This was my first visit, and I will definitely go back. Dr. Hirschfield is really attentive and professional. And they stay on time! My issues were with the account creation and billing processes, and a lapse in privacy protection, but I won't ding the practice for those at this time. I was given an email prompt to go to a portal and download an app, and fill out everything there. I did. But when I got to my appointment I was told I didn't sign all of the required docs. I looked through the app and showed the front desk, and she couldn't find them either, so I had to do it on an iPad there. Not a huge deal, but a glitch that made check-in less smooth. Another awkward, and poorly timed request, was after the doctor decided to do 3 biopsies. I signed a doc to agree to them, and the nurse told me I had to pay the deductible for them before they could proceed. I literally had to get off the table in my gown, and go get my credit card out of my purse so she could process it while I waited. Really, really weird that I couldn't take care of that upon exiting. And honestly, not the best use of a nurse's valuable time! Lastly, I was laying on the table in a paper gown, at times with different areas of my body exposed, and during a period when a 2nd nurse or technician was coming in and out, the door was left open 2 or 3 times while she performed her tasks. I was in the first room, so every patient who entered walked by my room, and there were men, women and children in the office. I almost said something, but I was embarrassed and just wanted it over with. I hope they pay a little more attention to the privacy and dignity of patients. Still, I'll give it another shot because I liked Dr. Hirschfield. read more

I've been a reoccurring patient here. I enjoy coming here and have for years. When I have been coming in recently, I've noticed only one of the receptionists taking charge of the front while the other receptionist, talks on her personal cellphone and ignores almost every patient that is waiting to check in. I noticed this especially today. As many patients were waiting to check in, I couldn't help but be bothered by the fact the receptionist wearing glasses could not be bothered to get off of her phone to help her colleague to check patients in. Seeing this lack of professionalism by her at the front desk makes me question how professional this establishment is. The front desk are the first people you see, and who set the tone for the appointment. After seeing the consistent lack of urgency and continuous unprofessional attitude on the one receptionists end does not make me want to continue treatment here. read more

Dr. Hershfield is great and the office staff is very helpful and friendly. I'm pleased with everything I've had done here, both medical and cosmetic. The only minor complaint is about the telephone service. it's impossible to call the office directly and the people who answer the phone from wherever they're located almost never get things right the first time. I've learned to drive to the office to make appointments in person or check on a prescription. read more

Dr Hirschfield is a great doctor. But the billing is horrendous here. Not sure about HMO, but if you have PPO insurance they make you pay your "estimated patient responsibility" at the time of your visit instead of billing for it after services are rendered and final billing processing through insurance is complete. That amount ALWAYS is less because your deductible amount changes as there is likely other pending doctor visits waiting to be processed on your acct. Sometimes deductibles are even met already but doesn't show yet in system bc there are other pending charges waiting to be finalized...As a result there's an over payment to them. I've been trying to get an overpayment refund for my visit that was in November of 2025. It's now Feb 2026. That's 5 months!!! EVERY-TIME I call I get the runaround that I'll be refunded in 1 week and now I'm on hold again being told someone will "call back" regarding the matter. As far as I'm aware these billing practices are illegal. You can't charge ppl for inaccurate charges. Let alone take 5 months to pay them back. They need to evaluate a better way of doing this. They already take your credit card to have on file, so this makes no sense. Doing pre-auth then charging once billing is completely seems like more of an ethical option, so patients don't have to constantly call to get refunds for over charges. Plus you can never actually speak to anyone in billing dept which is ridiculous, phone calls are outsourced. It's very frustrating. As I said, Dr Hirschfield is great, but this is enough to discontinue going this practice. read more

Do not go here. The billing is awful. They don't answer the phone. The doctor that was to perform the MO's procedure saw me and my situation and didn't recommend it. So there were no services done after waiting for over an hour. I had to go into the office twice to get my refund and even then they only gave me a partial refund because they said I saw the doctor and a copay was due. read more

Their billing department is a nightmare. I keep getting a bill from two years ago, that doesn't reflect the payments I have made. For one, when I had the proceedure done, I paid out of pocket via a CC because the billing department claimed they could't get my insurance to verify. Then I find out months later, they not only charged me, but they also billed my insurance company. I had to argue with them to refund me since they basically double dipped. Then almost two years later they send me another bill for the proceedure, and keep sending me the same bill that doesnt reflect the actual payments made. PLUS the billing statement has a billing number on the bill from a company that no longer works with this Doctor. I have the receipt of payment from my bank. Someone at this facility needs to recitify this situation or I will have no choice but to report to this business. read more

