After purchasing a pinion pine tree for $550 A landscaper "Fransisco" planted this improperly according to a professional arborist. After complaint the nursery did agree to replace the tree but the landscaper Fransisco wants $450 to plant the new one. Value here very poor as is customer service. Value also poor considering all the additional time, money and effort. Not recommended at all. Stay away. read more

Fantastic variety of plants that will actually be grown successfully in our climate. Very helpful employees. A great value too!

This is my go-to nursery. They are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Last fall, we purchased 11 trees from them. All are doing great. Suzy helped us pick out the best ones of each type. The perennials I purchased this spring were healthy and are also well on their way. Whenever I ask a question, they have an answer or know where to find the answer. The location could be off-putting for some, but the drive is really worth it to get plants, shrubs, and perennials that are grown in the grand valley. The plants are already acclimated to our area. Just go check it out. read more
I find the people here extremely helpful. I was looking for some seed potatoes a little too late in the season. They were the only people in town that still had any. They gave me detailed instructions on multiple different ways to plant to be successful in the very clay soil around here. They agreed it was it was late, but worth a try. They really have an enormous selection of plants. They all look healthy and I've been successful with them. I like that there are so many nurseries in Grand Junction. It seams to foster a large selection plants. I think Valley Grown seems to have a real pride of ownership and local plants. read more

Have tried calling them many times each day for over two weeks. We want to buy several large B&B trees but refuse to travel to Junction ( from Palisade ) with our truck and trailer unless we know they have what we want. Bookcliff does not have any so we will go down to Dove Creek and buy them wholesale and bring them back. read more

Worst customer service ever! Original owner is great I'm sure, but his entitled arrogant son Evan is the rudest person I have come in contact with in a long time. Now I understand why their ratings are so low. Bookcliff is where we will take our contract and our future contracts. read more

So this is the largest nursery in Grand Junction. They have more trees than anyone else. I find that for flowers and vegetables they are difficult to shop. You are pretty much on your own, and everything is scattered about in a pretty random fashion. What I really hate is the price gouging. First off, nothing is listed anywhere, they might charge more or less on whether they like you, who knows? I got one six pack of tomatoes and four 3 inch square pepper plants (big pots, tiny pepper plants) and it cost me $15??? What was it? $2.50 a square and $5 for the six pack? Gouge me a little with a salty poker. If you're going to charge so much at least provide an itemized receipt. read more

We moved to Grand Junction in March of 2018. Planned on a very large re-landscaping of our 3/4 acre property. Nice lady but NO nut trees at all and virtually no fruit trees. We wandered around for an hour and found some nice shade trees. Ended up leaving without spending a dime. We have spent well over $3,000 at Lowe's and somewhat less at Home Depot. Bought a couple nut trees and several fruit trees from Mt. Garfield Nursery on F road but they are very very high priced. We ended up traveling out of the area and bought a semi-truck load of trees and shrubs and had them shipped directly to us. We just now in mid July bought several hundred dollars worth of per-annual flowers from Lowe's. Very nice flowers and it took us 4 days to plant them all. Valley Grown was a huge Nursery but it seems they are geared for the wholesale side, not the retail side. We still need more Shade trees and more fruit trees so will head out this fall to the out of state place and buy a bunch more. We would much rather buy Local but there were only 2 nursery's in the valley. Mt. Garfield ( very very high priced and no guarantee on anything ) and Valley Grown. It seems like this large valley could justify 2 or 3 more good sized nursery's. read more
