Then when I balked at some over priced merchandise I was addressed as "bro" and told to check online. I had gone to a local bike store looking for a fair price not a super deep discount, I am happy to support local business and when I shop locally I even pay cash to help local merchants reduce their expenses. The person who was working in the store, owner I would guess by how entitled he was, was clearly offended by my appearance I have long hair and a beard and he made it a point to tell me his dog was related to a dog that recently chased down some terrorist. Just for the record I'm a combination Italian and white guy for from North Carolina, and for an Idea of how long my family has been in the county my mother and sister are daughters of the American Revolution. No matter what nationality you shouldn't have to put up with this kinda crap, this is America. Avoid this place at all cost. There is another bike shop about a 1/2 mile away that is clean the pries are well marked and feels very professional, go there, don't waste your time with this guy's little shed.

(You know, the ones that don't wave when they pass another cyclist on the road. Yeah those guys.) But when you give the people the idea that you're a true cyclist and that you at least care about the subject material, they can be surprisingly quite helpful and friendly. The first time I came in here one clerk talked and talked about all the local area rides, races and such and you could tell he was a true lover of cycling. He was good for filling my friend and I in on whatever we needed to know. We aren't hardcore road cyclists but we build our own bikes and he was great with helping us find out about parts and accessories. Another time I came in to buy a freewheel cog and even though they didn't know exactly what I was looking for, they pulled down a box of unusual things and let me dig through it. Depending on what you get the prices can be okay, but generally speaking, and as it is a TREK store, the prices are gonna be quite high even when compared to more modest (less flaunting) bike shops. So in terms of staff friendliness and helpfulness, this place definitely wins out.

We waited for awhile to be acknowledge but the 2 workers were helping someone but they never took their focus off of them until those customers left. So anyway the guy asked if anyone had been helping us I replied no and explained I was looking to get fitted for a bike and he did show me 2 bikes and even let me test drive them in the parking lot. He concluded that I needed a medium size hybrid but the bikes were wayyyyyy out my price range so we looked at a used bike also and it rode well but I rather keep Looking before I buy a used bike. The guy was helpful once he acknowledged us but Trek bicycle is has hefty price tags for bikes so be aware, they also repair bikes so that's good to know.

Tod had many different E-Bikes in his shop and he works on all of them. We ended up buying an Addmotor Grandtan 340 Trike for my wife and a Velotric Nomad for me. Josh gave us $200 off each bike, he gave us free helmets, locks, mirrors, bike locks and we had to buy a bike carrier for our bike and trike and got $200. off the carrier. I have a two year and my wife has a 1 year warranty on our bikes. If any problems during that time or later Tod will warranty his bike or repair it. We also met a family of 3 from our neighborhood in Raleigh that bought 3 bikes while we were there. Tod does it all, answers the phone, sells, repairs and and answers any and all questions you have. I cannot even get East Coast Bike Shop to answer their phone to ask questions and they had at least 3 employees in the shop when my wife and I visited the place about a month ago. Conte's Bike shop was very helpful when answering questions but after extensively checking the reviews we did not buy a Rad E-Bike Trike. I know that if and when we have problems with our E-Bikes that we have to travel to High Point but we will peace of mind that it will be done right the first time.

I called them one afternoon and spoke with Tim who told me to bring the bikes in. I arrived 30 minutes later and Tim greeted me with a hearty welcome and introduced me to Jacob the bike mechanic who checked the bikes in for a level one tuneup. Three were different types of tuneups that your bike can get; a level one starts at $80 and that includes checking the gears, tightening the chains, adjusting the brakes, checking the inter-tubes and tires and filling them with air if needed, and washing the bike. Level two and three encompasses a level one plus more. The bikes were supposed to take a few days, but Jacob got them done the next day. This is a great local bike shop, not only are they quick with the repairs but the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The shop is clean, and fully stocked with a large selection of bikes, helmets and accessories. Oh yes and they do offer a 10% discount to Police, FD, paramedics, and Military. Cabarrus Cycling highly recommended!
