few years back i went for Mr Hollender for consultation, knowing real well that my income, would not allow me to file chapter 7, but taking a second opinion doesn't hurt. i can't say anything negative about the way i was treated..Now i am unemployed and can file but will never think for Mr Hollender to hire, and here is why ? Beside the fact he wanted to charge me $5000 to file..he knew very well that i would not qualify , and he kept pitching over and over again to retain him for $500, trying to make me believe he has to examine my situation to see if i can qualify. What he didn't know that I had been to a different lawyer before him, and this lawyer was honest enough, once he he knew my income, he told me straight..i have no shot for filing chapter 7. My husband and I used the services of Mr. Hollander. After a thorough free initial evaluation of our case, we decided to proceed with chapter 7. We were given a reasonable payment plan with an option of having the payments debited from our bank account. We had to pay half the cost of the case $3000 before we could meet with the paralegal assigned to our case. This gave us plenty of time to gather the documents we needed for that first meeting. Most of the interaction until your court date takes place between you and the paralegal. The person assigned to us was very knowledgeable, promptly returned phone calls and explained every step of the process. After we paid the fees in full, our court date was set.
