Third time here and they do an awesome job Clean friendly service Never had a bad cut read more

Terrible, just terrible from start to finish. Classic Man is the barber equivalent to getting your car's oil changed at the dealership. Takes too long, costs too much and feels like nobody wants to help. And the cut was half assed. read more

Ehh! Decent cut, rushed haircuts, does not accept card nor Apple Pay (cash only), not the most comfortable ambience, good for a last minute haircut ( Full Experience Below ) This is one of those places you go for a last minute haircut because your barber is booked or you're just looking for a quick cut (in and out) I got my cut with Kal. Cool guy. He did a decent job. It's not terrible but it's just not worth going back unless I absolutely needed a last minute cut. The sides were tapered noticeably uneven on both sides. One sides fade started way higher than the other side. The back fade was okay. The top okay. You feel rushed. The cuts are broken up into 20 minute windows. You don't have the time or chance to really look at your haircut before you leave the chair. It feels more about quantity here than quality which is a big red flag for me. If I'm paying $40 for a haircut the last thing I want to feel is rushed and uncomfortable. As soon as you stand up out of the chair someone is sitting down. Not the best ambience. When I think of a barbershop atmosphere I think of some tunes & conversation when I get a cut. Here the music was so low you could barely hear it. And on top of that the barbers were quiet ( all of them ) which was something I'm not used to in a barbershop. Cash Only They do not accept card nor Apple Pay which is inconvenient being every other barbershop / place does. They do have an ATM in the shop however it does charge a $2 fee. Pay for parking All the parking around here is meter parking. They seem to always have availability. Again this is the place to go if you need a last minute cut or if you just want a shop that's in and out with a decent cut. As soon as I left the shop I felt the huge urge to leave this review. Classic Man is a 3 out of 5 star barbershop at most. I wouldn't go any higher based on other barbershops I've been to. I truly hope this helps anyone interested or thinking about going here. Thank you for your time. read more

100% the best barber in the area. Been coming here for a little over a year now and Kevin is my guy. He's the best. Always makes sure I'm taken care of and my hair looks great. The service is phenomenal and I'm glad to have found a barber shop I can call "my place". Thanks for the stellar service! Highly recommend going here and asking for Kevin. You won't regret it. read more

Classic Man Cut & Shave - Barbers Near Me - Montclair, New Jersey

Liliya is awesome! She's friendly, personable and professional. She asked me what I wanted and did exactly what I asked for. Will be returning! read more

Okay, okay... it'll grow back! I stopped going here years ago because the cuts got worse & worse. Returned today and found that nothing has changed. As I arrived just before my appointed time, Chris, the person scheduled to cut my hair, was on his phone. Now, I understand that we all like to finish a text or conversation but as I sat there for a few minutes I had to wonder if he wanted to set the tone for who's in charge and who's time matters most. He was quickly impatient as I didn't know exactly how to explain the kind of haircut I wanted, basically a trim. Ended up cutting way too short in less than twenty minutes. The end result is uneven, has gouges where my scalp is exposed and much, much shorter than the "trim" I asked for. This is surely the worst haircut I ever had in my adult life. I did better during the pandemic cutting my hair in front of a mirror. If you don't mind big attitude and don't care much about how your hair looks this is the place for you. Otherwise, try one of the many competitors close by. And if the business manager dismisses my concerns and responds with "Is this a joke???" as he has to other negative reviews, it only shows deep distain for paying customers and a lack of deserving to be in the service industry. read more

What can I say? Kal is THE guy. I have been going here since I moved to the area over two years ago and haven't even thought about going anywhere else. I do a full haircut and beard trim at least once a month, and have also referred CMC&S to a number of my friends who now do the same. I have a son on the way and he will be a client as well (as soon as he has some hair!) read more

When I first moved to the Montclair area, I knew I needed to find a barber that not only can cut your hair the way you like it but also treat you as a part of the family and not just another customer. Kal and his staff at Classic Man's in Watchung Plaza was the place I chose. I enjoy the time chatting with Kevin, my barber, and he does a super job. This place has been my go-to for cuts since I moved to the area and I have not been disappointed at all. Friendly staff, great haircuts, and the MyBarber app makes it very easy to schedule an appointment with your preferred barber, which is great because you rarely have to wait more than a minute or two if at all. Also very child-friendly and do their best to accommodate walk-Ins expeditiously. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a barber in the area. read more

Classic Man Cut & Shave - Barbers Near Me - Montclair, New Jersey

I've been going to Kal at classic man cut and shave for a few years now. I tried several other barber shops around the area and nobody else compares. I've had a good experience every time here. They just completed renovations for a kid's area in the back section of the barber shop. They have a bunch of cool barber chairs for kids (plane, police car, etc) which seem pretty cool if you have young kids. read more

Usually I try not to spend more than 20 bucks for a haircut. But this place is totally worth every penny. The haircut was excellent. The receptionist was very polite, even offered me free espresso while I waited for my turn. I scheduled my appointment online with Kal. He is one of a kind. He is experienced, listens to you, and doesn't rush. read more

I love getting my hair cut. The trick is finding a barber that will listen to how you want your hair to look. At Classic Man they take the time to listen and understand your desired style. What I'd say I appreciate more is the professional input they give you when you ask them for their opinion. Kal has been cutting my hair for a little over a year and every time he does a great job. read more
