After taking a close look, the team explained that the bike had not been assembled properly originally and that completely disassembling and rebuilding it likely wouldn't be worth the cost. Instead of simply sending us away, the staff at Sourland Cycles went above and beyond. They made all the necessary adjustments right there while I waited, got the bike riding safely again, and then told me not to worry about the cost. Service, care, and genuine kindness can be hard to find these days, but the team at Sourland Cycles demonstrated all three. The manufacturers (which I am writing to--everyone of them) should no longer do business with this establishment. They are certainly not customer forward facing. My son and I went in on a Saturday to inquire about a 660 Aprilla. They didn't have the one he wanted in their shop, but Brian (relatively new in his rol) said he would call around to see if he could find one and get back to us by COB that day. Keeping in mind Brian was the bright spot of Flemington Powersports; nice, professional, customer forward facing, and a good listener. However, Brian, again new in his role, had no decision making power. Anyhow, we never heard back from Flemington Powersports and my son ended up calling them that following Tuesday. Here is where it gets real... They transfer him to the "Finance Manager", Amanda. Amanda seemed to be bothered that we were following up, but said it was all good, they located the bike he wanted, and we were good at the previously agreed price, but the interest would be 13.9% with $8k down and my son's 760 credit rating. I thought it was time I meet Amanda. Upon reaching her, I asked her to explain how could this be the case? Good credit, $8k down on a $12k bike, how did we end up on 13.9% interest. She threatened to hang up if I didn't lower my voice. At no time did I raise my voice, I simply asked logical questions, that she was not use to receiving. She then goes into that was the "first offer". To which I replied; "does Flemington Powersports only deal with one lending institution?" Her retort: "When did I say that?" "You didn't say it, I'm just wondering why you'd stopped at 13.9% if you could get a better rate for a customer that's bringing you business? "You're not the customer and I'm not going to talk to you about this". "Ok, your choice if you don't want to talk-- but I feel Flemington Powersports and Its partners, have predatory lending practices if this is what they're doing." "I didn't do a hard check on his credit, so the rates could change." "We are here to purchase a motorcycle, why wouldn't you do a hard check if the in inquiry resulted to a 13.9% interest rate?" Back and forth we went with no understanding of her actions, nor did I get a logical explanation. We ended the discussion with Amanda telling me she will no longer discuss this topic with me as my son is the client He's not a client of Flemington Powersports and it's my recommendation that you do not spend your hard earned money on a company that works with banks to take advantage of potential customer. I'm reporting them to the Better Business Bureau, as their business practices need to be investigated.

I wanted to send a note regarding my recent experience with your service department…read more I brought my bicycle in for repair and was quoted approximately $220 plus tax to repair the shifter and chain, along with the recommendation that the handlebar tape be replaced. When I asked about the timing, I was told there were 12 bicycles ahead of mine and that it would take 10 days before the work could be completed. I was also informed that if I paid an additional $100, my bicycle could be moved up the service queue and completed sooner. This would have brought my total cost to roughly $350. Instead, I took my bicycle to a bike shop in Hamilton, where the repair was completed promptly for $50. I appreciate that this experience helped me explore other options and ultimately save approximately $300. Unfortunately, after being a customer since your days in South Brunswick, I have decided that I will no longer be shopping at your store or using your service department. I am sharing my experience so that others can make informed decisions when choosing where to have their bicycles serviced.

I never feel like I'm being sold to. In fact, I feel like they don't charge enough for the services they provide. Recently my wife and I did bike fittings with Arounkone. The sessions were extremely helpful, detail oriented and not rushed at all. We learned a lot from him. He trains elite cycling teams and is an engineer, so he has a lot to offer in terms of insights and knowledge. Despite the high level of services and expertise that Kyle and Arounkone bring to the table, their services and sales are extremely reasonable. I always leave pleasantly suprised when I get the bill, which rarely happens these days. It's a high-end bike shop with low-end prices! I highly recommend this bike shop!

There are other terrific shops just south of Frenchtown in both New Hope (New Hope Cyclerly- Nick and his crew put a huge smile on my wife's face with her new Trek Hybrid. She is now a big fan) and in Lambertville (Pure Energy- AK and his crew are pros and know how put you on the right machine.) Even further south is Knapps Cycles in Lawrenceville NJ. My fault for not checking, but I put some of my trust to the bike shop for doing a pre-sale inspection... guess not. I've called 5 times now about getting the tube bag and Jennifer claims she mailed it 3 times. Every call is a new excuse. All I wanted was the bag that was supposed to come with the bike and the task seems too difficult for her. If you buy a bike here check it over extremely well before you leave because they have a book of excuses to use if anything is damaged or missing.
