I called Utopia on a Monday with a dilemma. Another salon ruined my design twice. I just had a fill and designs and a pedicure with what was suppose to be a deep French. (Saturday) My toe nail broke (which never happens) I needed the French redone to match the base on my new nail designs that Van was going to do. Also I needed the deep French to be a deep French. When I called and explained the situation Van told me don't worry I will take care of it. I came in on Tuesday and Van removed my designs, prepped my cuticles as needed, fixed my toe nail and redid my French. I was a little skeptical because of prior salons and their incompetency. He did exactly what he said he would do. He took care of it. The designs he gave me were absolutely stunning. I will be back in two weeks!! I feel like I found my new salon. One nail cracked within a day and was bleeding. I went back to have it repaired and they basically put a bandaid on it when they should have removed it and given me an acrylic nail. It cracked again the next day, along with another nail. I went back to have them fixed, and had to ask for acrylic nails this time. The woman left a huge gap between my nail and the acrylic one, like she had never applied them before. She had to remove them and start over when I questioned it. Now I have two broken nails (one bleeding) on my right hand and one broken on my left. I've had this set for about a week. The one on my thumb started cracking naturally, no reason in particular, and the one that's bleeding broke when doing something as trivial as putting on my shoe. I've been here before since it's close to my place but don't usually come here. I dropped in real quick to take off the gel off my natural nails since it was grown out and wanted my nails to breathe for a little bit. I got the gels from my regular place. I went someone else before this to see how much they would charge to take off gels and they said $10 but the lady didn't have time and asked if I could come back. I left because I knew there was this place by my house. I was in a hurry. They charged $15 and upcharged $5 to reshape which is understandable. I said yes. The guy did it but I am not happy with the results. Mind you, I gave this place another chance because one time I came for eyebrows and the older lady completely butchered one eye brow and barely spoke English which is completely fine but she was not even trying to understand what I was trying to say or what I wanted for my brows. I was almost in tears because I had grown them out to reshape them before I went to get a wax. Thankfully, a guy came (who I think is the same guy who just took off my gels) and corrected the other eyebrow and was really nice about it but my eyebrows looked uneven and the damage already had been done. My experience today left me very unhappy and I will never return. If you see the pictures you can see that my nails still have gel on them and they look busted. Thanks for nothing. Not worth $20. If it was $10 that's different. I expected better quality service and they didn't have one customer in there besides me so it's not like they had to rush. I didn't even think he was done with my nails until I saw him away from the table. I asked him if this was it?? He said it was. I showed him there was still gel on my nails. He said it's not too late to fix. At this point, I was just annoyed and wanted to leave right away. It should have been fixed the first time... I could have easily done this myself and been more gentle with my nails. Lesson learned. Don't come here and waste your time. It's not even in a nice area. I guess you get what you pay for. For a $28 pedicure you get uneven polish, that does not extend to the sides of your nails; uneven filing that has ragged edges; and a bloody toe! Do not expect anything extra like to have your feet scrubbed or pumiced. I was told not to go to this place, but I figured DIP can't be that hard... ugh!! I should have waited!! But I went to get my nails done before flying out for a graduation ceremony. I was going for French until I saw heat changing DIP that went from black when cold, to dark royal blue when hot. Great! My dress is royal blue and black to match the school colors! As she was applying I kept mentioning it was light, it was purple, it didn't look like what I picked... but she just kept saying it was my heat, the color will change. I even mentioned how I think it was mislabeled because it looks nothing like what I picked TO MATCH MY DRESS. She again assured it would change and it was the color. I put my nail up to the color sample, and showed her how far off it was and still she told me it was because my nails were hot.... Well I am home. Soaked my hands in cold water, even put ice on them and they come no where close to the black/dark blue I picked. I told her I was going to have to repaint them before I go or get them done again and she said nothing and charged me $40, I didn't even get nail tips on, it was just a 20 minute service that now looks like my nails are just dirty under the tips when they get