I am new to Montclair and wanted to get a fresh shave and brow clean up for my first day back in the office. I hadn't been to a barber in quite a long time, so was a little nervous about what to expect. With all of the options in town I wasn't sure which shop to choose This shop was clean, comfortable and Frank V. made me feel right at home! He did a great job and took time to explain what he was doing through the cut. I walked out feeling like a million bucks! 10:10 recommended! I'll be back for a fresh up in the future. read more

My son went in for a haircut. Walked out an hour later with a lopsided, amateur, joke of a cut that had all his friends laughing at him. The cool, expensive barber experience is hype. The guy who cut his hair was vaping the whole time. They took advantage of my kid. He's bummed out and is gonna give himself a buzz cut. Fifty something dollars down the drain. read more

This place is excellent. I go here and so does my son, who they're so patient with. Really recommend V Sosa. It's great

Believe it or not this was my first time getting a haircut in an actual barber shop and it certainly did not disappoint. Julio and the rest of the folks are super friendly and professional. Pricing is more than fair and the atmosphere is great (especially if you are a sports junkie like me). I will definitely be coming back again! read more

Awesome cut - Julio is the man! takes his time and you always come out of his chair looking fresh

Just moved and found this great barber shop grooming bar for my son. Making an appointment is easy and these guys are the real deal. It's got a great vibe in the waiting area which is a huge plus. read more

Angie works at a new location, so I have a new barbershop. I had no problem with her previous shop; in fact, my sons still go there. This new place, however, is definitely a step up in terms of comfort and aesthetics. There are couches and televisions; it's nicely decorated, and the barber chairs are very comfortable. As for me, I would go to Angie for my haircuts if she operated out of the back of a van at the Brookdale Service Area on the GSP. Nobody else has ever provided me with such consistently excellent styling, and she's very nice. My wife is also a fan. So it's a nice bonus that her new digs are so agreeable (and unlike her previous spot, they take plastic). read more

If you live in Bloomfield, Glen Ridge or Montclair definitely recommend going here if you need a haircut/beard cut. More so, highly recommend booking with Angela. She's amazing at her craft and she is really friendly. I've been going to her for the past 2 years - and I won't see anyone else. She's that good. read more

Hands down my favorite spot to get a haircut. Always feel better walking out than I did walking in. Ask for Angie, she's the best Barber I've had read more

Came in to see my guy Zane for a faded cut. First off the energy in the grooming bar is high, people laughing having a great time , music made it seem like a great place to be. Zane is by far the best barber I've had in a long time. If you're in the Montclair area come see Zane if not then make the trip. He's worth it. Personable , detailed and a perfectionist. read more

I followed Angie to V.Sosa because she seems to make my hair look great and frankly, I never give her much of any direction...because I don't know... Although I look very young...I'm old...so most places I've been to can be uncomfortable...but it's a nice, warm salon...I should give a 10 Star. 5 for Angela and 5 for the owner for hiring her...and building a nice place and a welcoming business... read more

They don't call her Angie Fades for no reason. She's the best barber I've ever had and you can tell she actually truly cares about each hair cut. No matter what she's being paid, she deserves more! read more

Activate Rant: I scheduled a Saturday-morning appointment with Frank for my two-year old son. The appointment was made at least three days in advance. On the day of the appointment, Frank refused to cut my son's hair. Frank stated that my two-year old son might not sit still while he cut his hair simply because he was the age of two. He claimed that it might take longer than usual to finish his hair cut. He further indicated that he had other scheduled appointments for that day, and did not want to risk interfering other people's appointments in-the-event my son did not sit still while during his hair cut. This is what Frank said to me out loud (to my face) in front of his colleagues and customers - less than one minute of walking through the front door. Very rude, very unprofessional. I wanted to smacked hell out of the guy. I was about to smack the hell out of the guy. I should have smacked the hell out of the guy. But I reconsidered. My life experiences taught me that Frank's comments were likely racially motivated (the tone, the style, the manner in which), certainty discriminatory nevertheless. And it's probable that Frank would NOT have made that assumption had I (and my son) look like one of the light-skin Hispanic barbers working at the shop. I say this because, after Frank finished spewing his foolish assumption/statement(s), none of the other barbers in the shop (including a female) look at me to say, "Hey, i'll cut the kid's head" or anything to lessen the impact of Frank's stupid ass assumption/statements. So, I won't go back.ever! And neither should you, especially if you're a person of color with young children. Because I get the feeling that they just don't like the melanin. V. Sosa Grooming Bar, barber's who cut young kid's hair potentially have a customer for years because they grow up. But ya'll don't understand that.you silly twats, especially you Frankie. They do not really pay attention to you if you are a new customer. A guy came in who was obviously a client for a while and knew everyone but the person that was cutting my hair just starting talking to him which I didn't care with but he got so distracted that he completely messed up my hair and cut it way to short. read more

