My usual dentist was on vacation. This was an emergent appointment, so Dr. Nakashyan came to my rescue. I was having SO MUCH PAIN which happened suddenly and I was no way going to wait for my usual dentist. Dr. Nakashyan was gentle when he administered the injection prior to removing my tooth. I had to see him several times and each visit was short and quick to the point. He placed the bone graft with ease. Once it's time, I will see my usual dentist for the implant. I would highly recommend Dr. Nakashyan. He was patient and very professional. Nice touch of calling the patient that same evening after the procedure. My usual dentist does that as well. VERY nice office with comfy seats and good magazines. The staff is nice as well. The gals at the reception area are pretty nice as well. They take Delta Dental. Plenty of free street parking. I saw Dr. Nakashyan a few years ago. The only reason why I haven't been back for a while is that I haven't had any periodontal issues. I was very comfortable with Dr. Nakashyan and the whole team. The front desk team was always very pleasant and knowledgeable about my insurance. Dr. Nakashyan was very gentle (I had 2 surgeries from him.) He has a pleasant "bedside manner." Now, I do need to see him, and am very glad that he is still in the Burbank office. I had a standard case when I clearly informed the receptionist that the front tooth needed and implant, and the only reason I did not do with the present doc was because he told me could not guarantee it showing gap after placing the implant. She also knew that the doc guaranteed positive placement. While she told me that after some times many patients come back and Vahe Nakashyan does redo their failed implants, she refused to talk for a second with the doc and find out if he guarantees treatment of this common gap or not. She kept requesting me to come, pay $180 just for that. I even offered her to talk with the doc, and if he can answer to this question just call me back or text, and I can come to get this evaluation. but not just for talking 10 seconds they still want me to pay $180. Red flag - not going, that's not how you treat people. Also, she telling me bunch of people come back and the doc does their failed implants again is another big red flag too. read more

My mom saw Dr. Nakashyan after being referred by our general dentist for extractions and implants. Our initial consultation appt was excellent. Dr. Nakashyan did an examination and explained the treatments, alternatives, pros and cons. We went with his recommendation and scheduled my mom for extractions and immediate implant placements. My mom said he was thorough, kind, and professional during the entire procedure. He was explaining as he was going along and she said he was so kind to his staff and that's a big plus for me!! Dr Nakashyan is hands down the best periodontist. I have been to this office several times for my periodontal care. Feel blessed to have found Dr Nakashyan! I've had problems with my implant that another doctor implanted. Went for a few consultations to several doctors. No one really was helpful. I had so much discomfort. No one was able to give me relief. Finally, Dr Nakashyan figured it out. He was so patient with my million questions and frequent visits. He's truly amazing. His injections, you don't feel it! Just amazing! He has such gentle touch and so personable. On my first visit, they took a set of x-rays, the doctor explained in detail what I need to have done. Then we scheduled several more appointments to treat my gums around the implant. My implant feels like a natural tooth now, the gums around it are normal! No pain, no bleeding, no discomfort. Truly, Dr Nakashyan is second to none in his field. Trust me, I know! He gave me the care I needed, the attention and let's not forget how wonderful the staff is. I was referred to Dr. Nakashyan by my dentist to check out some gum recession I have and I want to say it is that best referral I've ever had! Today, I had the gum graft procedure done and I was very nervous at the start. I have had very bad experiences with oral surgery in the past but I felt Dr. Nakashyan could be fully trusted and therefore, had hope that the procedure would be less scary than I imagined. From the start, the assistant made sure I was comfortable by giving me an ipod and headphones so I could listen to some music and distract myself. She then went through all of the follow up care and when Dr. Nakashyan came in, he went through it a little bit as well to be sure everything was clear. Dr. Nakashyan always makes sure your questions are answered thoroughly before you begin your appointment and after. Needless to say, the gum graft procedure went well. I got to see the before and after photos of the graft and it looks beautiful! (kind of weird to say about gums, I know). I had a gingival gum graft three weeks ago and couldn't be happier with the result and my experience with Dr. Nakashyan. I hate the dentist and was extremely nervous for the surgery. Dr. Nakashyan answered my numerous questions before and after the surgery and made me feel as comfortable as possible day-of surgery. At my pre-op appointment, Dr. Nakashyan recommended getting a stent made to cover the roof of my mouth where tissue is taken. I wasn't going to do