cold. I will never go back. And also, out of the 5+ years I have been on Yelp, this I my first ever bad review. Super disappointing she did not once offer to fix, to discount or so much as apologize. This is by far the worst nail salon in the whole United States . I'm saddened I tried to find a good salon since I'm new to the area . Not only did two nails fall off when I left but the lady Julie at the front was yelling at me like it was my fault the nail tech. Told me $70 and she said $80. I went back the next day to get them fixed which she didn't even fix them the way I asked her too, causing four more to pop off the next day just washing my hair . The woman doing my nails fought with me in front of the whole salon insisting I get gel on my toes after I repeatedly told her I did not want it. Then, when taking the gel polish off my nails, I kept telling her it was burning my hands and she did not believe me and would not take it off until I insisted several times.my hands were bright red, burnt from the acetone she soaked them in, so bad that she said she couldn't even do a manicure, but still charged me for it since she took off the polish. Went to this nail salon for the first time after it being highly recommended by a friend who frequents bimonthly. At first I was really impressed with the work done, however later the night I got them done I noticed inflammation of my finger. Pictured below is the progression of my infection. I emailed them two days after noticing the infections rapid progression. There have been other reviews concerning infections contracted at this establishment. Today I walked in due to the lack there of reply to my email. They showed little to no concern of my infection and refused to refund me unless I allowed them to use their un sanitized tools to remove my gel manicure. They don't care about their customers. I am sure if her two daughters who go to FAU came home with nail infections she would expect they be refunded and respected by nail technicians who caused the infection, but instead the owner states "Negligence is business" Unfortunately this is not the first instance of infections at the establishment stay FAR AWAY from UTOPIA NAILS, don't waste your time or money because you are putting your health at risk!!!!!! read more

Was in town visiting family last week from Boston. My mom, sister and I needed to get a quick pedicure before an event, and of course waited until the morning of the event to go find a place without making an appointment. It was a Saturday morning, so we were turned away from about 10 different salons because they couldn't fit in 3 pedicures. We ended up at Utopia and I could not be more thrilled! I called about 10 minutes ahead saying we were on the way, when we arrived they already had the tubs waiting for us! The place was SUPER clean, I watched the very kind woman clean all of the tools prior to working with me. They squeezed in all 3 pedicures, and even had time to give me an acrylic fill. We were all so pleased with the outcome. They were also very affordably priced compared to other salons in the area. I have to comment on it, even though it is not something that would upset me, but I do see a lot of complaints about language in reviews about other salons and that people feel uneasy to not understand what someone is saying. I had a very nice conversation with the older woman who helped me. She admitted her English was not great, but I was very impressed with how well we held a conversation. I could definitely tell that everyone in the salon made their best effort to only speak in English around clientele. I scheduled my appointment for 6pm to assure i am there on time. They called me to see if I could come earlier which I couldn't because I was working. I arrive for my appointment and the place was empty. They wanted me to come in early because they didn't have any customers. While the girl was doing my pedicure they kept walking over to us to rush her to be done because they wanted to leave. After a few minutes it started getting warm in there because they took it as far as turning off the ac. Another thing Where do they sterilize the instruments they use??? Well I went to pay and not even a thank you for coming, just got dirty looks from both women that were rushing the poor girl to get me out. I've been getting my nails done over 15 years and I've gone to a lot of different nail shops... this is by far the worst place I've ever been to :-( after only a week one of them actually fell off while doing dishes... how does acrylic fall off just like that? Had nexgen done and two days later my nails peeled. I called them and they told me to come in to fix them. While the guy was fixing my nails he decided to file my nails when he chipped my nail. I expected him to fix the whole nail not just the chip. Needless to say he was rushing to leave. 3 days later I called again as my nails started chipping. They asked me to come in again and did all of my nails, well same thing they all finished breaking like if I work in construction. I will not be back.
