No "free" hot food or alcohol in this class. Not really worth the price point but it was nice to have some quietness. At the basic fare price, you'll sit with the masses, the hoards of tourists are loud & active as the move about & without the best manners. Business lounge 4pm ride - I was really looking forward to this because my comfort experience went so well. The ticket includes hot food & alcohol. The food & dessert was a bit bland. The alcohol was nice after a long day of exploring. I didn't like the large number of people in business & the some of the loud passengers, lacking manners at the buffet. I thought there may be as much people if not less in business class, but people must want warm food after a long day. The ride was smooth with no issues. Service was nice. I liked the duty free shop but prices are comparable to market, so really not worth buying & lugging things around. Do book ahead for an easy experience.

This ferry from Helsinki over to Tallinn, Estonia It was pretty easily on the coolest one we've ever been on! This is not your standard ferry, like you see in Seattle. This is a straight up re-purposed cruise ship with something like eight floors to hang out on! There are a couple concentric areas with play rooms and lots of large benches and tables to spread out on. We hunker down on one of those, and near the playroom, for both the trip there and the trip back. The play room kept the kids busy for the entire two hour ferry ride, and had plenty of room for them to hang out in. There were a numberDifferent places to grab food as well as a number of bars if you felt like 9 AM drinking was in order. There were also spots to head outside And look at the ocean. Overall, this is really as good as a ferry can get this coming from somebody who is ridden the Seattle ferries for a long time! In addition, Estonia was absolutely awesome and it's a place you should definitely see if you have a chance. Overall, this is the way to travel by sea out of Helsinki

I passed through Helsinki Airport this past summer and got to experience both sides of the terminal rush. When I first landed, the arrivals area was admittedly a bit hectic and crowded, but my departure experience completely won me over. It is easily one of the cleanest, most open, and visually stunning airports I've flown through anywhere. The modern Nordic architectural design--especially that dramatic wooden ceiling in departures--makes the whole space feel huge, bright, and surprisingly serene. Security was an absolute breeze with their updated scanners, taking away all the usual travel stress. The Finnair lounge is amazing, but there is a great lineup of shops, cozy cafes, and local dining spots spread across the gate areas. My only real disappointment was that my flight out was at 5:00 in the morning! I was running on low energy and didn't have nearly enough time to sit back, browse around, or properly enjoy everything the terminal has to offer. Despite the early wake-up call, it left a fantastic impression. I'm definitely hoping my travel plans bring me back through HEL soon--preferably on an afternoon flight so I can actually stick around and enjoy it!

They were giving out free candy samples at the duty-free shop. There were shops selling Finnish goods like reindeer fur and local foods. There was a long line for customs, but it moved quickly. The employees spoke English very well. I found it odd that Finnair doesn't board their aircraft based on the zone numbers on our boarding passes. Everyone boards at once after special-needs passengers.

The only qualm I can think of is that perhaps the A/C could have worked a bit better - it wouldn't go under 24 degrees Celsius, so it was quite hot at night. The front desk was a little short in finding our two nights of stay, since our tour company had booked one night in my name and my night in my spouse's, and it was unclear to me how a room booked under a single, rather uncommon surname caused such a snag, but other than that we fully enjoyed our stay, the many breakfast options, and the hotel's excellent location, in walking distance to a variety of sightseeing experiences.
