My dad seems very happy and content there. He has made friends and enjoys the animals they have onsite. They may not have all the super fancy decor as other places have but I have learned not to judge a book by its cover. Cypresswood is fully staffed and trained to deal with memory care residents which makes a world of difference when choosing a facility.

The caregivers said they did not like the director because she only cared about the money and not the staff. They were overworked and understaffed. There was one rough caregiver, the regional director said she wasn't abusive just moving fast with my mom. Please do not take a loved one to Harvest HOme and Inwood Crossing! You loved one deserves a better place than this location.

The facility is well staffed, is always clean and odor free. We started with our dad at independent care and recently moved him to memory care. They are always having activities or socials that include family members to participate. For Valentines they held a Sweetheart dinner cooked by the staff and the food was excellent, the decorations, live music and crowning of kings and queens made this event festive and fun for everyone. I'm proud to tell people Southern Knights Is where our dad is living. It's a smaller facility and that has been a blessing. The staff/resident ratio is above and beyond.

My mom enjoyed her time in Assisted Living and she enjoyed being around people. They had a lot of activities and crafts also. She went there because she was living alone after my dad died and had fallen several times. It did take her time to get used to calling someone for help instead of just trying to get up and do it herself. The meals were good and they continue to improve life for the residents. I went by the other day and saw many of the same staff members I had known before.

UPDATE: Be aware that even though CDC does NOT recommend putting memory care residents in isolation, Brookdale, in their infinite wisdom, has decided to do that! It is terrible!! Not just those that have tested positive...EVERYONE. And then find a NON-Brookdale facility!! They are out there and are treating these people with the respect and love they deserve. My mom recently moved into the memory care (MC) unit at Novellus Cypresswood. Unfortunately,…read morethrough no fault of Cypresswood, her overall health took a fast downturn not long after she moved in. After a difficult hospitalization, mom was released to her apartment in the MC unit but now with a hospice service. The MC staff, whom I had already seen in previous times to be personable and attentive, were equally so after this big change in mom's condition. For 5-star aides Loretta, Joy, and Joan, it was as important to imbue a positive spirit into their work as to do a professional job with tasks of such as position changes, bathroom care, and bathing and dressing. Despite her weakened state, mom recognized and showed her appreciation of their care with a little joke or a "merci beaucoup." 5-star MC med techs Enos, Carlisa, and Y also greatly helped alleviate mom's suffering by adapting to her changing PRN medication needs. Many others behind the scenes also contributed. Thank you to everyone who extended themselves to meet mom's new and quite different needs as a resident in the MC unit who was also a person in hospice. Mom passed away peacefully on October 26, 2024.
