The Minute Man National Historical Park commemorates the opening battles of the American Revolution on April 19, 1775. According to their website, the goal of the park is to protect, preserve and interpret the significant sites, structures, landscapes, events and ideas embodied by these events. This is a sprawling park, wide and narrow, spanning Concord, Lincoln and Lexington, south of the Hansom Air Force Base, and close to both Walden Pond and the deCordova Sculpture Park. The park commemorates the colonists' ideals of liberty and self-determination, and the "shot heard round the world" which is often referred to as the Battles of Lexington, and Concord. The fighting on April 19, 1775 ranged over 16 miles along the Bay Road from Boston to Concord, and included some 1,700 British regulars and over 4,000 Colonial militia. * British Casualties totaled 273; including 73 Killed, 174 wounded, 26 missing. * Colonial casualties totaled 96; including 49 killed, 41 wounded, and 5 missing. This is a great destination to learn more about the American Revolution in a more interesting and tangible manner than your typical history book. We chatted with a friendly and helpful park ranger, had a picnic, walked for a few miles, toured one of their historic buildings and meandered back to the busy parking area. There is plenty to do in this beautiful and historic park, it is well worth a visit!

Minute Man National Park has several spots to pull over and beautiful scenery throughout. If you stop at the Visitor Center first you can get your passport stamped and a map of the park. They also have informative displays and friendly rangers working here, as well as clean bathrooms. We didn't have time to explore the entire park, but we drove down to the parking lot near North Bridge and enjoyed the walk to it. Bring a camera, sunscreen, and sneakers so you can walk comfortably and take good photos throughout the park.

Minute Man Visitor Center and the surrounding hiking trails are a hidden gem of the oldest historical moments in American history, especially the beginnings of the Revolutionary War. Here, you'll find some of the oldest houses in the United States, including Captain William Smith's house in Lincoln, the Meriam House (which was lived in until 1951), Jacob Whittemore House which is in fantastic livable condition and sometimes open to the public, and others. It's one of the few places you can actually walk up to a house that is over 300 years old. The walking path was excellent and made for a fun few miles of hiking. People also come from all over the world to participate in the reenactment of the Revolutionary War beginnings. It's a wonderful time to visit and talk to those people, since they make all their gear with historical accuracy and love to share.

Nothing like some last minute history before leaving to fly home. There was a Nor'easter that blew through and the park system was late opening because park rangers were out clearing debris and making sure the environment was safe. But we walked around as much as we could before the opened the actual visitor center. John is a huge history nerd- especially military history. And a walk through the woods for me was fine. The leaves are turning, they have sheep in several areas of the property and coordinate with plenty of other local farmers for a more period look. There are fresh fruits and vegetables grown, bee hives and other livestock at various stops along the route. I was very happy to stop in before going to the airport!

Very good place for educating your for American Revolution. This park is huge. There are two visitors center on east and west side each. The east side visitors center has a very far away parking lot so you will need to walk some distance after you park your car. The west side visitors center is convenient with easy parking lot access.

The Minute Man Visitor Center is filled with important historic relics and provides vivid imagery of the famous Battle of Lexington. It is also a fantastic location to take a relaxing stroll with it being surrounded by luscious trees and nature. I loved experiencing the nature around me while I was there. The sounds of the birds, the motion of the leaves as the wind blows. I highly recommend visiting this site!

It was a pleasant visit to the Minute Man Visitor Center. I had no idea that there were national parks close to Boston that protected Lexington's history. There was a stroll through the woods and spotless restrooms. My buddies and I had a great time, and it seemed to be fairly well-kept. There was a gift shop and more information about American Revolutionary history inside the tourist center. Quite fascinating material. Even though the house was hundreds of years old, it appeared to be well-maintained.

Great place to walk or run. It's quite a big park and the visitor center also has restrooms on the right side of the building

The minute man visitor center was a good visit. I didn't realize that we had national parks near the Boston area that preserved the history in Lexington. There were clean bathrooms and a walk through the woods. It seem pretty well kept and my friends had a lot of fun. Inside the visitor center there was a gift shop and more history about the American revolution. Pretty interesting stuff. The house looked well kept even though it was hundreds of years old. I felt like I was being brought in the past!!!!!

My visit at the center was very welcoming, the ambiance was offers rich history and is equipped with a variety of exhibits. The multimedia presentations are engaging and educational, making history come alive for both adults and children. The surrounding park is absolutely stunning, with well-marked trails that allow visitors to explore the same paths trodden by the Minutemen centuries ago. If you're looking for a place to relax, this is for you!

Painting of Battle Road

Loved my visit at Minute Man! The center contained a lot of historical information including displays of cannons and a huge painting of Battle Road. The visitor center also had a gift shop which contained plenty of unique memorabilia. In the gift shop, you can get your passport stamped with the date of your visit and a helpful map of the park. The park itself had its own uniqueness and was clean. We were able to walk through the scenic woods to what was originally known as Battle Road. Most importantly, the bathrooms were well-kept and clean. Overall, Minute Man offered a delightful blend of history and nature, making it a memorable experience. 10/10 would recommend if you're interested in US history or want to enjoy a scenic walk.

This one of my favorite National Parks. The movie which shows every 30 minutes is fantastic. You can ride a bike along the trail which would be the best way of seeing it. It's dog friendly which is nice. The North Bridge in Concord is a must see as that is where the British began the long retreat back to Boston. The whole Lexington/Concord area is beautiful. Check it out. Listed in Drive Across America: https://www.yelp.com/collection/4_4-FCUBHEQBq43u7DXRig

I love visitor centers! There's so much to history and lots of panels to read, but in here, they have a video presentation to summarize everything! The presentation is very interactive because you can watch the screen and as it narrates, lights come on along the wall. For example, the tower to signal the rebels which way the reds are coming has a little blip that comes on. Also, there's a trail of lights on a map to show the path and where the rebels/reds collided. The visitor center also has a gift shop with rangers/volunteers to assist. There is also no fee to enter either, but you can make donations!
