They tried to sell me a compressor I didn't need. A second opinion revealed l didn't need a compressor at all.

Beware! Your person came to check my air conditioner that was running all the time. The VH and cooling person reported that the motherboard was burned up and several other things and the replacement would be 17,000, 15,000 or 11,000. I had a second person come over and the only problem was a loose wire running copper tubing. Thais was after I had been a customer for several years. I was never informed that there would be a $49 charge to come out to my home. I called and talked to the woman who answered the phone and told her what happened. Then I mailed a letter and explained the injustice. After another threat, I called and asked to speak to the owner and was told that he was in a meeting. My son had problems with his package unit and when they come out, they didn't even use a multimeter. They just told him he had a bad compressor. It was just a simple, cheap capacitorThat was bad .They didn't take the time to even troubleshoot it and charged him $90 for a service fee. They tried to sell him a new unit was all they were really trying to do which was about $11,000 not counting warranty. read more

I requested a service from Valley Heating and Cooling company. There was a leakage, instead of fixing it and charging for the job, the guy offered to have a new heating system, without a new unit, just sealing the leak and replacing, connections. He was charging me almost $10,000.00. Just ripping me up of my money, and I am 78 years old. read more

Hay everyone it's me again I started this in February when I had to have new duct work they sent two young guys .they said they installed right i have been having trouble ever since they have been coming one said it was low on free on unit only 2 years old one came it was not connected right they slapped more tape around I've been heated all summer i called Jackson plumbing and heating the duct work was all on the ground for the return air i will be glad when my contract is paid up i will be getting someone else to service mines they used to be a good company not anymore I started with them in 2006 was good then i think they sold, and we are stuck with the new valley heating and cooling if i can get the money to pay of service finance i will and be done with valley who put my unit in the man from Jackson talked to valley while he was here and told him its companies like them that give the other good ones a bad name i had to go without air 22aug until 25 iam so thankful to god it was cool monday morning when i got up hope they got it right this time my electric bill has skyrocket all air going under house what has happened to people doing the right thing read more

Very prompt service ,did the trouble shoot on it ,told us he was sure it wasn't our fuse box .He then told us to call the power company,he thought it was our meter.We called they came out and that was the problem. We are not cold tonight,thanks to both of them read more

Basically we have called this company out to fix the ac in the house like 4 or 5 times now, the first time they came and 'fixed' the ac, it started leaking water which it was NOT doing before hand and then flooded the hallway and ruined our flooring. When we called them out there the following days they told us there was no way the damage could have happened overnight when me and 2 other people in the household literally WATCHED the floor warp in a span of 3 hours. Fast forward a couple more weeks and our AC unit is STILL freezing up and they have been here to 'fix it' multiple times since then. The other reviews seem pretty good so im really confused as to why this has been our experience but I thought it was worth warning about! All we got is a lot money taken out of my mother in laws pocket, a warped floor and still no working AC. read more

Our A C stopped working on Sunday night, we called valley heating & cooling Monday they said a service tech would call when he completed the call he was on. i have never had a service company respond so quickly and arrived approx 2 hours after my call. Our A/C unit went out last night and I called Valley H&C for a quote to see if someone could see what the issue was. They had a tech come out within an hour and he was super friendly and honest. He confirmed that our unit had seen better days and that we were looking at likely getting a new unit. However, we were able to get a new unit installed by mid afternoon today (less than 24 hours after I made my initial call) and everyone was extremely helpful. Valley seems to tell people stuff is wrong when it's not. My in laws called them out to fix there unit .They told them it had no freon at all in it .so we called another company out and it was just a burnt wire so.they was trying to sell her a new unit just because of a burnt wire. read more

