The food here is 5 star all the way! We came for lunch after first stopping nearby. I have some "go to" meals when I'm craving Caribbean food. And this newly re opened restaurant bills itself as "Caribbean fusion". Although they do a large take out business, their airy and spacious venue is more than able to do inside dining. This is what we opted to do. They also have a bar/counter inside as well. They had a number of lunch specials listed on the board, and from that list, my husband chose the brown stewed chicken. I was craving oxtail as I'd seen a picture of someone's meal here with it. They have a takeout menu printed and a regular menu accessible via your phone. Both meals were served in take out containers with plastic ware. My husband requested some hot sauce as he likes a bit of spice in his food. The perfectly cooked tender oxtail came with tasty peas 'n rice (in this case small red beans) and sauteed cabbage with bits of added carrots. There were also some fried plantains. Added to the oxtail were some large white beans and brown gravy so delish that i wanted to drink it up. Eating oxtail is a science. You have to use your fingers to hold each piece and your teeth to get every bit of meat off around the bones and yet leave the fat. But it is oh so worth it. And I was in heaven. I brought some of the rice and cabbage home with me. My husband's order of brown stewed chicken was a tad easier to eat than my oxtail. But really, here too, the best way to get the full experience of each piece (there are bones) is to use your hands. He ate every crumb of his lunch! With no leftovers! The guy manning the fort today was the owner's son. He was so nice and friendly. Add that to the wonderful meal we had, and this place is definitely a keeper. Can't wait to come back again... soon!

This place is definitely NOT closed. 3 stars because I didn't try any food or drink. Just went for information. I stopped in tonight Wednesday 9/6/23. I saw 2 people at the bar and spoke to the bartender. Real nice guy. Hours are Tuesday to Sunday after 6pm. They are having staffing issues so no morning or day hours. If you know anyone looking for work! I was given a menu. If you are close stop by and give them a try. I plan to do this our next date night.

Lunch time and one of my wife's bookmarked locations took us to a wonderful lunch experience! With seating outside, if you desire, or in the spacious interior, the ambiance and delicious aromas wafting out of the kitchen are enticing. We were greeted immediately and offered QR code access or paper menus to review. My standard in choosing Caribbean cuisine is the Brown Stew Chicken and that is what I ordered. My wife chose her standard, and most coveted, Oxtail stew. A short wait and our lunches were brought to the table. Perfectly cooked. Hot and savory, my Brown Stew Chicken was accompanied by Peas and Rice with hot homestyle Cabbage. I asked for some hot sauce to go with my Rice and Peas and it was delivered immediately. Meanwhile my wife expertly and skillfully locked into enjoying her Oxtail. She enjoyed every bite of her lunch as I did enjoy mine. After we finished our filling and delicious lunches, we chatted with the son of the owner, (our server), and got a little history of the founding and opening of this great spot! Plenty of parking available and easy access. We will be back!

We were looking for a take out place for our Friday dinner and stumbled upon Valencias. We tried calling in our order but no one picked up the phone, so we tried once more and got lucky. We placed our order- a regular brown stew chicken with oxtail gravy on the rice and peas, and a regular oxtail. My husband went to pick up the food and said it was a little confusing to find the restaurant as it is in an event venue. Once he found an employee he was assisted immediately. Our takeout containers were packed to the brim with food. There was an insane amount of rice and peas, a small portion of steamed veggies and an even smaller portion of meat. Everything tasted delicious. I loved the brown stew chicken. The steamed veggies were also awesome and the rice and peas were very flavorful. I tried my husband's oxtail and it was also very tasty. The reason I am giving 3 stars is because there was very little meat. In my portion of stew chicken, more than half of the small serving was bone. I maybe got two small chicken wings worth of meat. Also, there was wayyyy too much rice and peas. Enough for a family of 4 in my regular size portion. The other issue we had is that they charge a credit card fee. I don't have a problem with the fee itself, but my husband wasn't told there would be the fee in advance so he didn't have the chance to decide to pay in cash instead. Overall it was a very tasty meal, and I'm sure we will be back.

First time visit. First impressions, clean, friendly, knowledgeable staff, dine in or take out. . Food quality excellent both in freshness as flavor. BRAVO. I ordered take out. The food was prepared and packaged in a reasonable time. I ordered Oxtail, brown stew chicken and the Jerk Chicken. I and the Wife have not one bad thing to say. Portion size was appropriate to price. You may say. What do I know about Carribbean food, my response is I've been eating it for over ten years. I was introduced when I married my wife. She grew up eating this food. They packaged/wrapped the take out containers to help prevent any spillage in the car. Utensils provided with napkins. This place is recommended and a must visit. I'm happy to give my honest (without compensation) review to this restaurant. I will be back.

