This campus is beautiful compared to the main campus. While I was in town I decided to meet up with a friend in the area. One of my friends used to attend the main campus where I used to visit her frequently but now she has transferred to Architecture and now has the majority of her classes here. At first I didn't even realize this was a UTSA school because it's so NEW. The campus is small overall but the buildings are a sight to see.

The campus is nice & it's easy to navigate because of how small it is. Since I have night classes I don't have to fight for parking, but I wish the lots had a bit more lighting. Sometimes walking to my vehicle at 9/10pm it's hard to see, especially since you have to cross the busy streets to get to the parking lots. Other than the parking lot Issue the landscaping & look of the school is well maintained. I really like the hanging decorative piece called the "Lure" that is located in the Durango building.

I love the UTSA downtown campus. The location and parking is so much better than the main campus. The campus is not very big so all the buildings are easy to get to. I like the design of the buildings and I also love all the art that is all over campus. I feel like something is missing from the campus, especially the outside area but I can't put my finger on it. I feel like there needs to be more going on. I also believe that they need to implement the proposed child care program a student started a petition for. I think it's messed up that graduate students who are more likely to be parents do not have an option for child care like the main campus does (where most undergraduate students are).

Beautiful and very clean campus with state of the art facilities. It is an extension of the main campus located at: One UTSA Circle San Antonio, TX 78249 This campus is home to several departments such as Criminal Justice and Architecture, so if your planning on majoring in those be prepared to spend a lot of time downtown at this campus. SAPD headquarters is a stone throw away in one direction and the courthouse for the county is on the other side with a sub station, making this campus frequently passed with police cars making it seem ridiculously safe and protected at all hours. There are only two downsides: - Food is limited (there is a subway--hack hack) - Its seriously separated from main campus, making rush hour commutes a nightmare, plan accordingly.

UTSA campus at night - The MPA classes are all 5:30-8:15 so you have to walk back to your car in the dark

The downtown campus is home to several programs, including the College of Public Policy where I'm getting my MPA. The facilities are stunning, but not all that functional as classroom spaces. The grounds and the buildings are well maintained, always very clean. My biggest beef is that 100% of my classes are in the evenings, but the security presence on after dark leaves something to be desired. I shell out big bucks to park close so that I don't have to walk far to my vehicle.

In terms of accessibility, the UTSA Downtown Campus scores highly. I'm not too big of a fan of anything else, though.

Tailgate was horrible. They only had 5 port-o-potties. Their football team wasn't really fun to watch either.

I have not only been ignored by my teachers, but the administration is rude. I am coming up on a deadline to register for fall/summer classes, and I had refreshed my emails and messages for weeks looking for instructions. I had even called the school and emailed my advisor once I finally found out who she was. In the end, I had to contact the advising office to get a group email sent out so that I could get a response. This woman proceeded to say that she has tried multiple times to contact me (I have no messages from her), say this is a recurring pattern (this is my first semester here and i have never received any messages from her this entire semester), and ask the other administrator how they should address this as if I'm not in the email as well. She also asks if she should send proof, which I would appreciate from her because I missed my mandatory group advising due to this. In my opinion, this is highly unprofessional and the amount of miscommunication and lack of responses from the staff at this school does not reflect the quality of service they offer.

Advisors, faculty, and departments often provide little to no guidance, leaving students to navigate important academic decisions on their own. If your child thrives on clear direction, regular check‑ins, or structured support, this may be a difficult environment. Parents are kept almost completely out of the loop, making it hard to understand what your student needs or what's happening academically. Before committing, make sure your student is prepared to advocate for themselves and operate independently--because consistent communication and mentorship are not guaranteed.
