Laurysen Kitchens, on Carp Road near the exit for the 417, has been in business since 1970, so they…read morereally know what they are doing. If you are looking for something better than a hardware store box kitchen (which would be fine in some circumstances, but sometimes you need something a little extra), this is a good place to look. Their displays are beautiful, and incorporate good use of space. It's those little, finishing touches that make such a big difference, such as: access to the back of a cabinet that divides rooms, like an island, or an L-shaped counter where the back is exposed to another room. We are looking for some way to add a little more storage to our house, specifically the kitchen, without losing the integrity of the space. We wandered around Laurysen looking for ideas; it would be very tempting to replace the kitchen entirely! I need to go back again, to look at the selection in the lower level. This is an excellent show room for anyone who likes to see things in person, as opposed to shopping from a catalogue.

The designer was fantastic and the functionality of our renovated kitchen is top notch…read more Unfortunately, Laurysen has been installing my kitchen for 7 weeks (it was supposed to take 2 days), and there are still a number of outstanding items ... with NO end in sight. Heck, I still don't have the correct nobs on my drawers (and I had NO nobs until I got pissy and they sent someone out to slap random handles on until they can get their act together)! Multiple days taken off work - and at times, for some guy to come out and literally do nothing ... seriously. Nothing. I would expect this from a low budget company, but Laurysen isn't cheap. 60% down payment over 5 moths ago to get it all started, and they WOULD NOT even unload the cabinets from the truck upon delivery without the next 30% deposit. I haven't even mentioned the 3 garbage cans (which I filled) of material that was left in my garage after installation. Love the look of the kitchen, but in hindsight, I would have negotiated the payment plan better to withhold 20-30% of final payment ... that might actually motivate this company to be a little more punctual with finishing its job.

In 2016, I hired OGC to do the renovations at my place. I was under the impression that some of the…read morematerials that were used during the process was not in accordance with the statement of work. This was due to the fact that I was not fully informed by the project manager at the time about what material was used. I contacted OGC about another concern in 2017, and at the time I thought it was addressed, however it was not, and reached out again. This time around, I was heard, and Fatima Abbas the Customer Service Manager took care of both problems. The way that she and Andrew handled my concerns was excellent and I have regain faith in OGC. She managed the work like a director of an orchestra. In retrospect I understand that they were not made aware of many of the problems that I had. Complaints from clients are at many times hidden by the Project Authority. Communications is often filtered and it was great to see that they did everything in their power to ensure it was done right. OGC fixed all the issue and painted the wall in order to match the other walls. They removed the old caulking around the window, grab bars and shower tap and re-caulk everything as a good will gesture. Throughout the process I was kept aware of the work involved, when it would be done and at what time. If there was a delay I was informed and was told when it would resume. Everything was done and was overwhelmed by the high quality work done. I can honestly say that OGC honour their warranty in my case and even went beyond.

There is a very good reason you don't see the number of negative reviews this company deserves!…read more When clients aren't happy (I now understand this to happen a LOT - see REDDIT), OGC offers fairly substantial credits back to compensate the client on the condition the client signs an Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) specifically preventing the client from saying anything negative at all about the company, or they don't get the credits... We turned down $5000 in credits to be able to do this review. They are very expensive to hire, however their contractors seem to be the cheapest they can find. I held off posting this review (now 10 months) hoping OGC would return to finish the work they failed to complete last summer and agreed to do in the spring... Good thing I didn't hold my breath. Our experience with OGC was terrible after sales. They didn't complete work / deliverables, the Project Manager (PM) they assigned to our project had no clue what we wanted or any desire to learn it, did not supervise the work, and mostly gaslight and argued with us about pretty much everything. His superiors continued the gaslighting and arguing, all while promising the credits for our dissatisfactory experience (you only find out about the NDA at the end). Their Sales department was excellent. Professional looking offices. Professional looking brochures. However the second the contract was signed was the last time the company gave us the impression they cared at all. Before this turns into a novel, simply this: save yourselves the stress and headaches, don't hire this company. The reviews are very misleading (see REDDIT).
