The level of information and care is incredible…read more I was a little nervous because of how blind I already was and those "what ifs" start creeping in about what if it gets worse or I end up completely blind instead of the already mostly blind. Everyone there makes you feel so at ease. Dr. Passi is awesome. You can tell he has the experience, knowledge to get what needs to happen done and forethought of everything you may ask, answered. One of my favorite things about Dr. Passi was his complete honesty, just enough fluff to make you comfortable but at the same time, made sure you understand what's going to happen, what needs to happen afterwards and realistically what to expect after treatment and that's ultimately what he's logically there for. The expertise in this area, and he more than knows his craft. Last night oof, he was right, I was wrecked but after following directions of medicated eye drops every 2 hours and wear the covers with the correct amount of ibuprofen- Tylenol ratio, I was totally fine this morning (I took melatonin too because it never hurts to want to not wake up constantly) I'm sure Hoopes is great BUT I also would say there's definitely not just a single place to go and don't rule this place out. I personally loved loved it.

My Doctor was Dr. Passi he was amazing, I told him after I had my second eye done that I got a little teary eyed on my drive into my post op appointment, I said "Did you know leaves are not just green and have many different shapes and rocks have lines that make unique patters, that yellow really is a pretty color and the sky was so blue and the clouds were so white. Colors are so vibrant it's just been amazing the difference. And a special shout out to Becca who scheduled my surgery was the sweetest funniest, caring human ever, she goes out of her way and gave 110%. I highly recommend the Eye Institue of Utah you wont be disappointed .

Terrible receptionist, "manager" she claimed she was until I spoke with the actually manager. I've…read morebeen in store 3-4 times the past year and she is always rude, doesn't even try to help or answer questions. So put out to have clients that she leaves the door closed and glares or rolls eyes if you open it. Today was the worst though. She belittled us for scheduling an appointment without knowing that they don't partner with our insurance, when I actually had! And I've used it there multiple times, same network, same plan. Tried to charge us a cancellation fee for wasting her time. Before booking, I knew they were separate from Costco and I used their own website to confirm insurance, co-pays and all. This girl refused us and was completely wrong and so rude! Later when I yelled at the manager about her behavior he was defensive until he looked it up and confirmed that our date of birth and plan matched their own system and previous records to see we were correct and he apologized for her behavior. But this is beyond ridiculous to be treated the way she does every time. I'm stupid for returning hoping it would be a different person, but not anymore. He has lost our business and that of many other people by the looks of it just because of her behavior and lack of attempt to even look into the one single insurance they partner with to see we were covered there.

When I asked if he wasn't able to presribe, the answer was 'he chooses NOT to treat any medical issues". What a waste of time and now I have to go find another Dr. , make an appt.(who knows how long I'll have to wait for that), pay for another visit, all while I have an active eye infection. The best part about this place is the provider Dr Pierce! Every appointment I've ever had at an optometrist felt like I was at a "vision mill" where they just check your prescription and try to get you out of the clinic as fast as possible to see the next patient. Dr Pierce took the time to break down the results of all of my test results in depth; perhaps since I'm an aspiring PA he could tell my nerdy passion for anatomy and went in greater depth because he noticed I appreciated it, but even still that's just the sign of an excellent provider! I never felt rushed during my appointment and he answered all of my questions about how to improve my dry eyes and even gave me regimen advice for hot compress as well as eye drop and eye health supplementation suggestions. I am so happy with my experience and to now have an optometry office I look forward to using exclusively for all my vision needs.

I just moved to the Salt Lake valley and needed a new optometrist for my old eyes. I chose Magna Family Eyecare because they have good reviews. I wasn't disappointed. They have great diagnostic equipment and can quickly test for all manner of eye related issues. There is a nice team of people handling the front desk. My doctor (Dr. White) was excellent and gave me a thorough checkup. He had some newer diagnostic techniques I haven't seen before. That helped me realize I was in the right place. They have a large selection of frames which is great! Sunglasses to. The office is situated in a modern building. I can whole-heartedly recommend Magna Family Eyecare. Cya there sometime!

Got my glasses and I couldn't read with it. The measurement was off. They re-did it and now I cannot see far way. When I put the glasses on, it makes me dizzy, my vision is out focus. I explained that the frame I got does not work for me and they would have to make it right in finding a solution. Their response: crickets....

I had to call 4 times across 2 days before I got ahold of someone here and never got a call back. On the 5th call, once I did finally get ahold of someone, 15 minutes into the call I still didn't have an appointment and had to go to a meeting and asked them to call me back in an hour which they agreed to do. 4 hours later after not receiving a call I had to call back in twice more over the next day to finally get ahold of someone and start all over once again. All I needed was a standard annual appointment and a corneal topography. They stated that this was no problem and part of their routine annual exam anyway. The next day I got another call from them in which they said (direct quote) "I'm just wondering why you want the corneal topography..." firstly, that's none of your concern, secondly, you already stated it was standard practice so why does it matter? 2 days before my appointment I get another call which I miss and they left a voicemail saying they moved my appointment a day earlier (without my permission) but I decide I'm already this deep so let's just finish it out. I show up to my appointment and the receptionist says that my appointment is tomorrow (the original time). At that point I cancelled my appointment because this is just insanity. You would think it would end there but 2 hours later I get a reminder for my appointment which I had canceled in person earlier that day. I have no idea how this place is still open, maybe the doctors are phenomenal. I truly can't speak to them and their expertise as I couldn't even get that far. You need a complete overhaul of your entire operating procedures. Good luck!

I was thoroughly impressed with both Dr Rice's knowledge, professionalism, state of the art equiptment, and overall appearance of the office. He educated me on all sorts of eye conditions, why my vision could be the way it is, the risks of not caring for my contacts and eyes the way I should be, etc and most importantly he was realistic. I was very impressed with the equipment and technology he uses in order to run the eye exam. He seems very up to date on all things eye care related. Well, we stopped and were so happy we did! Their selection of frames is almost as good as their caring and family oriented service! We found very quickly that we were and ARE much much more than simply a patient, and that Kristine treats us much more like family. And, similar to any family, everyone is different, has "good days" and "bad days" and Kristine has been SUPER accommodating and understanding. With everything going on in our society and the COVID protocols, she took the time to text my wife many times. Where we still had concerns, she personally called and spoke with my wife and to come to a mutually agreeable solution. WOW! This is unfortunately so I heard of in today's world and Hidden Valley deserves a chance to show you how different they are! Dr. Howell immediately identified the issue and got to work correcting it, having had years of experience with children and this condition. My little boy thinks Dr. Howell is his best friend which is very telling because my son likes very few people, ha ha. Dr. Howell is patient, kind, and makes the exams fun with "games" and prizes at the end to the point that my little guy requests I make more appointments. Additionally it is obvious that Dr. Howell truly cares for his patients more than his payout. I trust 1000% that my expenses are fair and necessary- something I've questioned at other places. The staff is kind and skilled, I don't have to wait weeks and weeks for appointments-I just can't say enough good things about this office!

Turns out Dr Howell has training with migraine day head injuries and possible eye traits that can make that occur. He checked things no eye doctor ever had and told me because of my specific eyes I had been over prescribed and it lead to headaches. When I left there I finally had faith restored in at least one eye doctor! If eyes could breath a sigh of relief that's how my eyes felt. Also, NO headaches with my new prescription!!!! On top of all that, he was kind, intelligent, and very patient with my many questions, I had a lot of them. I would recommend him to anyone!

They even did a uv light test on my eyes with some dye, to see my tear production and gave me some eye drops. Turns out my eyes are really dry.