this because I hate getting impressions, but changed my mind and was so glad I did. The woman who did the impression was very gentle and it wasn't as bad as I anticipated. After the surgery, I wore the stent for the first 48 hours and then when I ate for the following week. The roof of my mouth didn't bleed and I didn't have the pizza burn sensation a lot of people get. Definitely get a stent if you need to do this procedure!! The surgery itself took 1-2 hours, including time to numb the areas. I didn't feel anything when he gave me the shot. I had to sit up a few times because I was so nervous, even with valium, and could taste some blood (the worst part), but Dr. Nakashyan was very nice, patient, and worked as quickly as possible. Before I knew it, the surgery was over. I felt a little sore and numb, got a milkshake, and took 800 mg of ibuprofen. I didn't need anything heavier than ibuprofen and was off the meds completely by day three and back at work two days after the surgery. The hardest part was sticking to a soft-food diet for two weeks. Overall, this surgery isn't as bad as people make it out to be on the Internet. My advice: Don't read horror stories online, go to Dr. Nakashyan, and follow his post-op instructions carefully. You'll have great new gums in a matter of weeks! read more

I had an infected cracked wisdom tooth removed today by doctor nakashyan and it was the least stressful/painful dental appointment I've literally ever had (and I have had a shocking amount done for someone who's only 30). He is careful and patient and incredibly gentle. And didn't even make fun of me for bringing both my boyfriend and mom into the room with me. He's clearly a wonderful human who happens to be an excellent dentist and oral surgeon. Honestly I can't think of one thing I would wish he had done differently. He's amazing! I would recommend him to anyone, even people like myself who are terrified of dentists and dentistry. He's a great surgeon. Let me just start by saying that I've had issues with my teeth most of my life, so I've gone to the dentist many times. When Dr. Nakashyan gives you a shot, you don't feel it!! I mean, there is no discomfort at all! I recently got an implant placed, and I thought it was going to be the most uncomfortable thing, but I'm happy to say I was wrong! I've gotten shots before, but I'm amazed at how I didn't feel anything this time. And nothing after, either. I highly recommend this dentist! And I feel that I have the right to give him a 10 Star rating, Instead of a 5 star rating. Let me explain. I had four teeth done by a fabulous dentist from the Vietnam War, Trained by the United States government. He had 50 years experience and did four implants up in Oregon State. Then I had three teeth done by another dentist with 10 years experience in implants and he was not very clean dentist, and I suffered from an infection, but did not lose the teeth that he did. Decided not to go back to him. I LOVE THIS DENTIST! The office staff is spectacular personality wise, so you feel very welcomed the moment you open the door. They're very professional, and listen to what you're saying, and take care of the questions that you have upon entering the office. They explain everything articulately! The doctor is I think an old soul in a very young body! He is full of life , extremely intelligent! And obviously the implants are a passion to put in properly! He is extremely light to the touch when working on your mouth. And I feel of the three dentist that I went to that he is the most professional, and did not hurt me once during the procedure! You will be well advised to choose this dentist, do you have your implants placed by him. He cost me so little pain that I didn't need any painkillers! Dr. Vahe Nakashyan is an excellent periodontist. I've looked for 2 years for a periodontist. I had several consultations before I met Dr. Nakashyan, and after I had my first meeting, I was able to see how gentle he was with his hands and also how knowledgeable and professional he was. That is when I decided he would do my procedure which consisted of an extraction followed by bone graft. The experience was so smooth, during the procedure he constantly asked me if I was comfortable and if I was in pain. I did not feel any pain which was my biggest fear and he was always very gentle with his hands. After the extraction I thought my face would swell and that I would be in a lot of pain, but my face did not swell at all and the pain was minimum. I am so glad I waited until I found the correct person to do it. I have friends that have gone through the same procedure and was very painful. He truly takes the time and care with his patients to be gentle and to explain what he is going to do/doing. I got a gum graft done last week and he truly took the time to explain to me beforehand what to expect even down to telling me to dress warmly/comfortably and bring music since I opted to be awake during the procedure. During my pre-op, post op appointments and even DURING my procedure he took the time to answer any and all questions and make sure I was ok at all times. He also went above and beyond and called my orthodontist and dentist to put together a plan that would insure my Invisalign progress was affected in the least way possible.
