This is a nice, basic guest-house style accommodations in Helsinki…read more The location is pretty central. You're only a block away from the Helsinki Cathedral and Senate Square. It's about a 15 minute walk from the central train station. It's a pretty centralized location. You get a private room, but the bathrooms are shared. The room I stayed in had a large bed, Queen size it looked, dresser, side table, tv (which didn't work, but I don't know Finnish or Swedish so that's okay). Before the main sleeping area of the room is a small entrance room. There was a mini fridge there, which was a nice touch, as well as a sink and mirror. It was nice that I could brush my teeth and wash my hands without needing to wait for the bathroom. Speaking of the bathroom it was clean and well stocked. The toilet and sink is in one bathroom. There is a seperate shower in another bathroom. Maybe I lucked out with when I stayed, but I didn't have to wait for the bathroom at any point. The shower bathroom also had a washer/dryer combo. You can use that for 5 Euros (includes soap). It takes a while to wash/dry a load of laundry, but was nice to do some laundry after traveling for a week. While my room had a mini fridge there is a communal kitchen if you want to use that. They have complimentary coffee and tea, and some cookies/biscuits. The kitchen was clean and had dishes and pots and pans, whatever you would need for cooking. There is free wifi in the hotel that worked pretty well. In the hall they have a variety of brochures and maps on Helsinki and local attractions. The staff were pretty friendly. They let me store my luggage for a few hours the day I was leaving. As far as safety goes I stayed here by myself and felt completely safe. The neighbourhood is quiet, but close to some major attractions in the city. There is a key to get into the building, then a key to get into the hotel on the 5th floor, and finally a key for the room. The only issues I had, and this is pretty minor, is that the rooms are a little out of date. The paint on the wall was a bit chipped, and the furniture looked a little rough around the edges. Everything was clean and basic, but a bit worn down. The bed wasn't the most comfortable I've slept in, but for the two nights I was here it was alright. When checking in you also have to make sure to check in between 2pm and 11pm, because if you're there earlier or later someone might not be there let you into the building. The hotel is on the 5th floor of a building. I walked all the way up the spiral staircase before realizing there was an elevator. For the price you pay, especially after researching other hotel prices for a private room in Helsinki, this hotel is a pretty good value. If I'm ever in Helsinki again I'd definitely stay here again.

Don't give your money to this dishonest business…read more I booked a night online but was deceived on when I could check-in. My reservation was cancelled and I was charged even though I wrote to the hotel to let them know I would arrive late and I was not told it would be a problem. When I requested a refund, the hotel refused. Go somewhere else, you don't want to give money to a business that isn't honest.

Every vacation we take, there is always a hotel that stands out during our trip…read more This hotel was beautiful! The rooms were spacious and elegant! This hotel reminded me of something like the Marriott World Center, or a convention hotel. It was beautiful! They also had an Excellent buffet selection for brunch. I remember doing this for one of our day trips. It's also in walking distance of the old Helsinki Olympia park, which was amazing to visit. I definitely recommend this hotel. For those looking for an upscale stay in the area.

I have to admit I didn't personally choose this hotel for our local accommodations in Helsinki. Two…read morenights at the Scandic Park came as part of a Baltic Sea cruise/hotel package I reserved for me and Jamie W., so when I looked for it on a Helsinki city map, I let out an audible sigh presuming it would be a bit too far from the city center. However, once we arrived, the hotel turned out to located conveniently on Mannerheimintie, a major boulevard where Helsinki's public tram system operates one of their main lines efficiently late into the night. It turned out to be just three stops away from the central train station hub where all the shopping and restaurants were concentrated. Looking recently renovated, the hotel itself was quite comfortable and looked like it was mostly targeted to business travelers since a lot of suits of both genders dominated the lobby and adjoining restaurant. That's where Jamie and I enjoyed the complimentary breakfast buffet which was quite a huge spread of food from which we grazed liberally (photo: http://bit.ly/1UWLZz3). With a rather gray view of the neighboring hotels and apartment buildings, our room was spacious, a "superior" room with a king bed and a purple Cleopatra sofa for lounging. It goes for a pretty reasonable $123 per night on hotels.com. We would definitely consider seeking it out should we find ourselves in Helsinki again.

The 7th floor is executive level and they have an executive lounge but like most Hilton's the lounge id not what they were before the pandemic and are operating at a much lower standard. Food is mediocre and the lounge isn't staffed so I recommend eating breakfast at the restaurant downstairs and not the lounge if you are a member status and have the free breakfast option. The buffet downstairs is excellent. The 8th floor has a nice indoor pool, gym and sauna's. Make sure you reserve a private sauna when you check in or you can join the mens or women's community sauna. Sauna's are part of the Finnish culture so be sure to experience it. The staff are very knowledgeable and will give directions and recommendations for restaurants as well as call you a taxi from one of the companies with the best rates. If you are taking a taxi from somewhere else to this Hilton note that there are two Hilton properties and the drivers call this one the Hilton by the seaside since it's on the water. Definitely recommend this place. The rooms were spacious and clean and it was a great experience staying there.

We LOVE Helsinki! This is a beautiful, very comfortable, and quiet hotel. Very close to public…read moretransportation, and near a nice walking area. It is across the street from the Hakaniemi market, which has absolutely gorgeous fish selections, and baked goods. This was a daily stop. We were very happy with the proximity of the hotel to our favorite market. My favorite things about this hotel was the staff. Shout out to Melissa in the bar, as well as the other regular staff members who greeted us with a smile and friendly conversation, on a daily basis. During our visit, there was a moderate amount of construction going on around the hotel. This did not disturb our rest. However, it did affect our ability to use the Uber/taxi transportation method because it created some confusion with drop off and pick up. This was an issue that we were willing to work with, but would be worth knowing about if you are planning on staying here in the next several months, in case it would be a deterrent. We used several saunas in the Helsinki area, and found the hotel sauna lacking. Sauna area and gym are spotless, peaceful, clean, and very pretty. My only thought about the sauna was that it was lukewarm... And lacked the ability to get hot. The gym was very nice. Lots of equipment options. Nice pool, too. Great restaurant. The buffet is worth the added expense. There is something for everyone. The salmon soup was one of my favorite items to have in the bar after a full day of exploring the city.
