Office experience was fine. Lots of people (me too) picking up sleep meter testing for sleep apnea.

I recently had been diagnosed with sleep apnea after a sleep study and the technicians were super helpful and professional.

Over a year ago, I came to Canyon Sleep knowing that SOMETHING was likely amiss with regard to my…read moresleep. I had been experiencing severe fatigue for quite some time. I was just "so tired" all of the time. I was fatigued to the point that I was exhausted throughout my days, and I slept excessively (well over 10 hours between the hours I slept during the day & my nights ... probably closer to 11.5-12 hours). This was getting serious. I would nod off while driving my children home from school. I couldn't read to them as I would fall asleep before even the briefest of children's books concluded, I could never stay awake during a full length feature film at the cinema, and I rarely could even muster up the energy to take the children out to eat at a pizza parlor (like Chuck E. Cheese). My two young sons wanted me to be as active as they are, and, sadly, I couldn't be there for them in the manner and scope they wanted and deserved their mother to be. I could feel the children's disappointment, and it hurt to be unable to be there for them, to be unable to fully participate in their lives, but it wasn't a choice. I was JUST "TOO TIRED." I really, genuinely, could not do anything beyond what was absolutely necessary, and I struggled even to do that (the bare necessities). I had come to accept that I needed the assistance of a sleep specialist to get to the bottom of this. Ultimately, after 2 sleep studies and determining that there were multiple factors at play, Dr. T. provided me the information and necessary tools to change my life. One such tool is a unique device one places inside the mouth for 20-minutes each day to exercise one's tongue/address sleep apnea (a wonderful alternative to CPAP). Since utilizing this device, I have been able to sleep through the night w/out having my sleep interrupted multiple times (throughout the night), resulting in a deep and meaningful impact on my overall physical/mental health and wellness. Additionally, I have received medication that helps me to stay awake whilst driving, during a movie at a theater, whilst reading my kids a book, or even be up for a day of play at a high energy spot like The Great Wolf Lodge. The office experience at Canyon Sleep has always been welcoming, friendly, comfortable, and professional, from the very beginning. I could not be more pleased. I also appreciate that they do offer telehealth appointments which are extremely easy as well as convenient. After addressing my condition, Dr. T. also met with my son and had an impressive exchange with him to address an issue regarding his difficulties falling asleep. Dr. T was able to engage with my youngest in a fun and exciting manner that ensured he both enjoyed, as well as benefited from, his visit to the office. Dr. T. had bright, colorful, interesting props and tools that he brought out of a "doctor's bag" during my son's exam and consultation. In summary, it is difficult to express the depth of my gratitude to/for Dr. T and staff. Canyon Sleep truly restored my ability to fully engage and interact with my boys and significantly improved my health, general sense of wellbeing, and overall happiness. To have the energy and wakefulness to fully participate in every aspect of life, and in the lives of my children, is truly priceless. THANK YOU CANYON SLEEP. If you are considering consulting with a neurologist for any sleep related concerns, I cannot recommend Dr. T enough. Please do not hesitate to give Canyon Sleep a call. I promise you'll be glad you took the initiative to move forward. This call will be your first step toward better sleep and better health.

From the moment I walked into this medical office, I knew it was a different kind of practice and…read moreone that would fit me just perfectly. There wasn't a huge line of people or a group of 3-4 people working at the front desk. Instead, they come across as a bit hard-to-find, and perhaps a bit difficult to get an appointment with. That's OK! Its well worth it. They do not push CPAP and they seem to ONLY care about getting you a solution for your sleep issues that fits you. It's a husband and wife team, a PA-C and an MD Sleep Neurologist. Together, they are a very impressive outfit. I was very thoroughly examined, interviewed extensively about my habits and past experiences. Then, the MD came in and managed a number of tests of different kinds to see how my body is working. I was given a test to take home and we're going to start with that to see just what level of sleep Apnea I have. All in all, I was very satisfied and I feel like for the first time I am on the right path to get this fixed.

No one got to the center until 7:45a, at which time a surly and antagonistic "neurodiagnostic techninician" named Britt (male) could barely mumble a hello. Once taken back by "Britt", I was ordered to remove my pants and don a blue pair of paper shorts. When I asked him if he could tell me a little bit more about the procedure I was having (EMG), he stated "Just put the shorts on and lay down on the table." Okay. Once he re-entered the room, I had to ask him his name. There was no introduction. While he was gathering what he needed, I asked him "What are your credentials?" He rattled off a couple of certifications that apparently permitted him to attach electrodes to my legs. There was no bedside manner at all; he said absolutely nothing to me except "pulsing now." I tried to tell him that I was a bit anxious about a procedure for which I had heard was exceedingly painful. I asked him, who does the second part of the procedure? He again rattled off some doctor's name that I couldn't pronounce if you paid me. "Britt" continued his electrode-busy work, not caring at all when I asked him to stop sending pulses through my ankles. It hurt terribly. "Britt" completed his ritualistic assault of everything neural in my lower extremities, gathered up his crap, and left with a flippant "Take care." Now enters a slovenly-looking, previously unidentified doctor something-or-other, shuffling his feet, and mumbling a quasi-introduction. He kept mumbling "okay, okay" to himself when I wasn't even asking any questions. When I asked him to clarify exactly WHAT he was going to do to me, he stated that he was going to insert needles deep into many muscles "from my hip to my feet" over and over again to measure the neural activity. When I shared my fear of needles, he said "it will hurt." I had a baaadd feeling deep in my gut - and my gut is never, ever wrong. I apologized and said, "Yeah, I'm not doing this." His response was (of course), "Okay, okay... [mumble, mumble]." I sat up, took off the blue paper shorts, and hightailed it out of there. On my way out, the front desk lady (who had finally made it work ), was literally screaming at me "Ma'am! Ma'am!" I didn't look back. This was, quite possibly, one of the worst medical experiences of my life. My heart was pounding when I got back to my car. As I am in the field of medical malpractice, I could not help the feeling that I had just dodged a bullet. I cannot believe that with today's technology we cannot figure out a better way to measure neural activity in our bodies. Until that day comes, I'll just sit here and be numb in my feet, thank you.

The ONLY reason this didn't get a 5 star rating was because the doctor did not wear his face mask properly - it was not covering his nose or mouth, he wore it on his chin. There is no excuse for a doctor to not wear a face mask properly during a global pandemic.

Then on top of that after prescribing the medication and telling you come back in 6months. After 6months She asked the same questions "how are you? How is the medication? Any side affects?" Then sends me on my merry way for another 6months and proceeds to charge me 50$ for a less than 5min appointment that I waited over an hour for. Then the best part is almost two years later you get a phone call from a collection agency because your doctor sold your information to a collection agency to get their money, then proceeds to block me from visiting or meeting the doctor again. What kind of doctors office is this? Makes total sense it's run like this because she's not even a real doctor.