Curry chicken, rice & peas, vegetable and plantains.

I have spent a ton of time in Jamaica and i know the food well. The best Jamaican food I've had in South Florida is at Valencia's Caribbean Cuisine. These 2 lunch specials of Brown Stew Chicken and Curry Chicken, served with rice & peas, vegetable & plantations were $5.50 each! The Brown Stew Chicken is the perfect mix of Jamaican Allspice and brown sugar to give it the sweet and spicy (no heat) deliciousness that it should have. The Curry Chicken has a wonderful heat to it without being "hot", just enough to have a little kick. I didn't think I'd report on the rice and peas but they are outstanding. I find so many Jamaican chain restaurants here skimp on the coconut milk that gives it that creamy element. This rice and peas was truly authentic. The restaurant inside is large and very clean but was completely empty at lunchtime. It looks like they're struggling and could use customers. Their Facebook page says they have outside seating. I am excited to go back and try the Escovitch Snapper, my personal favorite Jamaican dish, that they serve on Fridays. The prices are beyond reasonable and the food is delicious. The staff was very sweet and masked properly. If you're a fan of Jamaican food or haven't tried it, this is the place to go. Today was my first time there but I will be back soon.

The food was amazing. My husband and I had the lunch specials. I had the fried chicken and he had brown stew chicken. The lunch portions are big. I also had the chicken soup which was the best soup I ever tasted. The flavor was so rich. We will definitely go back and spread the word about this new found gem.

Best Caribbean food anywhere hands down!!!

Best Brown Stew chicken lunch special hands down!!! Who offers such a large amount of delicious food for so cheap?!! You can taste the coconut in the rice and peas. The vegetables are absolutely 100% the best vegetable I have had from any place Period!!! Most times they are hard and have no flavor at all and all boring. Here they have the perfect cook on them, just the right crispness to them. They are loaded with flavor, AMAZING flavor!! The right amount of seasoning !!!! The brown stew chicken is so succulent !! Sometimes at other big caribbean chains they do not give you that much meat especially for a lunch special. Their brown stew chicken and rice and peas taste exactly how my in laws make it in Jamaica!! I know anyone who gives this place a try will have found their new go to spot!! I know my family has.

When I walked in I was greeted by a sweet lady who was prompt to take my order. I ordered patties, Rasta pasta, jerk chicken, and festival. The rice & peas fluffy and great! The jerk chicken was probably one of the BEST I have ever had seasoned to perfection the chicken was falling off the bone. I loved how they put a jerk sauce on the side to drizzle on the chicken. On several visits they have also been out of plantains, with no effort to offer an alternative side or solution. What was most disappointing, however, was the overall condition of the restaurant. Multiple tables were dirty, making it difficult for customers to even sit down and enjoy their meal inside. It gave the impression that there is very little attention being paid to the customer experience. Located in the Coral Springs Plaza, Priya's Roti Shop has the look and feel of a true West Indian shop serving homemade Trinidadian foods such as various curry or stew meats, cook to order roti (paratha or dhalpourie), phoulourie, bake & shark, doubles, and so much more. There's also homemade sweets & beverages, as well as various bottles of hot pepper sauce, spices, split channa, kuchela, and other Caribbean beverages. I was greeted by a gentleman with a nice Trinidadian accent. I kindly asked for a menu while he tended to the other customers. The prices range from low to moderate. Lord I wish I could get a bit of everything off the menu, but I will just stick to what I mainly wanted - roti. When the gentleman was ready to take my order, I told him I wanted boneless curry chicken which was served with my choice of dhalpourie roti and curry potato. I also ordered six doubles and a bottle of mauby. There was a bit of a wait cause the roti had to be made, which I didn't mind at all. Then he made the doubles. I watched him as he laid down two bara (flatbread) then scooped some curried channa (chick peas) on each, topping them with tamarind and cucumber chutney. Once the food was ready, I took everything to an available table and your girl was in foodie heaven. I started with one of the doubles which was absolutely delicious! The flavors of the curried channa and both chutneys complemented each other nicely, and the barra had a yummy texture...moving on...the curry chicken and potato was also delicious and flavorful with a mild pepper kick. At times I broke pieces of the roti to pick up some chicken and/or potato like a true islander. The atmosphere was truly relaxing with Indian music softly playing in the background. I was casually drinking the mauby which was lightly sweet and refreshing. I am definitely looking forward on coming back to try other foods, especially the bake & shark.
