The atmosphere is nice but I've never had a more questionable drink experience.
Menu lists wines from 4-8 euros in price. Not that unusual. Have no idea what the quality is since I can't recognize the names. I order a 4 euro wine. On the bill, it is 8. I ask about this since it was clearly 4 on the menu, and normally if they are going to have different prices for .1 and .2 they... you know... list the prices. Or specify how BIG it is on the page. Because I assume if you have ONE price, you give THAT size as standard.
The reply: "Oh! It's very standard here to do that, sorry!"
To which I said, "I've lived here for three years, this is not standard, places always list the sizes and charge you what the menu actually says!"
The reply THEN was, "well maybe they ran out of space on the menu" which seems like a real problem for a restaurant to run into.
Like... come on. It's not like I have an issue paying for what I buy. But your menu is deliberately misleading, all other places listing ONE price would at least ask you, "do you want .1 or .2?" or say "that is the price for .1, but would you like .2?" etc. Like... I've been to literally a bar around the corner that charges the same amount for .2, so it's not like the price alone is some alert to what the size is "supposed" to be.
So just FYI if you plan on going here: if you order wine, be wary, because they haven't had time to print up more menu to make the prices clear!
(to be fair to them: the waiter offered for me to pay "what I felt was right" once it was clear I wasn't just shrugging it off like the other girl [who had the same experience as me, and was also confused by the price, so it wasn't just me]. But I paid 8 because it's not so much the money as the principle of the thing, and how much it sucks to end a fairly nice experience feeling like you've been scammed on the bill) read more
