The battle, albeit small, resulted in the deaths of 8 militiamen and 1 British regular. Eventually leading up to the much larger Battle of Concord and then war between the colonies and the British Empire. It was also humbling to find the burial place of those who fought in the militia on the green. After paying my respect, I was excited to continue on with my family of the Lexington and Concord area.

With the 250th anniversary of the American Revolutionary War, we wanted to pay tribute to the…read moreglorious patriots who made sacrifices for this country! It is about 20 to 30 miles northwest of Boston, the drive is scenic especially when you start driving through all of the little towns leading to Lexington and Concord. The main attraction for our visit was to visit the north bridge memorial site where the first shots of the war began at 5am on Apr 19,1775 dubbed the "shot heard around the world" There is also a marker for the two British soldiers killed here. The site is spread out and will require some hiking if you would like to see the entire trail. I believe it was 5 to 7 miles on foot to see everything. The visit was amazing and awe inspiring! I highly recommend any history buff to visit.

What I truly appreciate about the studio is that they are BYOB so it offers more flexibility if you are going with people to coordinate bringing snacks and drinks. They ave all the supplies such as glassware (wine glasses, corkscrew), plates and napkins. My first event here was for a "Paint Your Pet". That is considered one of the special events since there are specific instructions to submit by at least ~2 weeks in advance the reference photo so they can screen print it onto the canvas so it is more of a "paint by numbers" than following the instructor since it would be challenging to paint each unique pet. They offered great guidance of how to start. Understandably depending on the fur or pet detail it may take longer. I loved how mine turned out and proudly display it at home. They also offer a reward/loyalty system and somehow I have completed enough paintings at this point to level up to "Collector" so I'm excited to redeem a free painting session. After each event they send out a review survey so if you fill it out you receive a 10% off discount code for the next booking. I also got a birthday gift code of 20% off that I used for the most recent "Autumn Porch Leaner" class. Since I've also completed so many standard canvas paintings at this point I've also branched out now into the unique long/tall paintings for a different experience. Went with my family to the Lexington reenactment this year, what a let down! I grew up in Lexington…read moreand it has been about 7 years since my last visit to the event. This year, after piling in the car at 4 in the morning, we were shocked to find almost nobody ringing the bell, there were irritating townies carrying 10' stepladders blocking everyone's view on the green and worst of all MUFFLED musket fire?! It was the worst excuse for entertainment I've ever seen. It's like someone complained that the gunfight was too loud and they'd used silencers on all the guns! There were no screaming wounded, no women and children running out to comfort the fallen, no bangs when the guns fired, NOTHING! It was a horrible re-enactment. I really hope that someone else noticed the ridiculousness of this historic, annual event and does something to bring back the drama. Why would anyone get up before dawn to watch a quiet gunfight?!

Luckily, I visited on a weekday because I can only imagine how packed this place gets on the weekends. They had such an amazing selection of beautiful pumpkins, and I wished I could have brought some home with me. They also have a wonderful little market with fresh, healthy, locally sourced products, which was an added bonus. Such a great experience and exactly the kind of pumpkin patch I wish we had back home.

This farm is amazing. The BEST apple cider donuts I've ever had. We went on a Saturday and they had…read morejust opened the potato blasters. We've never done it before and it was a BLAST! $1 each try so we each did $5. They had a cute area with a little town made of wood and skeletons doing funny things that you could take pics with like a saloon, jail, checkers, and mortuary. We also took a picture of the iconic pumpkin wall that is all over IG. Then we got in line for the donuts. So hot, fresh and cinnamony and cakey! The line moves fast. We also wondered into the grocery area. Really picture perfect fruits and vegetables like if Whole Foods had a farm, this is what it would look like. It's beautiful. This is literally the best farm I've ever been to. I would definitely come back to this one if I'm ever in the area in October again.
