I just had the alternator replaced and DEF tank replaced at Bob Brown Chevrolet. Wouldn't you know it, it's the alternator and the turbo. I really appreciated Josh and the technician who were just honest with me, time to say goodbye to my beloved car. The cost of replacing the turbo, plus the fight I have to go through with Bob Brown isn't worth it. I hate dealerships, but had no choice for the first repairs, finding a mechanic to work on this car, besides the dealership has been hard. I will bring every car I own to this Midas. 10/10

I had an appointment at 2pm for an oil change and to check a tire that was leaking air. When I got…read morethere I was told it would be about 30min before they could get it in. I left and came back within the 30 min and still waited another 20 before it was pulled into the bay. The assistant manager shoed me the price for the oil change which was $100, had i not been on time crunch and needed the tire looked at i would've left. I was told that they would not be able to patch my tire as it was damaged too close to the side which was fine and I opted to go ahead and get new tires since I already knew I would need to soon. I noticed on the estimate where she showed me the tire price that it was recommended for my serpentine belt to be changed, at this point I was already there for an hour and I told her if that need done then I guess do it since I was leaving for Tennessee the next day. She stated it would be another 2 hours and I took a walk and came back after 20min and I said something about my windshield washer fluid and she said oh yeah mechanic said it's cracked and I said no the pump pops out, I asked if they actually looked to see if it was cracked and was told no. I was told my oil was empty and my power steering fluid was low. I asked if everything was topped off and was told yes. As I'm sitting there and she told me that they got the wrong size belt and then got another wrong size and then she needed to order it from Omaha. She said she would call me when it came in. I was there for 3.5 hours for basically an oil change and new tires. As I was leaving my trailblazer was whining which I knew my power steering fluid was empty. When I got home my son on law and I were changing the bushing for my washer fluid and noticed that my belt is still in good condition. I was charged $300 for the belt to be changed. We returned to Midas this morning so I could get a refund and to have my power steering fluid to be filled since that had not been done. We asked why it was recommended that my belt to be changed and the manager said he did not know and he was going to follow up. I asked him if he looked at the belt and he said no, did you want me too? I told him nevermind. I told him I never had an issue when Rich worked there, Rich was always honest with me. I will never go back.

I received the quote quickly from Scott K., but was honestly worried I'd get constantly harassed, like normally happens with dealerships. Instead, I received just a handful of texts from Scott, including one where he took the time to film a video of the specific car in which we were interested. Now we are loving our new Ridgeline. Thanks so much!

The Hall sensor on my BMW went kaput on the freeway outside of Des Moines and I spent a very rainy night stranded on the side of the road. Fast forward to the next morning, desperately calling everyone in town for the part -- nothing. As a last-ditch effort I expanded my search and contacted VanWall in Indianola. Lo-and-behold they could get the part on order from Germany and even drove up to Des Moines with a trailer to pick me up! From there it just got better. The staff went out of their way to accommodate me, helping me store my luggage and giving me a desk to sit at. A couple of employees, upon hearing my story, even offered to let me stay with them! -- and let's be honest here, a Hall sensor is not exactly a big ticket item. When part came in the next morning the BMW tech had it installed and wired by the time I caught a ride from the manager back into town. Now I'm no spring chicken when it comes to bikes and I've dealt with my fair share of good shops. NONE of them come close to the experience I had with VanWall. If you ride bikes, atvs, or scooters do yourself a favor and pay them a visit!

We contacted several automotive glass repair places in the DSM area and no one was willing to repair the chip. Glass Doctor said "Sure bring it on in!" We felt confident enough in their abilities to have them go ahead and fix it, which they did with no problems! And the price was very, very reasonable!
