So, this isn't the sort of place I normally go, but now we have a baby. And I must admit, this place is pretty great for families. Sure, the food is almost offensively average, but they have an enormous play area with stuff for kids of all ages. The portions are huge, especially for the price. Their "Ultimate Carvery" is a shockingly huge plate, complete with the biggest Yorkshire pudding you've ever seen, pigs in blankets, and all the normal trimmings. I could barely make a dent in it. And I have to say, the quality of the meat was better than I expected. The beef was honestly pretty tender. The sides were all pretty average and mass-produced (the cauliflower cheese especially disappointing), but it filled me up for the rest of the day, possibly the rest of my life, and my son had a blast in the play area. HUGE queues at peak times though, so prepare to wait in line a while. read more
