I have spent a few hours here in the past, as flying to London from Yuma brings with it a long layover. Im here today and just enjoyed a non-interrupted knapp on a very comfortable couch. This USO was a little hard to find for me. It's located on level 2 by the C and D terminal check in, closer to the international side. The opposite side is where A and B terminals are located. The hours have changed from what is posted as of Nov 1, 2023. The volunteers here are wonderful. They gave me a tour since I couldn't remember being here in the past. There is a kids room, an area with reclining chairs, an area to eat a wide selection of snacks, and more. Someone donated chocolate chip cookies that I enjoyed while catching up with some work. This is the first time I've visited this one since they moved locations years ago. Now it's neatly tucked away in a cubby hole next to the escalators. After the initial check in, it turns into your usual USO, replete with the amenities you've come to love, from the superior customer service to the well-stocked concession section and lounge areas. I fell asleep in a comfortable chair while my phone charged (in what's probably the norm) in the 3-prong/USB outlets. The bathrooms are located in the airport terminal around the corner. The open air design fits well with the Social Distancing as well. Do yourself a favor (if you're qualified) and seek them out for a nice reprieve from the daily airport hustle...you'll be glad you did. read more

We were here just yesterday ! My husband and I had a lay over from San Fran in Arizona. It was a nice uso. Had a game room , a quiet room, food with good service and a tv area. It was nice to take my shoes off and just relax. I sat on the game room to talk to my kids. Had a cup of noodles and some nuts. Charged my phone and laptop. Got to use a nice clean bathroom instead of the gross airport terminal ones. We love the uso and this one in particular was super sweet ! read more

The best USO lounge I've visited! Very clean and spacious! Awesome staff!!! The two ladies (didn't catch their names) there were so sweet and helpful! I quickly stopped by before boarding my flight and stocked up on SO MANY snacks! They have such a variety of snacks and drinks at this lounge! Great options, too! Saturday 7/27/2019: Great USO! Amazing amenities. We were in Arizona for our babymoon and made stops at L'auberge de Sedona, Antelope Canyon, and Grand Canyon. Our flight flew in and out of Phoenix. We allotted some time to be foodie adventurists in Phoenix on the final day before our flight. But OMG... the weather that day was 112F. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE!? The rest of our trip wasn't like that because the canyons are cooler. In Phoenix, we were able to do "famous" BBQ and a stop at a "trendy" coffee shop, and then I said "Okay, done! No more. Bye Phoenix!" We spent 5 full hours at the USO because of the heat. This place is before the security line and you'll have to use the public bathroom before going in. They don't have their own. Five hours is a lot, but honestly this place was soooo great I didn't mind. They have everything!!! Lockers for your luggage, greeting cards, food, drinks, a cafe, a relaxation room with recliners (where I spent 95% of my time!), huge gaming room, library, internet cafe, and a baby room. EVERYTHING!!! This place was really busy, but it was so comfy I was still able to take a nap in the relaxation room. The relaxation room is darker than the rest of the USO. There's still a little light that filters in for safety though. It has a huge TV with DirecTV channels which I used to watch Captain America movies (how fitting!) and Friends. The recliners have sockets so you can charge your phone. There were a lot of food choices!!! Fresh baked dessert items (cookies, muffins, brownies!), microwavable dinners, turkey sandwiches and other kinds of sandwiches, yogurt.... MOVIE THEATER STYLE CANDY AND CHOCOLATE... AGAIN... EVERYTHING! This place is really great. Definitely a great amenity for our military at a super busy international airport. Thanks hubby bubby! read more

Service quality for most was great. However, when traveling with my daughter and stopping there before our connecting flight and we had been traveling all day I was belittled by one volunteer for not packing enough gluten free snacks for my daughter who suffers from celiacs disease. When asked I was told by Elizabeth that I should've "planned better" then she laughed at me. I have never been so uncomfortable at a USO which is supposed to be a safe place for military and veterans like me. I can only pack so much in our carry ons and we had already been traveling all day, a simple "I don't think we have anything gluten free" would've been way better than how I was treated. -NAVY VETERAN read more

