easy to run at all. Some steps have eroded to the point that they are at knee height, and a new path has been trod around the stairs to avoid them. Pity that the wooden stairs are clearly well maintained but the earthen ones not. It took us 2 hours to walk from the Marino Rocks through Hallett Cove and back again. Loved every minute of it.

There's a variety of equipment; everything from a spinning egg cup (Amanda terminology lol), a flying fox, a climbing frame, as well as the usual slides and swings. The whole playground is bark chipped although there seems to be rubber under the swings that has been covered up by bark chip. There's a sheltered table/chair area which came in great need seeing as it was bucketing down when I took the photo. There is also lots of room to kick a ball, run around or ride a bike. This little…read moreripper of a park is getting MORE equipment added to it so I had to leave an extra star for a review at a later stage. If your dog or your child needs room to run about, this is the place to come. There is SO much room! The playground is fairly new and the entire play equipment area has a rubber floor. There are electronic toilets, BBQ, sheltered table/chair area, and a drinking fountain that needs a little servicing. It's one of those wonderful drinking fountains that have a lower collection spot for the off-run of water so the four legged pooches can have a drink also. Attached is also a tap. To be honest, if it wasn't such a great set up, the play equipment wouldn't be all that great. This is definitely a toddler park with one piece of equipment that reminds me of swinging around on the old lop sided hill hoist (which isn't suited for toddlers at all). This is a lovely place to be. The BBQ looks like it's the oldest piece of equipment of the whole area but it still looks like it gets used (it was a rainy day, I didn't try myself). Sometimes, you can tell how good a playground is by the way people are using the whole park. When I…read morearrived here there were people looking at the plants in the garden area, there were people walking their dogs along the Esplanade, there were people playing tennis, there was even a family having a picnic but no-one was playing on the playground. This playground is right next to the Brighton Caravan Park and Holiday Village and from what I could see, they had a MUCH better playground in there! No wonder this little playground was lonely. There is a toilet block close by and a tap or two around the place. I think I'm reviewing just about every conservation park worth noting in Adelaide at the moment,…read morebut because I spend so much of my time in them, I figure that they're well worth talking about. This park is pretty cool. Really, the main drawcard for me are the walking tracks. I'm a big fan, because, if you've read my other reviews, you'll know that I usually have my dog with me, and I often have lots of time to waste in my occupation, so I tend to visit lots of parks. The tracks here are really quite good. Long and meandering, they're a nice way to improve your fitness and enjoy some beautiful scenery. I've seen plenty of native fauna here. If you're looking for a barbecue spot, this isn't really it. Solid fuel barbecues are pretty much forbidden, and I don't think that gas barbecues are a great idea here either.

There are tennis courts, adult fitness equipment, a fantastic playground for a wide range of ages, sheltered table/chair area AND BBQ! Unfortunately for you (but yay for the park and the people) there were people using the BBQ and table/chair area so I didn't get a photo of that but it's just in front of the playground, you might be able to see it in the background of some of those photos. I tried to see if there was a drinking fountain. I'm sure there would be one near the BBQ but I couldn't see it and didn't want to intrude to find out. This place had a really nice 'feel' to it too. Perhaps it was the people laughing at their uncoordinated tennis swings, or maybe it was the sight of a group of friends (rather than a family) gathered around the BBQ but I really liked this place.