Our air conditioner stopped cooling the house one evening right before bedtime. The next morning I called Valley Heating & Cooling and scheduled for them to come see what the problem was. They called us back and said they could be out at 9am. Well at 9am they arrived. This is the first time a home repair company has ever arrived when they said they would. The technician found the problem within 20 minutes and told us the unfortunate news that we really needed to consider getting a new unit since ours was so old. He informed us of the program where we can purchase a new unit through our utility company and got us a quote ready. So after deciding we needed a new unit he said it would be installed the following day and to expect them to start between 8-9am. The next morning we got a call at 8:45am telling us they would be arriving shortly. A team of four technicians arrived at 8:55am and immediately began the chore of swapping out the units. The new unit was installed and running at 2:45pm. They explained everything we needed to know and made sure we didn't have any other questions. They were very efficient and disposed of the old unit and left no trash behind. The technician that initially came out even filled out all the paperwork necessary to apply for the financing for the new unit. All we had to do was sign in. If you are looking for very dependable, knowledgable, and friendly professionals to take care of you heating and cooling system along with many other services they offer you should give them a call. On the coldest day of the year my granddaughter's heat pump started putting cold air ou. This would not do, because she has a 2 year old little girl. Called Valley heating and cooling and a very nice gentleman came out the same day to check it out. Got several estimates on how to repair the unit. This one was old and I decided to get a new one. The next day, two young men came and started the work early in the morning. There was a lot to be done. To expedite the installation two more techs came. After the installation, New pad, thermostat, intake, etc. The yard was cleaned up and the house was toasty. This company and their employees are a blessing. Great job and all done with smiles. It was really cold that day, but they got everything done without a mess and very polite. This company should be very proud of their great employees that definitely know what they are doing. My heat pump malfunctioned and I called Valley Heating & Cooling (VHC) for help. What turned out to be circuit board problem took VHC a month to diagnose and fixed, partially. They also replaced contactor in my other heat pump and charged me almost ten times of the market value of the part (contactor), in adding to the labor charge. I finally get tired of waiting for VHC to fix the remaining problem and called another company for help. It took the other company one and half days to get the job done: half a day (late afternoon) to diagnose the problem; the next day (afternoon) to replace the bad part. read more

I am using the forum to relate an experience I recently had with Valley Heating & Cooling. I am not new to VHC as they have installed 2 major cooling units at my home during the last 4 years. Last week my heating unit failed and I called for service from VHC. The technician was here for less than an hour and upon completion presented me with a bill for $569. The bill was broken out as $69 for service charge and $500 for 3 repair parts (sensor, switch and capacitor). After paying the bill, I went online to Amazon to check their retail cost w/free shipping for these 3 parts. Total cost at Amazon was $43.65. Based on generally accepted bill practices, that would compute to $43.65 for parts and $456.35 for labor. As the technician was here less than an hour, that is a labor rate of $456.35 per hour. I then had a long telephone discussion about my concerns with Scott at VHC. He offered to refund $100 which he did in a timely manner. My cooling units are still under warranty with VHC but I will be looking for someone else for future heating unit repairs. Valley Heating & Cooling was called out to service our Central Unit. Just routine maintenance. When they left, the machine stopped working and we were told that two parts needed to be replaced for a total of almost $1000. My mom was extremely distressed about this because she is on a fixed income and this news was totally unexpected because the unit was working fine the day before. I was skeptical the whole time because of this (it was working fine the day before). I became convinced that the worker had done something to it when the next worker came out and started talking technical jargon to confuse us. My mom called another company for a second opinion and lo and behold! The unit worked just fine with a part that only cost $50! I don't know if it was just this individual worker because my mom has been using Valley for years and never had this happen, but please always get a second opinion. read more

There are times that most people lose faith in businesses being honest or even just understanding and kind. Valley Heating and Cooling installed a brand new unit and duct work in my home. Within a year we had squirrels find their way into our attic and they chewed through our duct work. Valley replaced the track of duct work affected. A week later I knew there was a problem again. When I called, I felt there was no way it could have been fixed properly and already be damaged again. Scott was understanding and said while they stand by their work, he would come out and fix it again, and free of charge just because of my concerns. As it turned out, after calling a contractor there was another hole in the attic that was originally missed. I called Scott back to be honest and let him know that squirrels could have gotten back in because of the hole. He said he would still fix it for free. I cannot tell you how impressed I am with their service. I will continue to call them and recommend them to others! read more
