Let me start off with the location. If you crave sweets after a meal, this place is attached next to Michoacána which is a Mexican ice cream business. So right after your tacos you can walk right on over for a light treat. We got a burrito which was a good portion! 3 rolled chicken tacos and carne asada fries. Food and service was good. The horchata I highly recommend.

I love Chile relleno burritos, so of course I ordered one. And it was huge! I appreciated the salsa bar where I could get as much salsa as I wanted. The spicy red one and mild green one were my favorites.

I placed my order from George who works at the front counter. I ordered the Number 1 , it includes One Combo Plate includes : one cheese enchilada, one shredded beef crispy taco, refried beans and Spanish Rice. For my beverage, I chose one can of Sprite Soft Drink. My total bill was $13.00. Everything I have eaten at Valerie's Taco Shop was very tasty. I love eating their Mexican cuisine. I received excellent customer service from George and the food was served to me quickly . George called my name and I picked up my order at the front counter. Valerie's Taco Shop was very busy during the lunch hour with a lot of customers placing their orders walking inside their Valerie's Taco Shop. I am a regular customer at this location and I have eaten inside this place several times in the past when I had to get my car serviced by both my repair shop on a previous basis. Niko's Automotive Repair Shop and my current shop at Golden Wrench Automotive Shop that I was getting my car serviced there yesterday on Friday, July 12, 2024. Valerie's Taco Shop has always given me excellent customer service from their cashiers George and Maria. I also did receive really delicious Mexican cuisine.

Omggg this place is an absolute gem! The food was authentic and truly delicious. The staff couldn't have been more attentive and friendly. Ordering was quick and easy, and the whole family enjoyed their meals. Can't wait to go back!

Food is fantastic. I love everything they sell. My all time favorite is the carne asada burrito. The service is always great. The ambiance is awesome. They share the space with michoacana and sell drinks from them too. Its an amazing combination

Parking lot is small always tough to find a spot Placed my order Took longer than it should have Combo plate #4 listed at $10.89 plus tax. I was charged more and no receipt in the bag. I always have problems with this location.

Waited in line at the Starbucks drive-thru and noticed this taco shop. Always willing to try new places, so I called and ordered three soft tacos: carne asada, carnitas, and abobada. She kept asking me what size and I just said large. I didn't realize they offered the smaller street tacos! The streets tacos are also only $1.99! Ugh. Came inside to pay and they were still cooking my tacos. It's really nice to see first-hand that they make the tacos "to order", meaning as the order comes in. There isn't a bin of overcooked carne sitting in a warmer tray like some places do. While I waited, I poured a few salsas to try at home. $14 for three large (and I do mean large) soft tacos. When I got home, my wife and daughter all shared the tacos and at the end we were STUFFED. Wow. The abobada was the real star, too BTW. Prices are great. A California Burrito is $10.79 right now...making this one of the cheaper taco shops in the city and that is great. I might have just found a new go-to

One of the better taco shops in North County. Quality of food and taste were my two main takeaways. Vista residence seem to agree as Valerie's was constantly busy with togo orders. Always a good sign. California Burrito - fries, well-trimmed asada, cheddar cheese, and well thats it. This is a basic version of a California Burrito, but you can buy other ingredients like sour cream and guac if you like. The burrito was delicious and generous with the asada. Perhaps it could have included some pico de gallo but they do have a salsa bar to add your own. There was one issue with our meal however and it was with their enchiladas. While the enchilada sauce, the sides of beans and rice were really good the shredded cheddar cheese inside the enchiladas was not melted inside. Just a pile a shredded cheese. Overall Valerie's was a pleasant surprise and well worth trying. Cant wait to come back and try their famous burriro bowl.

Receipt, asked for pico to be on the side.
    Abel O.

Food is good, but they charge for simple stuff. I asked for the pico to be on the side. The same pico that goes into the burrito. This is whack.

Chilaquiles and the NOW empty drive thru of coffee next door.

You enter and there is an awesome salsa bar with many salsas, Mexican carrots and onions, chopped onions, and so much more, Mexican soccer (ok, futbol) on the tube, homemade aguas frescas, and real cooking happening behind the counter. You should be convinced by now that this is the real deal. I beg you: please do not order a bean and cheese burrito here. The adobada burrito is wonderful. It is perfectly-sized and the meat is freshly-cooked, well-seasoned and delicious. I have no doubt every item on the menu tastes great, probably even the bean and cheese burrito. With your burrito, you get two small plastic cups for salsa and a baggie for carrots or peppers or whatever. It is 25 cents for each additional salsa cup, which seems a little steep. But whatever you do, make sure you get the chipotle salsa. It may be the best salsa in history. It is honestly that good. I drove 25 minutes getting there and another 25 minutes getting home in order to try this place out, and there is a taco shop a quarter mile from me that I happily passed. I would make this drive every time.

Came in for an early dinner and to try this place out. Have heard many things via social media…read more For starters, we got complimentary chips & salsa. The salsa was good IMO, though the rest of the table thought it was too spicy. For drinks we chose a Mexican Candy ($15) and Hibiscus Margarita ($14). They were okay. I think not really worth the price (barely any buzz). I'll probably stick with a beer next time but that's okay. For food, we ordered the Chile Relleno & Cheese Enchilada ($20), Queso Birria Taco Plate ($18) and for me, the Fajita Mixta ($26). Everyone liked their food. For me, I've had better fajitas elsewhere (Mariscos Hualtulco is my fav) but these were still good (except no green bell pepper for some reason). I noticed the *new* menu price for the fajitas was $29 (Mixta), but on the bill it was still $26 (old menu price). So be aware, the new price is coming obviously. I want to try the Molcajete but $38 is a stretch! Atmosphere was okay. It was a Saturday and although it was early, I expected a more vibrant feel, but maybe that comes later in the night. There was plenty of seating. Parking was okay, but the lot was oddly packed however even though the restaurant was not. I would come back to try something else on the menu, but with so many great Mexican options in our area, they need that extra something to attract more patrons. A happy hour with $10 margs for starters would be nice.

It was on a Friday night, the place was packed, and difficult to find a spot to park. The line to order was almost out the door, but still fast to get through, and we were quick to choose what we wanted before struggling to find a spot to sit and talk. After about 15 minutes, our order was ready and we got to enjoy our food. We started with the Carne Asada Nachos, Refried Beans on the side. The meat was flavorful, very tender, and plentiful atop a pile of crisp and fresh tortilla chips. The cheese was nice and salty and the sour cream was warm to the point where it drizzled over it all nicely. All in all, it was a very tasty start to the night. The only two issues I had with it were that the guac was a bit overly pureed, making it kind of runny. And the refried beans had a very sour flavor, making me think that they were over the edge of going spoiled. I had to thank my wife's aversion to eating beans, helping us avoid having them spooned on top, which would have ruined this course. I also had an Al Pastor Taco, Craft Coast Style. The whole it was crisped up well, the cheese forming a great crust on the inside of the taco. The meat was sweetly marinaded, flavorful and delicious. On top of it was a good amount of beans, onions, cilantro, and guacamole, making for a good sized taco without any overflowing. It was pretty damn tasty. So, our first trip out here had more highs than lows, resulting in a very positive initial dinner. I'm sure those beans were just a one-off, at least I hope they were. And there's still hope that the guac may have had too much lime or had been overly mixed this time around. A second trip is definitely in the cards, with more of the family to expand what comes to the table.