This USO is better than most I've been to. The service is great and the volunteer staff do a wonderful job and make everyone feel welcome. One of the downsides to take into account which isn't terrible is that's it's outside of security. You have to allot for enough time to go through security. This USO has some of if not the very best selection of snack that I've ever seen in ANY USO let alone an Airport Lounge. That is specifically snacks. They have king sized candy suck as Paydays, Snickers, Resses Peanut Butter Cups, small can of Pringle's, Trail Mix etc. They have a small area you can sleep, play video games, watch TV, play board games, is computers, charge your electronics and simply relax. It's good to see that not everyone was taking advantage of the situation. I had a long layover and got a decent amount of snacks to include Chocolate Coconut M&Ms. read more

This USO is by far one of the best I have ever been to. Easily ranks well above the others in many areas. The staff were all phenomenal, and Brian was truly helpful in getting us signed up and logged in. Additionally, he gave us a tour of the area and helped us to the delicious refreshments. There was plenty of seating, lounge areas, reading books, and private computer areas. Additionally, the entire place was glistening in cleanliness! Not friendly or helpful at all. Called an hour ahead to notify staff that I did not have my ID but had other paperwork showing I am an active member of the reserves. Was told that what I had would be fine. Not the case after the 30 minute walk through the airport. Had my dependent ID, VA card, and even had my commander call but "because I was not traveling with my spouse" I was denied. Just the entire interaction was very off putting with the rude older gentleman at the counter who only kept saying "I said what I said" and not willing to hear or listen to anything I was telling him. Just not a way to treat fellow servicemen AT ALL! read more

It's a damn shame that the USO at Phoenix international airport wouldn't even offer any assistance to a stranded 78 year old retired marine sgt veteran in need. "Oh no the man said we dont have resources for those "kind" of vets. Technicalities with veterans lives is a dark disgraceful way of making excuses. I did all I can do for the veteran known as Freddie carrying his dress blues and is a combat vet, drove him 3 hours across the desert after being stranded at a rest stop, gave him money, bought him food medicine and a one way ticket to Columbus Ohio so he can bury his mama. Fancy, fancy, fancy!!! This place is REALLY nice! Look at my videos and photos for an idea of how the facility looks! Their furniture and entertainment systems are brand new and have computers with printers for us to use. Make sure to have your ID ready for a speedy check in! They're great and always have TONS of toiletries for members to have. Last time I came here, I left with a travel pillow, blanket, and a hygiene kit--that doesn't even touch the dozens of snacks I was offered! The volunteers here are really nice, several of which were veterans and even spouses of veterans. People I've met here and the stories I've been blessed to share here are all memories I am so grateful to have. All in all, this has got to be one of the nicest USO facilities I've had the fortune of experiencing. I reduced the rating to 4 star just because of the hours. Part of the best things about USO facilities is having a place to rest at for late night flights, but their hours are Sunday to Saturday 8am to 8pm. They try their best to open 24 hours on holidays, but it gets difficult without the manpower unfortunately. Again, I genuinely appreciate all that USO does and this is the fanciest USO I've been to, but the hours of operation is the downer (when compared to other USOs). Followed the directions to the airport lounges all the way to gates C and D, and after looking around for a while, couldn't find the USO. Ended up asking a worker at the airport where it was located and they told me it was outside of security on the 1st level, not a convenience at all for military members on layovers or who are already inside the area where the gates are. Didn't even go after I knew the location. Location needs to be in the area where gates are located or where other airline lounges are. read more

