Tried to drop off packages this evening, however I chose to turn around and drive 15 mins back home because a homeless man was standing in front of the doors staring at me once I parked. He kept unbuttoning and re buttoning his pants. I planned on going in if he walked off or if someone had told him to leave but after waiting 10 minutes I left. Firstly, this post office won't carry my package up to the fifth floor like any other carrier or Amazon. They make me come to the post office to pick it up. I asked Calvin a question, he answered "smartly" and then rolled his eyes. He made me write something down to try and find a package I had held here to pick up. He handed the paper off to another employee. I asked if I should go to stand by her while I wait. "If I wanted you over there, I would have told you to go over there." Rolled his eyes. If you're going to be the only person actually working (taking people from the line; the lady was working on something else originally.)out of all the "windows", don't be a dick. Homeless people sleeping on the floor inside this post office. Did not have priority mail envelopes. I can't believe the USPS is about to go on strike Aug 1 and this is the level of service they deliver. Shame on you USPS! read more

Nobody answers the phone it's ridiculous !! Had to drive 40 mi utes to ask a question !!

They don't answer the phone #1 and when the my do they hang up on you before you get a chance to ask for assistance.

This post office is amazing! The longest hours open of any post office I've experienced. The staff is friendly and hard working. I'm sorry to see negative reviews here. Our postal service is recovering from being gutted by the last administration due to voting by mail. Not to mention all they had to deal with during the pandemic! We should appreciate or post office. I have lived in St. Petersburg for many years and will go out of my way to use this location. I have always had great, friendly, informative service. And they are open until 7pm and on Saturdays. And mail seems to move faster when I use this location. read more

It's a huge place. There's P.O. boxes big enough to store Reticulated Boa Constrictors in..you know, the ones that aren't native to Florida? The A.C. is blowing cool, cool air and everyone seems to move and little slower as to savor the chill. What impressed me was they have a card display in the corner..Hallmark cards..for all the occasions. I have never seen this kind of display before and it makes perfect sense. Once I heard that USPS was going to get rid of this location. I lived right around the corner, and this was very disappointing to me. I came here often. Sometimes to get stamps, sometimes just to have them weigh my parcel so I did not accidentally put to much postage on it. All things considered, I was happy this place was so close, but always a bit annoyed when I had to come here. In the age of Fedex and UPS, lots of people criticize USPS. Here is something that I love about them: the one-rate boxes. They have boxes that you can cram as much stuff as possible into and it is always the same rate. Here is the problem with USPS. Fedex and UPS are much more conveniently located and spread throughout cities. I was lucky to have USPS so close, but not that lucky. Because this is the main branch, it would ALWAYS be packed. Most recently I was here bright and early at 8am. There was only one employee working and I had about 4 people in front of me. I am thankful the employee was cheerful and SO FAST. She really did a good job. I only waited about 10 minutes. By the time I left, the line behind me was twice as long. It will probably get worse as the day goes on, but more employees will join her at the counter. I recall that since I was a little kid, I have never been to a Post Office that did not have a huge line. That is why I used to despise going there when I was little. I still feel that same angst as I walk through to automatic doors. Michael S. is right to point out that they sure do have a TON of P.O. Boxes. And I never recall being uncomfortably warm while waiting in the huge lines, so he must also be right about the air conditioning. Overall, I like the employees at this Post Office. They are friendly and really kick butt doing their job while keeping customers happy. I also truly hope they decided (or decide) not to close down this branch. While I do not live as close as I used to, I can only imagine that the crowds at other Post Offices will only get 100 times worse if this branch is closed. Sometime less is more, but I guarantee that saying will not hold true for the number of Post Offices that the government has in any given region. Worst experience ever with getting a resolution with my delivery issue. 5 stars to the clerks but the supervisors are worthless!! Went into this post office several times trying to resolve my issue. Requested to speak with a supervisor and every time I was told it they would look into it and call me. I never did receive any call back. When I tried to call the number I was given, they never answer and no option to leave a voicemail. I've worked in customer service for years and this is unacceptable! read more

I haven't had a problem with my mail service for as long as I can remember my permanent mailman is Patrick who is awesome. Unfortunately in the last few weeks Mr Patrick has not been able to work due to illness and since then we have had so many different temps it's sad we've had every type happy glad sad mad.And even 1 that​ quit after 1 day not only but she upset that people are asking if she they could get their mail out of their boxes due to the fact that she only took four and a half hours literally to put mail in 30 little boxes she decided to go back to them and pull mail out of each box and all of them usually checks on the other people she was violent and vicious and rude she even put her hands on the mailbox units and slam the doors to break them I get paid by checking mail and since this is happen ing going on 2 weeks I've had four of my paychecks cashed and this wonderful facility here don't even answer the phone I want my mailman back read more

I mailed a package on Aug 28th. I obtained a tracking number. They have lost it. It was a text book I was returning, so I sent it media mail, not knowing I had no insurance. I am out $194.00, plus the shipping costs. It has been over 4 months. This is the second time they have lost a package of mine. I am switching to UPS for my future mailings, including any items I wish to receive. I won't even send birthday or Christmas cards out. I am doing all my bill pay electronically. This government run business is incompetent, and I will not fund them any further. read more

This is the post office for my area; where I go to pick up failed deliveries. I really don't know a good post office versus a bad one, except to say that this one is generally clean, parking lot and inside. If you want to mail something, the line does get long at times, but mostly during peak hours. The postal workers do work fast and overall are nice. Packaging items are always stocked, at least the ones I need. A small selection of greeting cards are available to purchase. It's unfortunate that half of the windows are permanently closed due to financial problems. read more

I love this post office! It isn't anything special or neat to look at like the Open Air Post Office Downtown; but it has lots of benefits since it is the main branch. My favorite benefit is their hours. They are actually open earlier and later than most post offices in the area. They are also open on Saturday unlike the Open Air Post Office. This allows me to mail packages easily without losing too much sleep with my overnight schedule. They also seemed to be faster and more efficient than the other post offices in St. Pete. I have never waited in line for more than 5 minutes here. They have a nice sized lobby where you can prepare your packages. They even have a UPS machine to mail priority packages after hours. read more

Always a quick in and out for me using the automated postage machine. They only seem to have 2 or 3 postal workers ever working the crowds.

This is one of the best post offices I've had the pleasure of using. Always pleasant customer service, cold air conditioning and they pull extra help when the line starts to get long. read more

I have called all morning long and the phone just rings and rings. Shouldn't they have voicemail or someone answering the phone. I need to know why my package was not delivered they don't have a problem delivering regular mail but with my package it says my address does not exist. read more
