I have not been heard about how much I am I pain I went here because of the "spine specialist" info and some reviews. I have already paid for CT scans, chiropractic appointments, X-rays, PT therapy and among so many medications prescribed I was at my wits end. I had my eval appt and waited over an hour to be seen. They told me my CT scan wasn't exactly enough info they needed to help me and told me to get an MRI for further recommendations for surgery or PT care. My insurance wasn't going to cover a second imaging so I paid $400 for the MRI and had to pay $150 for Dr to tell me to get an MRI to get the best possible path forward. I agreed- They called me for a follow up on my results and made my appt. When I arrived, I was checked in and after siting for 2 mins they called my name. I was very slow getting out of my chair when they called my name again. I apologized for being slow to get to the desk and they just said I had to pay $150 for the follow up appointment because I didn't have my deductible met. I said I don't have that money; I was just here a couple days ago and need to discuss follow up. They told me if I can't pay in full I have to reschedule. I was so upset. I was missing work, in pain and I asked to bill my insurance or something and they said no to reschedule when I could pay. This was a scheduled follow up to discuss a test they made me do to be able to get any additional care from their providers. They didn't offer any assistance how to pay towards my visit, just that I can't pay so I had to leave. I called my insurance when I left and they told me a claim for my follow up visit would have been covered, this was strictly the clinic refusal to not file the claim. I won't reschedule. I'm disappointed. Don't recommend

Parents, please be aware…read more My 22-year-old daughter was seen at Texas Orthopedics for a broken ankle. At her second appointment -- just 10 days after the fracture -- Dr. Robert Blais asked about her pain level. She explained that she was still experiencing significant pain. At that point, he stated he was concerned she could have Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). We were stunned. It had been 10 days since a confirmed broken bone. From what we understand, pain at that stage is not unusual. While waiting for imaging, my daughter searched CRPS online. She discovered it is sometimes referred to as the "suicide disease" because of the severe, chronic pain associated with advanced cases. By the time we left the appointment, she was in tears -- terrified that she was facing a life-altering diagnosis. Whether CRPS should or should not have been mentioned that early is a medical judgment. What is not debatable is the emotional impact of introducing a severe, worst-case condition to a 22-year-old patient so soon after a routine fracture -- without clear context about probability, diagnostic criteria, or reassurance. The result was immediate and profound distress. Physicians absolutely have a duty to consider complications. They also have a responsibility to communicate carefully, proportionately, and with awareness of the psychological impact their words carry. This was our experience. Parents and patients: ask questions. Ask about likelihood. Ask about timing. Ask whether a concern is common, rare, or simply precautionary. And if something feels disproportionate, seek a second opinion. Advocacy matters.

Taylor Lackey is professional, knowledgeable, and very well manages his time. Most of my visits, I have be able to see him in just 5 minutes. Only one time that I needed to wait about half an hour. Overall never a very long wait. Dr. Lackey well planed and it really helped saving patients' time. When he knew the reasons of my visit, he ordered me for an x-ray in prior to see him, and he told me that I could call to get an MRI order without the need to go to his office again. I have seen Dr. Lackey for my tennis and golf elbows, my dislocated tendon at my pinky finger, and lately a lump at my inner elbow. He is very attentive and provided me with the necessary physical therapy and medication. Claudia, Dr. Lackey's Medical Assistant, has been very kind, considerate, and attentive. She has tried her best to coordinate the doctor's orders and the x-ray unit in order to make it as fast and effective as possible. She has gone over everything slowly to make sure I understand everything right. Maybe the clinic has been too busy lately causing me a hard time reaching her. I left 2 voice messages and have been waiting over 48 hours, but never got a call back. I needed to leave the 3rd message before getting a call back causing me almost unable to get my MRI scheduled before my long trip. The front desk ladies or the scheduling ladies are very nice, always very helpful and are excellent at their jobs! When she knew I couldn't get a schedule at Austin Sports Medicine Lab, she recommended me 3 other labs in Austin and the near by areas and fax out my MRI order to all other labs right away. Finally, I could get my MRI scheduled on the last day before my traveling. I have experienced some difficulty at the x-ray unit inside Austin Sports Medicine. I have had conditions at both of my arms, but the x-ray technologist did the x-ray only one of my arms. I told him right away, but he refused to check even if I asked him politely and more than one time. When Claudia found out, she talked to the technologist and asked him to do the x-ray again for my another arm. Instead of fixing the mistake and having me next in line, he seemed upset and put me the last in line! And this time I waited over 30-40 minutes and still couldn't get an x-ray. Ended up Claudia told me that Dr. Lackey would pull my old x-ray for my another arm, so I didn't need to wait longer. I just wish the technologist was cared to listen to patients and spent a little time double check things. It could help prevent the mistakes from happening and save a large a mount of time for both patients and himself. In Sum: I highly recommend Austin Sports Medicine and Dr J. Taylor Lackey!