Daniella is the best barber hands down! Her skills are unmatchable and she is very personable. There is not a hairstyle she can't do! The whole shop is amazing from the coffee bar to the mimosas ..definitely recommend read more

They did a great job fading the sides and took the time to use a straight razor on my neck and around my ears. When I said the top was longer than what I thought we had agreed to though, the barber got annoyed, checked his watch and said I should have told him at the beginning. He hacked at my head as quickly as possible with some scissors, going way too short and making the top of my head look like a poof ball. I was shocked speechless. Even if I was to speak up, the damage was already done. What could he have done, grow my hair back and start again? Leave this place to the Pauly Ds and Situations and go to Comb instead. read more

The shop is incredibly nice. Couches in the back, with a large tv, while you wait. Prices completely in line with what you expect, and the service is unmatched. Honestly, you more than get what you pay for. I get my hair cut my Angie. If you are particular with your hair, and rarely trust people, might I suggest her. Overall, would recommend. read more

Daniella is great. I love getting my hair done here. The place has a nice vibe. They are a versatile barbershop. They can do women's hair well too. read more

This place will exceed your expectations from the moment you walk in. I was looking for a 'mom and pop' shop, where barbers were passionate about their craft. This is the place. While you wait for your cut, you can take in a game and drink a beer, wine, coffee, etc. (Tip: Saturday's they had college football games on every tv). Frank, one of the founders of the shop cut my hair. His co-founder was in the chair next to him. The banter about the football games made it feel like a real community shop. All of that however, would mean absolutely nothing if the cut wasn't good. This cut was GREAT. I have been searching for a solid fade for quite some time. My hair grows in weird directions, is crazy thick, and I have somewhat of a goofy shaped head. Frank navigated these issues, which have lead to terrible cuts for years, with ease. I loved my cut and more importantly, my wife really loved it. Services received: Hair cut, beard shave, eyebrow trim. Came with hot towel, straight razor neck line. When Frank told me my total for all of this was $45, I assumed I was getting a first timer discount. I have been to shops where this service would be $75 at least! read more

Great barbers that are personable and know their style leaving you with a fresh look. The grooming bar has a great vibe and is easy to make appointments. Definitely recommend to all! read more

I am highly unsatisfied with my haircut. If your going here do not get your haircut by the barber Isaac albino. He sucks. My haircut looks nothing like what I asked for and I had to pay $30 for it. read more

The vibe is great. Beautiful shop, definitely feels more authentic than most barber shops in Montclair. I booked an appointment for my 8 year old son with frank, Frank did a great job on his hair cut. You can tell he does what he does with ease and confidence and as a mom that makes you feel really good when it come to your kids head! I didn't even feel the need to hover around- I sat in the side lounge that's how confident I felt. My son had a smile on his face the whole time. Not everyone does great with curly / biracial hair and I was truly happy with how my sons cut turned out. I know a lot of places don't prefer to cut kids hair so I want to thank Frank again for the attention and detail he payed for Jayden! read more

I recently learned about this new shop in town and have been looking for a local barber. It was easy to make an appointment online, even for the same day, and Julio did a great job on my hair and beard. The shop is cool, has a nice vibe to it, and Julio was very friendly and personable. Price was reasonable at $35 for a haircut and beard trim. I'll definitely be back. read more
