Today is a perfect example of what you can expect,went in to mail something on my lunch period (most people go at lunch if they need to mail something), there were nine people waiting in line and only one person helping people.......again. I've had soooo many problems with all the post offices in Traverse City, including Union Street Post Office! Not too long ago, I sent some checks in the mail to pay off my bills on different days. Several of my checks never made it to the same billing location. I know for a fact that some people had gossipped about me and my family to the post office people, so I had gotten harassments from the post office employees and managements. They made sure I could not prove anything. If I could sue the post office, I would have done so long ago, believe me. I have to send another check to the billing location, hoping they'll get it this time. Oh, there were times people have sent me stuff by mail. These people actually went to the post office physically and had the packages weighed. They paid the post office postage to mail the packages to me. There were times when a smoker voice woman demanded that I pay her additional money, saying sender did not pay enough money for postage. I told the mail woman that the packages had postage stamped on it and not actual stamps. All the packages were weighed and paid for by the sender. Besides, even if there were not enough money put on the postage, why would post office expect me to pay for the additional money and not the sender? This woman did this to me multiple times. Different people sent me different packages, and finally I got so sick of paying her, I refused to pay again. She gave me an attitude and took the package back and not give it to me. I called the post office to complain and the man I spoke to, supposedly her boss, never called me back after I spoke to him. I never found out who sent the package or what the package was. All the post offices needs to be shut down and everyone be sent to prison! For many years, the mail envelopes that came into my mailboxes did not even have post office received date stamped on them. Had to file a claim because the staff here never delivered a package. After the package failed to be delivered and tracking showed that it was still in transit they tried to lie and say that it never left Playa del Rey. Playa del Rey!!! How could it be at an address that had no association with the package at all?? You need to learn how to lie better, Mike, if you want to keep your good govt job. I called to speak with the manager who informed he would call me back. Never did!!! Later, he couldn't even explain why he was telling me it was in Playa del Rey. Asked me to call again the next day. Didn't you just call me to inform me about my package and now you have to do additional research. What kind of moron is Mike? He then proceeded to hang up on me after I asked to speak to his manager. The Staff here is rude and it also sounds like they're a bunch of thieves. I guess I won't be shipping anything else to the Traverse City, Michigan area ever again!!! read more

The union street post office is the worst. They are incredibly rude and unhelpful. They constantly deliver the wrong mail to me, they cram packages in my mailbox instead of being nice and trying to deliver them. If I receive multiple packages in one day, they accuse me of not picking up my mail and write me nasty notes. read more

Our postal carrier continues to cram multiple packages into our mailbox that are too large and damages them. Today there was actually a box from Amazon laying in the raid by our box!! Post office in general just sucks, my package showed it was supposed to be delivered between the 1045 and 1245... 1245 rolled around and still no package, checked again and now it says it won't arrive until 245 and that's if it shows up then. This isn't the first time I've had this issue... if you can't meet the expected delivery time then don't list it... just say by end of the day like fedex and ups do! read more

This post office &*%^$. My new mail carrier had ruined my mail one too many times by not shutting my door properly. I sent a letter to the postmaster with no response over a month ago. I just tried calling the Union Street Post Office in Traverse City, Michigan and can't get through. It just rings and hangs up. We paid $49.99 to have a package delivered. They didn't put the label on it for delivery so the package was returned to us for non -postage. I have the receipt, our local mailman couldn't help us with it. Now we are going to have to drive 90 miles round trip to deal with their error! read more

Same as other reviewers I was so offended by the rudeness of the staff at both traverse locations I actually downloaded Yelp. Thought the union st location was bad until I tried the Barlow st location and was greeted by the rudest staff I ever encountered. It's like they hate their job and haven't been trained, but know they also can't get fired and there's no one for you to complain to. read more

Put mail on hold for over 10 dates two times this year and they failed to hold mail. When complained about issue was brushed off by the postmaster. Rude and insensitive. Obviously can't follow simple instructions on a yellow form to hold mail. read more

The few times I came in here always left me disappointed. The employees were blatantly rude and ridiculed me when I asked for help. I have been a customer the Union Street USPS many times and have always experienced terrible customer service. This last visit, I was overnighting a business package and waited in line for 15 minutes to be treated rudely by one of the customer service reps and he had me go fill out an overnight slip and go back to the end of the line and wait another 10 minutes. He continued to be rude and I let him know that. The "Postmaster" was just as rude. I would highly recommend using the Barlow Branch where they are always friendly read more

Another government agency that is worthless. Mail carrier stated they he tried to deliver the package three times but was unable to access my front door, which is complete BS. I went down to the post office and the postmaster was a complete jerk said he would look into the issue and call me back. Three days later the package was sent back to the sender and no return phone call. I have stuff shipped to me all of the time without issues unless it's coming from USPS. I'm not sure if my mailman is lazy or what but this is the fourth time this has happened in the past two months. Such a waste of taxpayer's money!!!! I have had multiple issues for the last year with mail delivery. All my junk mail makes it to my mailbox, but not my DVDs from Netflix or cards from family/friends or credit cards. I have Informed Delivery. Somewhere between imaging and delivery my mail gets "lost". I have asked repeatedly for an explanation of the imaging process and what happens to the mail after it's image. I never get a response. The Postmaster keeps apologizing and monitors mail for roughly two weeks after each of my complaints. After mail monitoring is over mail comes up missing. Gee....sounds like a postal delivery issue. The Postmaster says "no, it's not fraud on the part of the postal worker". I am not convinced. read more

Terrible experience. The service was horribly slow, it took 25 minutes to mail a package that should have taken 5 minutes.
