The case was 6 month overdue and direct USCIS inquiries resulted in canned replies. Ms. Suslova task was to send an inquiry email to her "special contact" at USCIS who would be required to reply with the status update. Ms. Suslova assured us that we would get a response within days. It is a complete mystery whether that "special" lawyer ever received the email or simply never bother to reply. I've never heard a word about the case status from Ms. Suslova's office. Since our initial meeting Ms. Suslova is avoiding speaking with me directly and only communicate thru her assistant Nika. After about 3 weeks of empty promises from Ms. Suslova my wife and I have contacted out local Congresswoman Ms. Yvette D. Clarke. Ms. Yvette's office was able to get us a case update within days! Afterword the status of our case was regularly updated on the public UCSIS website for all to see but Ms. Suslova never even bothered to check the website. She would keep telling us that a reply was coming any day now. After 2 months of frustrating experience I gave up dealing with Ms. Suslova's office which has proven to be completely useless. Instead of admitting her inability to render the service I paid for she has engaged in a deriving conduct that is below of a law practitioner in this country.

Words can't fully express how grateful I am to Ms. Shautsova, but I'll try. She helped me with my…read morecomplex defensive asylum case and supported me through one of the most difficult periods of my life. I had originally hired a well-known Manhattan-based attorney who took my retainer and then completely stopped responding to my messages and calls, leaving me in the dark just four months before my court date. I was completely lost and had no idea what to do next. While searching online, I came across Ms. Shautsova's profile on Avvo. Her experience and client reviews stood out, so I scheduled a consultation. Right away, she came across as someone knowledgeable and trustworthy. That one consultation gave me more insight and direction than I had gotten from my previous attorney over several years. Throughout the case preparation, she stayed in touch, guided me, and gave me the push I needed, especially when I was struggling due to my earlier negative experience. I wasn't the easiest client, but she was patient and professional every step of the way (please, be good clients!). My hearing was held online and scheduled alongside two other cases. One person's attorney didn't show up, and another had filed documents incorrectly, so both of their hearings were postponed for years. Ms. Shautsova's preparation, on the other hand, was absolutely perfect. And can you imagine, the judge, a well-respected and experienced immigration judge in New York, spent about 10 minutes praising her work and said that if all attorneys were as thorough, the immigration backlog would be much smaller. In that moment, I felt proud, relieved, and truly lucky to have her by my side. Thanks to her incredible preparation and dedication, my case went smoothly, and I was granted asylum. I know without a doubt that I couldn't have done it without her. If you have a complicated case or had a bad experience with another attorney, I highly recommend reaching out to Ms. Shautsova. She knows what she's doing and truly cares about her clients.
