It's all in good fun (but seriously they will) I've been in here with my mom and sister a few times and both times they were invited to an outing or to Florida, etc. as a date. Once your self esteem gets a nice boost you're on your way to DIY fresh ground peanut butter and other nice items for a reasonable price. It's definitely worth a stop in to this nice little local market that is family owned.

Yum, yum, give me some Honey! Akron has some amazing Honey…read more I mean it's that good! You can taste the LOVE they put into each and every drop of their golden goodness! The owner is so friendly and they ship it out super fast! We have tried all of their honey and our favorite is. The fall harvest honey. It is so good and can be used in so many different preparations. It has such a deep and rich flavor. I put that sh!t on EVERYTHING! LOL From teas to biscuits really the possibilities are endless... Now I'm truly so excited that they have bigger jars! That was my only complaint and now the honey gods have answered my prayers! So you know I had to update my review and buy some more jars;) They get a solid 5 out of 5! They are doing honey a big justice! So if you haven't had any get some! Like right now! It's that good and I don't want you to miss out.

When I heard that he was selling a three pack sampler of his Middlebury, habanero hot, and bourbon barrel honey as part of a Virtual Yelp Event I knew I had to try it! Wes provided excellent communication and the honey was shipped out in a speedy manner. The honey was very securely packaged in an eco-friendly mailer and padding. Each glass jar was a petite size, and the package came with some recipes. I've tried the Akron Honey vinaigrette so far using the Middlebury honey and it's wonderful on salads. I loved all three flavors. The Middlebury honey is dark and has a pleasant, slightly tangy flavor to it. The bourbon barrel honey is AMAZING. You can really taste the bourbon in it, and Wes says it took a full year to develop this honey. The habanero hot is spicy as advertised and really packs a punch! It's a lovely combination of sweet+heat. As a honey hoarder (I've got varieties that range from mango to manuka) I was very impressed with the service and quality of honey from Akron Honey. If you are also a fellow honey enthusiast and want to support a wonderful business check them out!

Time for a current review - 2023. Somehow I came across this place on the computer and I told…read moremyself I had to eventually get there. Aug. 23rd 2023 I did. And glad I did. Boy is this a throwback to "old time" Cleveland. The Hillson website indicates they moved into this building in the '50's, even though it had been a powerplant type of building from the 1930's. One look at it, and it probably has you asking what was this building was because it does appear quite unique (seems to be more taller and squat). Anyway, their location is off Dearborn St., which is off of W 73rd street, which is between Clark and Dennison. Sounds residential. Yep, it is. For some reason it's located at the end of a residential street in a neighborhood that is greatly deteriorated (so don't think you are pulling into Crocker Park!). Up a couple of stairs and you walk into a very small room (maybe 10X10). On the wall is a list of the nuts, along with their prices. Everything seems to be sold in 1 lb bags. The cashier counter at the end of the room has a bell to summon service and still remains plexiglassed off from the customer Not sure if this is because of the area or not). In fact, I have no idea how they got me my bag of nuts. Maybe they opened up the door and handed it to me. All the basic nuts were covered (yes, pine nuts also) with a variety of options/flavors for peanuts. I picked up a honey roasted peanut along with a Siracha Ranch peanut and some pecans and walnuts for baking. I have tasted the two peanut varieties and am very pleased. They taste fresh, crunchy and tasty. This really is a step back in time. While there may not be too much to see (you could see the production floor through the plexiglass and there are old, yellowed articles on the wall), it is something I highly, highly recommend you visit, especially if you are a fan of nuts! Good products at very reasonable prices.