In case you didn't notice it is ran by volunteers and everything is free for military members and dependants. Stop being so picky. Anyways, the staff is friendly and very nice. In A Nutshell: -The USO in Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport is pretty nice. -It's a good option to have since The Club at Phoenix (which is part of the Priority Pass lounge network) closes at 3:30pm every day. -You'll need to show your ID card to get in. -If you are new you'll get a quick tour by one of the volunteers. -You can have at it w/ any snacks, junk food, drinks, toiletries, etc... -There's areas to play video games, a kids playroom and other small areas to relax. This USO is Just as shameful as the VA when it comes to helping veterans looking for a break. They(USO) got the entire family (including CHILDREN) turned away cuase the black guy at door demanded active ID even as I had proof of military service. Our flight got delayed, we were so burned out, tired and were just looking for a place to have a nice break but, my family got the middle fingerfrom the black guy at the entrance instead. I've been to about a dozen USOs and this one in Phoenix loves to say NO to veterans. I felt discriminated and my family was discriminated cause I'm a veteran while HISPANIC ‍ To be honest, did not see a Hispanic veteran inside. If you are Hispanic military veteran and or Asian military veteran, walk away cause you will be turned away Also, I will never donate anything to the USO and asking for others to do the same cause the property owner will reply by giving his politically correct statement of he doesn't care as long as he keeps on getting cash donations read more

This is one of the best USO's I've been to. They welcome you in and get checked in quickly. Their app wasn't able to check me in so I had to use the iPad. They give you a tour and they offer many choices of food and drinks, to include coffee, soda and filtered water. They have two refrigerators full of food with sandwiches, yogurt, string cheese and much more. They have many area with table and chairs, a lounge reclining chair area with a big tv, a gaming area and more lounge chairs in the "living room" and a place for kids. Then they have 5 computers stations with a printer. The only thing they don't have is a bathroom, so be sure to go before heading to USO. There is one near them. Make sure you go there first before going thru security. It's way down the hall on the end by terminals 3 & 5 past Southwest and Westjet. Overall, very nice. Thank you! read more

This is a very nice USO and I am thankful that they made a space for me; even though I'm just a dependent. A long layover can be physically hard on the body but the chairs and recliners were soooo comfortable and clean. The volunteers were top notch and answered any questions with ernst. There were outlets conveniently located throughout the seating areas to keep your electronics going. They had a separate kiddie area to keep little one entertained and busy as well. They had this one cookie with everything in it that you must try, if you're fortunate enough to get a chance to visit. So thankful for their service to those that have served. read more

I normally hav never have anything bad to say about the USO's that service us Veteran's and military personnel. However, I must comment on the treatment that myself and 14 year old son received at the Sky Harbor USO on our travel. I don't want to call it a race issue but we were talked to rather rudely in regards to "you've had enough already"; this was in reference to my son asking for a roll of candy and beef jerky. As I only had a a coffee and a sandwich. Due to the lack of time of needing to catch our flight, I was unable to address the matter on the spot. If this is the manner of discourteous that one; as a 24 year veteran have to entail; possibly entering the USO has become a bad idea to encounter during already hectic travel. read more

So So SOOO disappointed - So it seems the USO "Does Not Support" veterans especially at the PHX USO. I've always been an advocate for the USO and always donated when active duty, during the annual Combined Federal Campaign. I drove up from Tucson to take a British airlines flight. I arrived early and the counter wasn't open yet. I looked to my left and about 10 yards (if that) from the British airlines counter is the USO. I was excited to tell my wife about the support they provide and that it's the perfect place to relax for about an hour. However, when I got to the USO counter the door attendant stated that "veterans" are not allowed unless they have a boarding pass. So looking around the area there's about 4 people inside - that I can see. I explained that I'm not able to get a boarding pass because the counter is not open - he can clearly see the airlines counter from the USO. He told me he doesn't make the rules he just enforces them. Whaaat!! Are we in kindergarten now. I explained that's not a smart rule if I had a boarding pass, I wouldn't stop at the USO I would go thru the long TSA line to my gate. My wife pulled on my shirt so we left. I still can't believe it, 23 years of service... I've read other post on veterans being turned away. Such a shame!!! read more
