Also she messed up around the ears bad... it's a good inch higher on my left side and not a smooth line at all! Not to mention I sat at the front (in the waiting area) and Shannon came out 7 min late saying, "oh I didn't see you there!" Where was I supposed to be? I don't know how they do on ladies cuts, but men, stay away from Shannon at the very least! Highly recommend checking this place out! I'm very picky with my hair so I'm always hesitant to go to a new place. I had my hair cut by Shannon and I'm very pleased. One month before my wedding, I had a hair and makeup trial at another salon in Breck. It was a nightmare:(. My poor mother weighed our options as I was having a major meltdown. She decided to reach out to Weemala after receiving recommendations from a local wedding planner and a planner associated with Vail Resorts. The owner Jessica was kind and reassuring and confident they could help us out of this crisis. They miraculously were available to do our hair and makeup for my Friday wedding and also fit us in for a trial the day before the wedding. After having such a bad prior experience, I was very nervous. But, Jess reassured us that she only uses people with 10+ years experience on wedding clientele's hair and she herself will be doing our makeup. After Ashley met me at the door of the salon upon our arriving late and hurried (as we had a lot on the agenda for the day before the wedding), I knew I was going to be in good hands. She was cool and confident and made my hair look even better than the picture I had shown her (the same exact one I had shown the previous salon). I felt a HUGE weight off my back disappear. I literally almost cried just from relief and gratitude. Ashley then did the groom's hair trial (he has longer curly hair that can sometimes be difficult to manage). I had a small concern that I couldn't quite put my finger on. She figured out what was bothering before I even could, and then she immediately fixed it. On the actual wedding day, it looked even better than it had the day before. She did my three bridesmaids' hair and our moms' hair - all of which looked amazing. I seriously cannot thank Ashley enough!!! :) Jess is a truly gifted makeup artist. She knows what foundations will look better when photographed, she listened to everything I said, and she trusted her judgment enough to know what will look great on me. And, it did! On the actual wedding day, she did individual fake eye lashes that looked so beautiful and real, I forgot I had them on the next day. My bridesmaids and our moms' makeup looked equally beautiful. It was perfect! It was beautiful and special but, we still looked like ourselves - only enhanced versions of ourselves! Jess was so calm and eager to help us, I will be forever grateful to her and Ashley both. A bonus is that both Jess and Ashley came to our hotel the morning of the wedding. I didn't think it would have be problematic for us to go to a salon, but it actually was way more relaxing and much less stressful having them come to us. It made things run so much smoother. Thank you Weemala for saving us, and thank you for helping to make our wedding wonderful! We both felt awesome, and you were a hugely significant part of that! So, a few things that didn't go well at this salon. I came in for cut and color. Second, my blowout was "eh" but I say two other ladies get their blowouts done as if they were headed out to the hollywood red carpet. Third, my cut and color was much more expensive than my two friends that had it done a few weeks before and were charged much less. And something that bothered me since I was a perfectly new client to this salon....the lady who did my hair was talking poorly (very negatively) about one of their colleagues who was working right there in the salon. But as I could tell this worker was completely functional and did their job cutting many (4 or 5) gentleman's hair during the course of my 1.5 hour appointment. I've tried to reach out to the owner a few times to discuss and she will not coordinate a time with me to discuss. I'm a local, would love to endorse this salon, but given my first time experience here....I will not go back and would not recommend.
