Bottom Line: Gabriel Katzner does outstanding work. My wife and I were looking to overhaul and upgrade our estate plan from a simple will to something more comprehensive as we were approaching the birth of our first child. We are both professionals but with no legal expertise, so we wanted someone who was knowledgeable and would take the time to explain our options, answer all our questions, and be flexible with scheduling appointments. Gabe exceeded all our expectations. Not only did he do all of that, but he set up videoconference meetings as schedules were challenging and it was tough for my wife to mobilize to a midtown office in her third trimester. He took his time to answer all our questions and set up an estate plan that worked for us. Beyond this, he was very punctual with replies by email and phone, made himself available to answer any ongoing questions, and has continued to help with transitioning assets, etc. into the new estate plan. In my previous experience in similar situations, I have found that there are additional costs or hourly fees with the transition process after the initial consultation. There were absolutely no hidden costs with Gabe, and I think most telling is that he has continues to provide help and guidance with the estate and asset transition well after the "check has cleared", even with odd situations that require drafting of another quick document or two. I spoke to a receptionist on Friday afternoon and inquired if Gabriel would be able to help. She stated yes. After figuring out what was available and what time would work for me, I choose the 1:30 pm time slot. I was booked for a "30 minute meeting with a client concierge" on 7/12/21. A few minutes later I received an invite for 7/12/21 appointment. On the same email I was instructed I must fill out the "client concierge meeting intake or my meeting would be canceled". I received 3 additional emails from Gabriel the same afternoon reminding me that I was scheduled for a 30 min meeting on 7/12/21 and how it was imperative I fill out the intake form. I didn't have time to fill it out on Friday but did complete the form on Saturday. On Saturday, I received 2 more emails again reminding me of my appointment for 7/12/21 at 1:30pm and that if I didn't fill out the intake form my meeting would be "rescheduled". Same thing on Sunday, I received 2 more annoying emails. On Monday morning, same reminder. I checked my email at noon on 7/12/21 and to my surprise I received an email from Gabriel stating my 1:30pm telephonic meeting was canceled because "I'm certainly not in the business of turning away potential business but this isn't something we're going to be a good fit for." Gabriel finally got around to reading what I had filled out on the intake form and then sent out an email at 10:43am on 7/12/21 that he couldn't assist. That was so rude and selfish to cancel in that manner. Clearly Gabriel only values his own time and doesn't respect his potential client's time. I was bombarded with 9 emails from Friday afternoon till Monday about this much anticipated 1:30pm telephonic meeting and how important it was that I fill out the intake form. You wasted a lot of my time Gabriel. I had to rearrange my schedule to accommodate for the "30 min client concierge meeting" which never came to fruition. Please keep in mind, your clients are busy people too. We might not be a lawyer like you but our time is valuable and important as well. read more