I love doctor Hershfield, however I've had nothing but issues with billing every time I try to go back. First time was years ago and they double billed me for everything. Luckily I could reproduce a spreadsheet just got a bill out of the blue for a service last August for over $760! The insurance EOB was last year, why did it take a year to bill? I lost my option to use my HSA card and now all services are billed at once. I can't get in touch with anyone but billing. They switched billing companies it seems (for the third time) ... they need to do better with billing / paperwork read more

I scheduled an appointment today for a dermabrasion. I even asked them if they were going to be open for sure and they said yes they sent me a reminder yesterday via text to be here at 8:30. It is 8:45 on a Friday after Thanksgiving and there's no one here. Last year when I came I waited forever...maybe a bad day. A year later show up on time and still wait MINIMUM of one hour before being seen. It's absolutely ridiculous and annoying. Dr came in super rushed didn't answer any questions I had and said just use moisturizer over the counter (I have an autoimmune issue). Then Front desk demands I put cc on file even though Dr said no need for another appointment and check back in a year. Definitely will find somewhere else that's respects my time read more

First they told me when I was contacted by a collection agency that it wasn't a collection agency, but a billing company. I just got a text, A TEXT, from a licensed collection agency over my almost 2 year old "debt" for 30 dollars. Valencia Dermatology thinks it's smart business to send a 30 dollar debt to a collection agency. After taking between 30-50% this will get next to nothing other than one mighty pissed of former patient. read more

I went in for my first facial today and it went amazing! Yocelyn was so kind and did an exquisite job. I came in with a dry skin, clogged pores, black heads and came out feeling and looking hydrated, my face has never looked or felt this clean and smooth. Anybody else having this issue? Their billing department is sooooooo bad that they delayed billing so long ( 2 yrs) that the insurance company won't take the claim and now the clinic wants all the bill paid by me instead of the insurance. Is this a scam on their part?? I have spoken to billing to make sure they have correct information at least 30 times. They have switched billing companies multiple times with the last one only lasting a little over a month( that's how often I talk to them). If there are others out there with the same problem should we band together and take legal action? read more

The office offers patients the ability to book appointments online, and when you call them does specifically call out this option. But, it is clear the online system does not sync with the local office calendars. Any appts made online are cancelled the next business day by the local office, saying the doctor is "in surgery" or there was a triple booking. It is clear corporate and the local offices are not aligned or working on the same program/scheduling tool. Sometimes they are able to workaround this and still get me in, which I appreciate, but it creates future issues because the local office may allow me to come in without seeing the doctor, but the call center operators will not. This creates an inconsistent experience and level of support. When asked why this continues to happen and who I can talk to about it, I am told I can talk to the office manager - no contact info is given or calls returned with this. When I told I can talk to the district manager about it because this is clearly a larger issue than just the Valencia office, again, not an ounce of contact info or follow up is done. All around, very poor management of the provider, office, and patients time for such a simple thing. read more

This office has so many issues I don't know why I keep going. I won't anymore. I had a skin cancer biopsy over a month ago. After two weeks, somebody finally called me and I was on the phone. I called them back immediately with no answer. I followed up that phone call many many times leaving messages for the person that called me. I also emailed the person a couple times as well. I finally got a hold of her today and she says that she does not listen to voicemail and is not allowed to respond to email. When I asked her then why she did not continue to try to get a hold of me. She said it's because they have so too many patients! They have two less now )me and my daughter). My biopsy results were positive. I have skin cancer and apparently no one was ever going to make sure I got that information. They also will not email me my results and I have to go in and get them! read more

This place has such friendly and informative staff, im always thankful for their service and my skin has improved a lot over time. I really want to thank Liz, Ada, and Cynthia (the receptionists) for their offers and assistance . The nursing staff is great too, I love Melany's chemical peels a lot. Amanda is very kind and sweet and definitely relaxes me when i am typically very scared in doctor offices. The Dr is very informative and helpful, and i appreciate how considerate she is and detailed. The person working in the pharmacy is also really great, she is very helpful and always trying to assist in any way. She is very polite and informative ,yet easy to talk to and relate to. I have been coming to Valencia Dermatology (also known as the Skin & Cancer Institute), for the last 6 months, since being diagnosed with a malignant melanoma (cancer) in my arm (initially removed by an amazing Doctor in Australia and again by a really great oncologist in LA, prior to my referral here). I can't speak highly enough about Dr Kristine Hirschfield and her staff, particularly Amanda (Manager), Maraiah (the best!), and Yocelyn! They are incredibly knowledgeable, kind and caring. Dr Hirschfield also found 2 further skin cancers that other cancer dermatologists had not picked up - so I am beyond grateful to have found them. I lcan't recommend Valencia Dermatology & their entire team highly enough! read more

