I've been to a couple of…read morechiropractors, but I really like going to Elite Total Rehab and Doctor Curtis because he is very knowledgeable and explains everything that he's doing and why. I've came here from a tight lower back and a bad left shoulder, and each time Dr. Curtis was nice, friendly, and professional. What sets him apart from the couple of chiropractors I've been to is that he doesn't pressure me about my next appointment. I know this sounds small, but to me, that's a welcomed difference; I don't feel like he's trying to milk additional sessions with him, and at the end of the day, he tells me to let me know how things go, and if I need to come back, I need to come back. I've been to chiropractors where they make me do exercises, only to see that the exercises that I'm capable of doing, I'm doing well, yet they tell me I need to come back again, and not only that, but for 3 or 4 more sessions. Not a fan man. When I went this time to get my lower back checked out, Dr. Curtis assessed me and explained to me what may have caused the issue, and what to do to prevent it from happening in the future. He also explained the whole adjustment process and the machines he hooked me up to. The overall process was pleasant and really helped. I would definitely go there again.

After such great care in 2024 for plantar fasciitis, there was no hesitation as to where to get the best PT. I returned in February with a frozen shoulder and could not have been in better care. I did go down the on-line search rabbit-hole and knew that this was going to be a long process and that can feel extremely defeating. With the inability to reach and the pain with movement, I appreciated that after a detailed overview in the initial visit, it was recognized that a big focus needed to be for me to be able to sleep through the night. As a side sleeper, I already had a month of not being able to sleep in my bed but on a couch forcing me on my back. This certainly wasn't a fast process, but we got there! Slowly I was able to do more of the things that I couldn't and had taken for granted. I can't thank Travis and Erin enough for consulting with me when I needed to decide whether to do surgery (as was suggested by my orthopedic doctor whom I had seen at a 5 week follow-up) or to continue with just PT. Their knowledge and guidance kept me on the right track. By the time I was discharged, I was not 100% but close enough that I knew that I had gained the knowledge needed to continue on my own. They also made sure to email me the most current list of stretches to work on at home. I miss the friendly 'hellos' that I would get when entering the facility and the chatting to get to know the folks who helped me. Thank you Travis, Erin, Sean and Jana! And thank you Katie for working with my insurance when we went through the glitches. All of you continue to shine like the superstars that you are!

Long review - but worth the read if you are looking for the best PT team…read more Sports & Ortho Sauganash is amazing! My Background: Having had 2 full knee replacements and now a hip, all at a "younger age", I have plenty of PT experience with most of the major players. Sports & Ortho - Sauganash team is a standout. Location: For me it is very accessible, nearby, street level and easy parking. It is a small location but it has all the equipment needed. Appointments and scheduling: They have both onsite staff and remote staff who support all Sports & Ortho locations and they respond extremely quickly, both to/through voice and email/website contacts. It was simple and quick to get an appointment and schedule my PT (3x per week). Hours of operation seemed odd on the website but IRL actually work well. I have never had a problem getting an appointment within my schedule. The Team: Assume this is the culture all over, but certainly the Sauganash team - therapists and the floor tech here are all extremely nice and well trained in their work. They know each and every patient by name and greet them coming/going and perhaps more importantly all of them have "eyes on" all patients regardless of whether it is their own and know any special needs, issues, things they should or shouldn't be doing or experiencing etc. They also understand how to work with /what works for you much quicker, and can customize and adjust your/my therapy sessions to provider faster and most effective progress. Everyone pitches in, the therapist talk to the patients, (not each other - unless they are collaborating about a patient). The PT/PA spends a solid 45 minutes with patients "hands-on", full attention, each and every session. I have worked with all of the PT/PAs (Travis, Erin, Deanna and even their intern Michael), every one of them is outstanding. Cam is the only floor tech I have worked with - he is a natural, very helpful, attentive and kind. In summary I can't recommend them highly enough - if there were more stars to award I would.

I am going to continue doing the exercises. Kristin is friendly, a good listener, and knowledgeable. I was a little sad to "graduate" from physical therapy because it was a friendly and helpful place. In addition to physical therapists, there are also chiropractors and massage therapists at CHPT. I plan on getting a massage. And to add a little more, I felt safe with CHPT's COVID protocols. My appointments always started and ended on time. Both of these were plusses for me.

A friend recently asked me why I walk 10 miles a day. My instinctive surface-level answer was to…read moresay it's good for me cardiovascular-wise and in every way. But truthfully, as I dug much deeper, it's so much more than that. It's freedom, it's endurance, it's strength. Ultimately, I walk at this level simply because I can! For me, walking at this level is empowering. It's action, fulfillment, and resolution. Physically, completing this mileage strengthens the heart muscle, expands lung capacity, keeps the baseline metabolism elevated to burn energy efficiently, builds total bone strength, and keeps the glutes, legs, knees, and feet feeling incredibly strong and powerfully supported. Immersing myself in Mother Nature on those long miles also completely releases and floods your system with dopamine, serotonin, and endorphins, instantly giving you a natural chemical reset. Unfortunately though, when I first set out to hit my stride, I unsuccessfully jumped in at a pre-pandemic pace while carrying some extra work-from-home weight. I assumed I could immediately walk at the level I was accustomed to, but I was very wrong - upon hitting the straight 4-mile mark, I severely strained my 3rd metatarsal on one foot and somewhat on the other. After receiving a referral from my phenomenal sports medicine doctor, I completed 4 months of physical therapy at this Athletico Physical Therapy Norwood Park location to strengthen my metatarsals, while also strengthening my hips, knees, and everything associated with removing strain from the metatarsals. Thanks to that targeted program, I safely increased my distance from a strict 2-mile doctor-recommended daily maximum to my current routine of 8-10 miles daily, averaging 40-50 miles a week. In the process, over the course of a year, I have successfully lost 90+ lbs. I am now at my college year weight, on the threshold of my late teenage, with the abundant energy of my elementary school days. I am so incredibly grateful to Joseph Godziszewski, PT, DPT, to Stephanie, to Tricia and to the entire team here at Athletico for expertly evaluating my movement patterns, listening to my goals, understanding my routine, and giving me the physical foundation to reclaim my health and freedom. I highly recommend them to anyone on a recovery journey!