Not very impressed with this office at all…read more First - There is zero parking available. (The worst I've ever seen at a doctor's office). People were circling, and alot were parked illegally, even in the grass. I was forced to park next door at all the retail shops, even though there were a ton of signs saying they'd tow. Not really a great first impression. Second - My appointment with Dr. Meghpara felt very rushed, and was not near as thorough as other doctor's I've seen (and what I would require to consider it a worthwhile visit). It was my fault for not getting x-rays from another doctor over in time before my appointment (the office didn't remind me to bring any, and I honestly just didn't think about it until a few days before). I did bring my MRI images and report, and he basically said he had no use for those. I asked if we should take another X-ray at the office, so that he could see my current state, and he basically said it wasn't necessary. He also had me do only a few movements in the office (totaling about 10 seconds) to test out my pain, whereas two other doctors had alot more comprehensive exam. He then proceeded to give me his opinion without examining any x-rays or (from what it seemed) the MRI CDs I had brought in. He just went off of what I told him my situation was, what my last doctor had said (a few weeks before), and basically agreed with that assessment. At this point I was just ready to leave, as I was already disappointed and knew that he is not a doctor I would return to. I wish I would've just avoided going there for another opinion, and wasting $80.

In 2016, I went to Dr. Padalecki after years of shoulder dislocations and instability and he was so helpful, kind and knowledgeable about my injury. His staff was also extremely helpful and accommodating in scheduling my pre and post-surgery appointments. When it came time for the operation, Dr. Padalecki performed expertly and my shoulder healed flawlessly and was fully operational after a much shorter than expected recovery time (1 month). My Physical Therapist was honestly shocked at the quality of the surgery and how quickly I recovered. This morning, I went back in because I was concerned that I had injured my knee and again, Dr. Padalecki's staff got back to me moments after I submitted a request for an appointment online and scheduled me first thing the following week. The appointment including X-Rays and consultation was quick and painless and I left with peace of mind about a go-forward plan for my new injury. I would highly recommend Dr. Padalecki and his team to anybody dealing with joint instability or injury. Last year, I referred another friend to Dr. Padalecki and she left with the same experience - you will not be disappointed!

It was such a pleasant surprise to go to an office that was not over crowded and the front staff were friendly and helpful. (I used a different orthopedic group for foot surgery and experienced large, overcrowded waiting rooms, long lines for checking in and out, and late appointments.) ATX Orthopedics treats you like you are a very special patient and not just a number! When I met Dr. Gallagher, I could tell he was very knowledgeable in the field of orthopedics and after he looked at my knee x-rays recommended knee replacement surgery. I told him I could not live with the pain anymore and was ready to take the next step. He told me he uses a method of pain management that helps speed in the recovery of his patients. I was referred to a pain management specialist who deadened some of the nerves around my knee a week prior to surgery. This procedure was relatively painless and enabled me to have knee surgery, at Pinnacle day surgery, and go home the same day! I couldn't believe I was walking with a walker the same day as my surgery and sleeping in my own bed. If you follow his instructions and do the exercises, go to physical therapy, and take the prescribed medications you will be on the road to recovery before you know it! It has been a month since my surgery and because Dr. Gallagher is an innovative, caring surgeon I am well on my way to keeping up with my grandchildren again.

I knew I was hurt but didn't know how bad, and he took PLENTY of time and answered all my questions before recommending that he place 3 pins in the joint - my risk at that point was a displacement which would require a full replacement - I'm 48, no thanks! During surgery he went the extra mile as well - Titanium pins, and only three tiny incisions, when he could have done a much larger incision. He is an absolute professional, with a great personality and sense of humor. Is he busy? Sure - great docs are always in high demand. My recovery was perfect and he was very attentive as I healed. I would go back and see him in a heartbeat. Two years later my dad (72) was struggling with problems from a hip replacement from 5 years past - done in Dallas and using the now known faulty joint. I sent him to Dodgin who instantly gained his trust and admiration. My Dads surgery was very complex, as he had lots of damage from the bad joint - it actually took two surgeries and many hours to fix (known as a revulsion) - Dr. D told us he would heal slowly and may always need a cane, but he actually walks without one, and recovered very well. I credit Dodgin with the talent and care that took care of my Dad - there are many that would have rebuilt the hip with other more extreme measures. Dodgin had the skill to get it done right. I have never sensed him as arrogant, but instead confident - the way I want my surgeons (and pilots :-)) to be. He is caring and attentive, and yes, pretty busy. I am happy to wait a bit for the best. I would recommend him to anyone. He is top notch.
