Is this place public, can I just go and play and practice alone?

Even though it was "strange," it was actually pretty good. On the other hand, the Master's in Screenwriting was just awful. It was a terrible experience, with bad and unprepared professors, an all-white faculty with zero diversity, and a department chair (Mr. Jared Rappaport) who seemed completely lost and had no idea what he was doing. The entire body of professors was terrible--aggressions and lies everywhere. I had two classes that were repetitions of courses I had already taken as an undergraduate, even with the same professors. Additionally, during my thesis examination, one of the three professors who were supposed to give me feedback did not read my script. As a result, I only received two sets of feedback instead of three. Beyond that, my experience with the credentialing program at CSUN, under the Michael Eisner School, was equally disappointing. The lack of commitment, disorganization, and unprofessional behavior throughout the process was unacceptable. Communication was poor, requirements shifted without clear guidance, and there was little accountability. It is a terrible place to pursue studies if you expect seriousness, professionalism, or institutional support. In summary, I paid for a Master's degree that honestly taught me very little. I learned far more in the screenwriting courses I took at Los Angeles Valley College than in the CSUN Master's program. And if you are thinking about "networking," forget it. The network you can get from that institution is honestly BS. I do not recommend that program. Look for a more serious institution if you want to learn and feel genuinely appreciated. Do not pursue the Master's in Screenwriting at CSUN.

They have all genres of dance, but it always felt they prioritized the competition dance team, which isn't our thing. As a result, when we moved to the San Fernando Valley, we decided to stick with a more traditional Ballet school academy environment. No competition team type places. We ended up in downtown LA. But during covid, we really had some challenges and my son wasn't able to get back in a studio for many many months. I found California Dance Academy on social media and saw that they were doing Nutcracker outside. I emailed them and ask if my son could take class with them for a while until our school opens again. They were dancing outside and following all covid precautions until case numbers came down and county restrictions allowed indoor classes again. They followed everything to a T and kept dancers safe. No cases were spread within the studio. Everyone we met here was fantastic. No drama. And truly solid classical ballet instruction. I'd have previously written this place off because we were looking to get away from competition environment, but California Dance Academy treats both classical ballet and competition as equally valuable. They develop strong dancers and train kids up in the area the kid wants to go. Their focus is art and solid instruction. My son's school downtown reopened and he was genuinely sad to leave California Dance Academy. But I have to write this review and just say that whether it is classic ballet or more commercial style dance you are looking for, this is a great school with great people. They are helpful, transparent, kind, and honest people.

Remodeling can help, but I love the nostalgia of it. Movies use to be like this, no recliner, no heated or cool seats. It feels good to sometimes to have the old school ways when simplistic and basic is what we all knew! Now don't get me wrong I do love the innovative movie theaters, but sometimes it's good to get the retro feeling. I feel if you don't like it here and it's stadium amenities it's not for you! Came on a Friday and business was definitely booming... so overall I have no complaints. I come here from time to time because it's always availability!! It's convenient right next to Northridge Mall and plenty of parking!!! I will come back for sure!!! My seats weren't that bad either. -Marshay D.

I'm especially upset because I grew up coming to this exact theater all the time as a kid back when it was under Pacific Theaters. I never remember the service being this terrible, nor the theater itself being in such a sad state of disrepair. We were seated in Theater 2, in the back right-hand corner of the left section (facing the screen). The lack of upkeep is shocking. The large sound-dampening board along the wall was completely coming off and was literally touching my chair. When I tried to force it back out of my space, it looked like it was about to pop completely off the wall. Then, the moment I fully sat back and leaned into my seat, the entire front end of the chair collapsed forward, causing me to slip right off onto the floor. Because the chair was entirely broken, we had to move down a row, completely ruining our seating preference. While the broken seat ruined our comfort, I am honestly most upset about the concession service. I paid extra out of pocket for a soda when we arrived, with my card clearing the charge at 10:40 PM. When I went out to get a refill at 11:30 PM, every single soda machine had already been turned off. What makes this absolutely crazy is that it was a Saturday night--one of the busiest nights of the week--yet staff was already shutting down amenities while our movie still had an hour left and multiple auditoriums hadn't even let out. I paid for a drink that comes with refills, but I was only allowed the initial fill because the staff wanted to pre-close early. It's a shame to see a place I have so many good memories of turn into a place with hazardous seating and lazy management. AMC needs to do better.

The staff was organized, check-in was easy, and the hybrid format made the whole process painless (unlike some IV attempts I've witnessed in real life). What really impressed me was how efficient everything was. Once I passed my exam, they handed me my certificate the same day--no waiting, no chasing emails, no mysterious "processing time." Just boom. Certified. I wish everything in healthcare worked that fast. Now for the real highlight: Instructor Steele Erickson. Steele is the kind of nursing instructor you secretly hope for but never expect to get. He breaks down IV therapy and blood withdrawal with such clarity and patience that even tricky techniques suddenly feel manageable. He teaches with a calm, supportive energy that makes everyone relax. He's incredibly knowledgeable, genuinely invested in every student, and somehow keeps the class both educational and entertaining. As someone with 25+ years in healthcare, I can confidently say instructors like Steele do not grow on trees. If you're considering getting your IV Certification, go to Los Angeles Career College and hope you get Steele Erickson as your instructor. You'll walk away confident, competent, and wondering why every nursing class can't be this smooth. Highly recommended!

My California CNA skills exam was confirmed in the official TMU/Headmaster system, but days before the test the school emailed and told me it was cancelled and that it "would not take place" if I showed up. TMU told me my exam was still scheduled and even had to call the school to remind them they were required to test me. On test day there were other students testing at the site, even though the administrator had told me there was no exam and that exams would no longer be offered there, which left me feeling singled out and misled. Throughout the program, it often felt like some students received more support and opportunities than others, which gave me the impression of favoritism rather than equal treatment. The school promotes itself as professional and student‑focused, but the way my exam was handled did not feel fair or transparent. I recommend future students closely monitor their TMU account, save all confirmations, and be ready to advocate for themselves.

Our painting was a lion, and I must say until almost half way through I just didn't think my painting of a lion was going to look like a lion, but we trusted the process and we followed instructions which were very easy to follow step by step, and in the end we all had lions! It's so funny that despite that we all follow the same instructions, our lions all were different sizes and looks haha! Our Instructor Ellie was so upbeat and friendly and helpful! My favorite part of the night was when we had started painting in the neon yellow color, when suddenly Ellie turned off the lights! Our paintings were glowing!!!!!
