Even worse, it happened days before we were scheduled to leave for a long-awaited trip to see extended family. We really didn't want to miss it. Fortunately we knew this was a good contractor as they had done some excellent work for us previously. These guys came right away and got to work. We left on schedule. They ran tests and identified the type of mold present in the wall. Unfortunately moisture had been seeping in and/or condensing in all the foundation walls for some time, they discovered. They removed the mold and got the proper machines to dry and decontaminate the place. We decided to redo just about the whole basement, if they were up for it, and they were. They added various measures to prevent any future mold and improve energy efficiency, like waterproof insulation and regrading outside. And they added an egress window, backflow valve, some nice pot lights, and beautiful laminate flooring. All the work was completed promptly and to a high degree of quality. We are very happy with our basement and would not hesitate to recommend Forever Kitchens as a contractor.

They were very professional and made honest recommendations in their quote about what really needed to be done (only needed 1 coat for base boards, my ceilings didn't need re-painting = huge saving). They were very accommodating in my last minute colour change and super enthusiastic about the finished project, as was I. The final product looked better than I expected - clean lines, no paint on electrical fixtures and moved necessary appliances to paint behind them. They cleaned up any mess they would've made and swiffered the floors on their way out. I felt I could trust them fully in ensuring them with the keys to my apartment.

Both of the bungalows attached to us decided they were willing to consider this despite not having had any leaks themselves. Jorgensen was one of four companies that our three households looked into My husband is quite knowledgeable and did lots of research in advance and so he knew what advancements had been made in roofing materials and processes in the the past decade. Jorgensons price was competitive, providing good value, and the sales rep we invited to speak to us was honest, knew his products and explained their process. They were able to accommodate our preferred timing. They communicated through the process and answered all of our questions. Crews arrived on time, and worked hard to get the job done well. I was very impressed with the steps they took to prevent any damage to our property. Unlike other roofing companies I have seen in the area, there was no loud music played while they worked, no swearing or yelling. They worked long days and crews were respectful and considerate. I highly recommend Jorgensen roofing!

We turned down $5000 in credits to be able to do this review. They are very expensive to hire, however their contractors seem to be the cheapest they can find. I held off posting this review (now 10 months) hoping OGC would return to finish the work they failed to complete last summer and agreed to do in the spring... Good thing I didn't hold my breath. Our experience with OGC was terrible after sales. They didn't complete work / deliverables, the Project Manager (PM) they assigned to our project had no clue what we wanted or any desire to learn it, did not supervise the work, and mostly gaslight and argued with us about pretty much everything. His superiors continued the gaslighting and arguing, all while promising the credits for our dissatisfactory experience (you only find out about the NDA at the end). Their Sales department was excellent. Professional looking offices. Professional looking brochures. However the second the contract was signed was the last time the company gave us the impression they cared at all. Before this turns into a novel, simply this: save yourselves the stress and headaches, don't hire this company. The reviews are very misleading (see REDDIT).

He was not pushy on the sale. His crews completed the shingle replacement of my house in a day with the clean up. Dave T from Magnum Roof came inspecting the work next day was also very professionally and able to complete minor touch up work to make the shingle look perfect on my house. Dave T is amazing and supportive where he completed some small handyman work outside the house for us. I have immediately referred Magnum Roofing to my neighbors beside my house where the house owners are planning to get their shingle replaced. I also passed Steve's business card to one of my neighbors. Big thanks to Steve, his crews and Dave T from Magnum Roofing Ottawa for the exceptionally work to our house :)

Steve got right back to us and did a detailed estimate based upon actual measurements up on the roof (as opposed to others who use Google satellite views to do their estimates). Magnum was nowhere near the most expensive quote nor were they the cheapest either (but not by much). Steve was happy to answer all my questions about shingles, pricing, options, availability, etc. We elected to use the GAF Roofing system choosing the Timberline HD (Pewter Grey) shingles. One of the subtle deciding factors for us to use Magnum was their advertised dedication to assisting Christie Lake Kids Camp, a charity very close to our hearts. "Magnum Roofing supports Christie Lake Kids in the form of both financial donations and by providing roofing work to their facilities at no charge." Nice to see a firm giving back to the community. A couple of the crew arrived the evening before the job was to start to place the dump trailer in position and begin to get setup. In this way the early 7:00am start would not involve noisy trucks, etc potentially bothering us or neighbors. The crew of 7 showed up at exactly 7:00am and got right to it. Our roof was completed in just over 1 1/2 days (183 bundles so a large job by any measure) just as Steve had predicted. Not a single complaint was heard of the heat, the bugs, the heavy bundles of shingles or any other condition the crew faced. There was no excessive use of profanities, loud radios, etc so common in these industries. All of the crew parked on the street so as not to block our driveway for us. In short a very courteous bunch of talented guys. Upon completion the entire crew meticulously walked the perimeter scouring the ground for any nails, bits of shingle, plastic or other debris. Our evestroughs were all cleaned out, the shingle courses were dead straight, the vents were all installed correctly and drip edge was installed. The entire GAF system of waterproof membrane, deck protection, starter shingles, ridge caps, etc was used and installed per GAF specification. Would I recommend Magnum Roofing to a friend? You bet I would. They absolutely scored a 10 out of 10 in every aspect of the job (and I'm a pretty picky guy). Every one of the crew knew their role and operated as a coordinated, well oiled machine. We had onsite visits both days by lead job foreman Dave to ensure all was well and that expectations were being met. Admittedly having a roof shingled isn't the most glamorous way to spend your hard earned money but it is certainly a great sense of security to know it's been done right and should be trouble free for many years to come. What a difference! Call Magnum.
