$105 oil change? Vahe used to charge $65. SMH. After leaving the shop, realized they didn't cancel the oil change light on my dash. Went back. Was told by Luigi, "can't cancel oil change dash light coz there's other dash lights". Hmmm, Vahe was able to cancel them before with no issues. I looked it up on YouTube and showed it to "Luigi". He said, "I already did, doesn't work". I ask him to try again following the YouTube instructions... and guess what? It worked! Oil change dash light is gone! Luigi got out of the car and walked away looking perturbed. Haha, did I hurt his feelings? So, 2 things. First, he shouldn't have let me leave without telling me that he couldn't cancel the dash light. Maybe he thinks I'm stupid and won't notice. Bad service. Second, the guy is incompetent. Part of his job is to make sure things are done right. Will I trust someone incompetent to work on my car again knowing he doesn't care? I don't think so. I know 6 other people who "used" (they won't now!) to come to Vahe. Because Vahe was an honest, caring and kind person. We will surely miss Vahe. May he rest in peace. read more

I had a rattling noise for two months in my car. The BMW dealership said they could not hear it. I found by on yelp and figured I would stop by and see if they can figure it out. He was very professional and courteous, lifted my car up probably spent 45 minutes investigating and looking around and was able to pinpoint exactly where the rattling was coming from; referred me to a muffler specialist and did not charge me a penny for his time. I am SO grateful to have found Vahe. Thank you for all of your reviews! This man is the real deal, he's honest. How hard is that to find in the automotive industry? I looked him up and took my car in after Bob Smith BMW just finished telling me that I needed all new brakes, all new tires, and a new battery...all to the tune of some $2500?? Anyway, I took my car to Vahe, and first thing he asks me is "are the sensors on?" And we all know the BMW sensors ARE sensitive. He checked them out, and he's like - you got at least a couple thousand miles on them. I knew I found my guy right there. I asked him about the battery, and he said "just go to autozone, get the battery, and I'll install it for you." Bob Smith wanted to charge me $500 for the battery install. I went to autozone, paid like $225 with tax, and Vahe installed it for $40!!! Like really?!?! Where do you find people like that anymore?! The man has clearly been doing this forever, and he's still in the game. You wanna save some real money (I saved half) and have someone who knows their stuff take care of your baby? People, people, if you've got to drive the product of Bavaria, Vahe is your guy. No kidding. Sure, it's on one of those stretches of Winnetka. There's no Kuerig in the lobby. There's no lobby. My 2011 328i just went out of "free service." I called Vahe because I needed new brake rotors. I also called Bob Smith and Bavarian Motor Works. He was $300 cheaper than one and $200 cheaper than the other. (You can sort out which one was which). He checked with me twice to make sure the car wasn't still in "free service" zone. Then he checked the brakes and discovered I still had life on them. (I neglected to tell him I knew it was the rotors because it shimmied under braking). Let's take a moment. He tried THREE times to not do the work. When he did it, it was cheaper. By a lot. He's been there 31 years. When he asked me how I found him, I said yelp. He smiled and said, "oh, you're one of those." They may be expensive, the werks of Bavaria. But why spend more so you can have a donut and coffee while you wait? There's a 7-11 right up the street. He will tell me honestly if something needs to get changed and when it should get worked on. And do not think I drive a BMW, I drive a Honda Civic. Since, my warranty expired I have been shopping for an independent BMW service shop. It happened that my lowbeam went out so took the opportunity to do my research. Bob Smith, Calabasas wanted $125, Bavarian Workshop, West Hills wanted $225 claiming it was xenon. Vahe BMW popped the hood open, remove the bulb, told me it wasn't xenon and charged me $30 for the bulb and resetting of my engine oil light. Guess where I'm going to service my BMW from now on. I just left Vahe's shop and sat down at my office and wanted to post while still fresh in my mind. I needed a new mechanic since I always felt the guy I've been going to was taking me to the cleaners. I turned to Yelp to find a solution. I stumbled across Vahe's Yelp page and was astonished to find such overwhelmingly positive reviews. Finding a mechanic that you feel comfortable with these days is proving harder and harder and I couldn't be happier with the service I got today. I needed a simple oil change and a little steering wheel shaking problem fixed. Dropped of the car at 8am and was surprised to get a call at 11am telling me the car is ready. Vahe told me that the steering shaking is probably bad rotors. Instead of trying to sell me on some new ones and up-selling the brake pad, he told me to keep driving it if I can deal with a little shake in the wheel. He said once the brakes are close to needing replacement he'll take care of it all. This way he can save me some labor costs now.!!!! A mechanic not selling parts and labor?? Unheard of?!?!? Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised at his honesty and integrity. You can tell he is a good man and a great mechanic. I researched Yelp after losing contact with my usual go to BMW repair guy. (His shop closed) Due to the rampant shadiness in auto repair, I was seriously stressed when I was told by my girl that my 07 325i had lost power and almost stalled when she was driving home. Knowing how temperamental bmw's can be when they're not feeling well, I immediately called AAA and had it towed home. This was a Sunday night. I contacted Vahe 1st thing in the AM on Monday, and had the ride towed to his shop with in the hour. Vahe was busy but very nice and assured me that he would find out the issue and call me. Cut to 2pm same day; Vahe calls me and tells me that one of the spark plugs that was replaced about 6 months ago, was, 1. The wrong spark plug for my model, 2. It was made to fit by a Mickey Mouse adjustment from the last mechanic. (Remember the car was loosing power on the road and almost stalled.) Vahe could have told me anything! But he told me the truth! And that truth was only a $100 fix! I was so impressed by his honesty and his customer service that I requested him to change the oil, fluids and air filter. Because I had instant trust! I also have a Range Rover that needs service soon, Vahe recommended the shop next to him because Vahe rents the space to them and he said he would only rent to honest people! Amazing! That is all I have to say. My car was with three other mechanics before I came to Vahe. There was a complicated elictrical short triggering the SES light. Vahe and his electrician spent hours finding the short and repairing it. I also had asked him about my drive belt and idler tensioner as there was a minor squeeling sound. Vahe told me it wasn't necessary to fix yet. A rare breed, honest and ethical mechanics are hard to come by these days. My E36 has a lifter, maybe exhaust noise so I stopped at Vahe's to have him check it for me. He was a bit busy but took the time to listen to my car. He's going on vacation so he told me to bring it back after he comes back. But he is so honest that he told me the noise was a probably a lose spark plug and it was not big thing. My 17-year-old son just purchased a 2011 328i BWM $500 under the Blue Book value and I felt I needed a mechanic to take a look at it since it was used and I wasn't sure if there may be something wrong with it. I brought it to a local repair shop listed locally on Yelp with decent reviews and I the repair person looked under the hood saw a leak and said it looked like the engine gasket was leaking which would be about $750 to repair but he would need to schedule a full engine check-up for $175 to test everything first. I was skeptical about his pricing so I looked online for another reputable Yelp second opinion. Luckily this time I found Vahe and man.... I hit the jackpot! I drove up to Vahe's BMW garage and although his shop was full of autos, it was at the end of his day and so he came out to meet me and to look under my hood. He found the same indication of an oil leak and said, "let me put it on the lift" where he proceeded to take a closer look to find where the leak was actually coming from. The source of the problem was not clear so he recommended just to do a regular service oil change to make sure the leak was only located in the one point that he could see. I asked him if he could also take a quick test drive to make sure the engine and everything else seemed to be running correctly since it was our first BMW. To my surprise he obliged... so we took it for a local spin and he said so far all seemed pretty good but would look deeper upon the oil change. He didn't charge me a cent for looking under the hood, putting the car on the lift or taking time with me for a test drive which took about 30 minutes! I can't remember the last time I ever had such a nice, knowledgeable guy as an auto repair person?! We scheduled and did the oil change and he actually found 2 place where it was leaking. He repaired both leaks which were a bit labor involved with replacing the gaskets and together with the oil change my total bill was under $300?! I was amazed and so grateful! Vahe is old school which I appreciate and he has a lot of integrity with his work and how he treats his customers. He's not just out to take your money. I feel he's really there to help people enjoy their cars. Try him out and see for yourself! I HIGHLY recommend Vahe's BMW! He's the BEST for your BMW! read more
