We hired Christian S's A Plus Construction to place new footings on our deck, to replace the wooden…read moreboards with Trex, and to replace the railings and gate on the deck. - The new Trex boards were laid properly and look nice. - As for the support beams, is canted at an angle instead of being square. - A Plus suggested a new design for the railing but it is unsatisfactory with two posts placed next to each other with a gap between them. - The new gate is so misaligned that the latch won't engage though I guess that doesn't matter much since the latch was so poorly installed that one of the screws fell out. Soon the entire latch will soon fall off. - They placed new facing around 85% of the deck but left off the last few pieces. - They never installed the box for our hoses which they were supposed to do. I have spoken personally to Christian S a number of times over the last two months. Each time he has promised to have someone come over to finish the job but no one ever shows up. He has missed at least six appointments Christian said he would bring over steaks and we could have a BBQ when he finished the job but, LOL, I guess he doesn't owe us that since he never finished the job. I also note that the reader should ignore the reviews from San Francisco and Manhattan since those refer to other A Plus Construction companies. We aren't as bad off as the reviewer who paid $1750 and got no work, but this company deserves a one-star rating for his work on our deck.

He came out again to our house after we determined that we wanted his company to perform the work. We fine-tuned exactly what we wanted and set up a tentative date to begin work. After we got our items, we confirmed the start date. Stephen and Michael arrived promptly on the day work was scheduled to begin and demoed the bathroom. They arrived every morning at the same time and worked a full day and I'm not sure they even took breaks. They completely cleaned up at the end of each day and sectioned off the work area to minimize the dust throughout the house. The bathroom remodel was expertly performed and came out exactly as we had envisioned. I highly recommend Katamount Construction. Unprofessional Bait-and-Switch - Using Their Contract Typos to Shortchange Customers Beware of Continental Home Group if you value honesty. Back on April 30th, we negotiated a fence project and explicitly requested a price match based on a competitor's quote that included '1 lattice gate.' The sales representative, Joe, confirmed in writing via text that the owner approved adding the lattice upgrade for free to match the deal and secure our business at a final price of $5,595. We paid them 100% in full and in good faith. However, the company committed a clerical error on the final paperwork they drafted by omitting the word 'lattice' on the line item. They then installed a plain, standard gate. When we immediately pointed out the error upon completion, they tried to gaslight us. First, the sales rep tried to claim a lattice gate was 'never discussed' (completely contradicting his own text messages). We very clearly stated a competitor (Modern Fencing) offered a lower price with the lattice gate included. The very definition of price matching is giving a better price for the same exact offer, so how did we end up not getting it in the price matched offer by CHG? Then, they tried to blame us for not acting as their job-site construction supervisors to stop the crew mid-installation. I notified Joe immediately after the crew left that same day that the gate was incorrect. He blamed me for not speaking up after it was already installed, even though the labor and material costs to swap it out would be the same regardless. Finally, they demanded an extra extortion fee of $500, or told us we had to 'buy a whole new project' just to get the gate we already paid for. Highway robbery to charge that much just to replace a gate. Using your own corporate typographical error to hold a fully paid customer's gate hostage for more cash is a completely unethical, bad-faith business practice. I am currently filing a formal consumer fraud complaint with the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs and initiating a small claims lawsuit in the Middlesex County Special Civil Part to recover the cost of hiring a reputable company to fix their mistake. Check every single syllable of their paperwork, because they will aggressively exploit their own mistakes to avoid honoring their written text commitments. This is not how you treat a paying customer. I regret not staying with Modern Fencing. Not only were they cheaper, we would have gotten exactly what we asked for. Instead we got bait and switched by Continental Home Group.
