Being as we were first-time buyers, and that we were doing a condo closing and not a co-op, the closing process was expensive and intimidating. Also, we were working with a sponsor or developer in a new construction, and they were out to do as little work to the place as possible, accommodate as few of our requests/punchlist, etc. Tim did a great job of not only coordinating with their lawyers and getting as much as humanly possible out of these guys, but also kept us up to speed with what was happening, explaining everything very simply along the way. When it came time to go to the closing table, of course last minute items arose with items we could have never anticipated - storage space not according to offering plan, a crack in the floor that came up out of nowhere seemingly, etc. Tim was negotiating until the last moment and even had ammendments to the offering plan written and co-signed that day at the table. He helped us make really tough decisions about what to let go and what to stick to as far as necessary credits, etc. He was great. At the end of the day, we walked away with a good condo at a great cost, rolling our closing costs into the mortgage and getting credits for items in our punchlist that they refused to fix or remedy. Overall we were really pleased with Tim and would certainly recommend him to anyone as a lawyer in generally, but especially with our specific experience with regard to real estate closings.
