Have you finished pouring out your troubles to a really good set of ears (therapists) and then gone home and you still cannot deal with your troubles? She helps to unlock the tool box and teaches you HOW to use each tool, in a methodical, effective and wholesome way that works and STAYS! This program cleared the mess in my head and gave me clarity, calmness and consistency up there. It has spilled over into all aspects of my life, ones that I didn't even think needed fixing. Some of the messier and murkier troubles were peeled back like an onion, with Liz's persistence and seem almost laughable now. Her "somatic experiencing" works seems simple: light touch and deep nurturing connection, but it goes extremely deep. In the first few sessions, I mostly rested in connection and safety. Thereafter, though, arose some really intense healing and emotional/traumatic release -- once my body felt safe with her, I guess. I was amazed in her capacity to work with and hold the range of experiences moving through my being. I really feel a strong maternal presence holding me, meeting deep attachment needs I didn't know that I had. Critically, I feel very safe with Amy, and really trust her to handle what arises. I have done talk therapy for years. And consider myself quite in touch with my body (yoga teacher certified, etc.). I also thought it could be some kind of emotional issue as well, I was desperate and tired of being hunched over like an old lady. What I got was so much more. Not only did my back pain go away, but I got major transformation to boot. My relationships have improved. I started dating (after being single for 2 years), and I'm feeling more present and "in-my-body" than I ever have before in my life.
