My primary physician referred me after I have experienced sleeping challenges the last 6 months…read more Met with Dr. Kumaran. She recommended an at-home sleep study. She said I need to stop in between 1 and 4 pm the day before our next appointment to pick up the device to use that night - and bring it to the office the next day for the appointment with her to read the results. OK. I run a business and make appointments with our clients. I arrived at their office to find a waiting room full of patients. When I said I was there to pick up a device for that evening, she asked me to take a seat. I then said I'm just here to pick up a device, to which she replied so are they. There are many people in front of you and it will take a minimum of 30 to 40 minutes before you go back. I declined since I was told by Dr. Kumaran to stop by and pick one up. She failed to say spend your entire afternoon waiting. I had an appointment with one of my clients I had to attend. We made an appointment for the next week. Then the following week they called and said the doctor had to reschedule due to an emergency out of the office. Ok. A week later I was scheduled to come in for an appointment with her, so I called a few days before and asked if I should come in to pick up the device to monitor the night before the appointment. The lady put me on hold, checked, and said no. Just come in. When I was seen by Dr. Kumaran, she basically accused me of causing the problem with no test results because I would not stay for instructions on how to use the test unit. What? I reminded her that (a) she said I just needed to stop in between 1 and 4 and pick up the unit, (b) she cancelled the next appointment, and (c) I called to ask if I can come in to pick one up the day before and was told I don't have to. Dr. Kumaran was argumentative, didn't listen to my comments or questions, and I left basically waiting another month to start everything all over again. My partner was with me every time, including in the room, and even he was shocked at her demeanor. I have asked my primary if he can refer me to another pulmonary sleep practice. When he does I will cancel with this one. Save yourself the angst, delay and feeling as though you are being pushed into wearing one of the horrible C-pap machines.

2 days agoNew-Edit Delete After meeting with Dr. Calahan, I…read morehad high hopes that I found a practice that would be everything "it" said it would be when I had my initial visit. Nothing could be further than what I experienced. From telling me how 'great' AeroCare is supporting their practice/patients to letting me know they have a 'dedicated' internal staff/team to work out any and all 'kinks' for the patient/customer to quick resolutions to issues - I didn't experience any of it. While "G" was on vacation for several weeks, I was told one of two people would follow-up in his stead and quickly. After two messages over a three week timeframe to the stand-ins, I received no follow-up whatsoever until "G" had returned from vacation. Additionally, during this same 4 - 5 week time period, I requested the set-up protochols for the patient portal, twice. I called the practice today (for a third time for this same issue) to inquire and I had to call another number for "SUPPORT". I was forced to leave another message which I have no confidence it will be returned in a timely fashion. After three weeks into my "quest" to get re-supplied for my CPAP supplies, I placed my order with the AeroCare account person supporting this practice two weeks ago. I reviewed my needs and emphasized that I required MEDIUM masks, NOT small ones that I was previously supplied. All six masks I received from AeroCare were all SMALL. Looking for my 'late' order, I placed another call the AeroCare in an attempt to track my order since I had received no shipping confirmation from AeroCare. The CSR told me that there was no record of me ordering since 9/24. I asked her how that is possible. I politely told her that I was going to disconnect the call. THEN, the shipment arrives today, the day after I was told there was no order in their system. All six masks I received from AeroCare (today) were all SMALL. I hope someone at Northside Pulmonary, Sleep Medicine cares enough that they will quickly right the sinking customer service ship (I experienced) and be eventually known for superior customer service versus what seems to me quite the opposite. Customer NO service will not provide a long-term benefit to the practice nor patients/customers. I elected to write a review in this type of forum because I still do not have access, nor received an access link to get patient portal privileges - after three plus weeks.

He was diagnosed and treated by a very reputable Atlanta Gastroenterologist. He was not making much progress after several months and had to withdraw from school as he could not function well enough to attend a full-time schedule. It was in desperation that we consulted another physician, Paul Rabinowitz, MD with Atlanta Asthma and Allergy Consultants. Dr Rabinowitz is not only very personable, he takes his time and thoroughly Listens as he Relates exceedingly well to his patients; he practices Exceptional Patient Advocacy. He also is very familiar with EOE which is virtually unknown to many other MDs and up-to-now, has no Proven cure. After much prayer and following Dr Rabinowitz's protocol, my son is making Marked improvements. He is no longer nauseated and vomiting daily. He is Thriving physically and now has Hope! Today we are reducing the steroidal treatments and along with his Allergy shots, will eventually wean completely off treatments! Dr Rabinowitz is Refreshing and Thinks " Outside the Box". We will Forever be Grateful for as my son credits Dr Rabinowitz with " Giving Back his Life and Giving Us Hope!" What more could Any physician do for his/ her patient? We are Very... Very Appreciative to Dr Rabinowitz. If for Any reason you need an Allergist... we Highly recommend Dr Rabinowitz.