I came down from San Francisco to see my favorite Doctor. I have been following Dr.Cabral for over ten years now. When I walked in, the receptionist was very sweet and pleasant and when Doctor Cabral saw me he gave be a hug and thanked me for coming all the way down to see him. He gave me a good look over from head to toe and even arranged for me to get Blue light treatment on my arms right after I saw him. He was pleasant and extremely professional as always. I felt like I was visiting a friend. Obviously if I am willing to drive five and a half hour's to see Dr. Cabral, when there are some of the best Dermatologist in the San Francisco Bay Area I could see, that must tell you a lot about just how good he is. Dr. Cabral caught a Melanoma that another Dermatologist missed. She took a picture of it and said come back in six months. I asked her to remove it, then the she called two weeks later and tried to underplay it and said it was an evolving Melanoma but it wasn't Melanoma yet. I was so angry, I searched for Dr. Cabral because he was with Kaiser for a while and I didn't have Kaiser Insurance. I found that he had left Kaiser and was in Santa Rosa. He did Moh's surgery on it four and a half year's ago and it has not come back anywhere. Thank you Dr Cabral for taking the best care of me. read more

It has been extremely frustrating working with this office in Stevenson Ranch. First off, they dont return calls, I have had to leave multiple messages and finally had to drive down to address a couple of concerns. Second, my pharmacist has been trying for days to get a hold of them and finally asked me to call them or go physically to their office to have them re-work a prescription. I will now have to go back to their office to figure this out. When I did go to their office the first time around and asked them as to why they have not returned calls in days, they said that it was an issue with their call center and that there is nothing that they could do. Looks like they have gaps in communication between their call center and their local office(s). We went with great hopes but the service has been sub-par unfortunately, and this was our first visit. read more

I love Dr Hirschfield and her nurses are so nice but the office is basically so disorganized and mismanaged I don't know if I'll be coming back. They never pick up the phone, it is a hassle to get a prescription refill. When I go in for an appointment the wait times are very long. One time it took me two hours to get out of the office for a consultation for acne medication (an appointment that takes 15 minutes tops). I've been going here for years but I'm to the point where they aren't getting better. read more

I recently went to get Botox and a chemical peel in this office. The professionalism that the staff attends your need with, is beyond words. I came in to see Dr.Hirschfield for my Botox and the results were amazing. I love my refreshed look. I really don't have good customer service experience with this place. This review is only based on my three encounters with this place. I didn't see their medical doctor, so I have no input for that. First, I was emailing back and forth to setup an appointment. I showed up on my scheduled time, I was told that I didn't have an appointment. I showed the front desk my email, and she didn't know what was going on. She even told me she doesn't know the person I was emailing back and forth with. Long story short, I rescheduled my appointment to different date. Second, on my appointment date (first consultation). I arrived about 10 mins early. I wait 10 more minutes after my appointment time. The front desk told me I had to wait until the provider finished seeing other patients. There was no other patients there! I only know it because I saw the provider standing in the back of the front desk chatting the whole time I was waiting. (I didn't know he was the person I would be seeing at first, otherwise I would just point it out). Finally, after my consultation. The provider told me his recommendation. He told me because the laser machine is out for maintenance and it would take about three to four weeks to come back, I should check in again in a month or so. I called again today and come to find out, there is no plan to have lasers machine in this location at all. They never had the machine and will never have it. I waste my time trying to work with this place for no reason. read more

I had a great experience and felt completely covid-safe! I went for a consult about a month ago for fillers and saw Nadia. She was honest with me about what was realistic and what wasn't (they're not just in it to take $$$). That's really what made me decide to go with them for my procedure. The office manager Kristen was SO friendly (both during my consult & this morning) and accommodating in making sure I was eligible for a discount the manufacturer was offering. I have been seeing Dr. Hirschfield for years.She is amazing with cosmetic procedures ( perfect Botox placement) as well as my medical issues. Liz, the receptionist in the front is so professional. She multi tasks 7 things at once and still finds a way to make you feel special. Even if they are short staffed, she still has a smile and handles situations with grace.
