I had a TERRIBLE experience at The Broken Blade in Port Charlotte…read more My 3-year-old Toro lawn mower wheel broke off the deck while I was mowing. I dropped it off and explained clearly that I didn't want to put a lot of money into repairs, if it was too expensive, I'd just buy a new mower. I also asked if they could check on warranty coverage or if welding was an option. They are a Toro dealer. After not hearing back a few days, I called and was told they had done a "full diagnostic" and that repairs would cost $375 on a mower that cost $500 new. On top of that, they charged me $50 just to tell me the mower wasn't worth fixing. The entire assessment took seconds, no actual work was done, and at no point was I told there would be a fee. If I had known, I would never have authorized it. Instead, I was blindsided with a charge for information I already suspected: that it wasn't worth repairing. I caution any one for going to this place. They do not care about their customers and I will NEVER go back there. This was one of the dumbest business decisions to fleece me for 50 bucks. I will tell everyone I know not to go to this place.

They were very expensive when I…read morepurchased them in 1987 and they were beautiful with their inlay design and holly banding with crotch mahogany. Over several years. the lacquer finish deteriorated leaving several sections of bare wood exposed and the tables looking quite beat up. I did not want to trust them to anyone who might be a well meaning amateur but who could easily damage the inlay, banding and crotch wood. After a few years of searching I found Gino, visited his shop and was impressed by his work. I gave him my tables and after two months he completely refinished them back to the way they were when new. He did an excellent job for a fair price for work of this high level of craftsmanship!
