Midwest is huge, and they move "product" for an impressive "cash flow". The PT's have, I would estimate between 3-5 patients pipelined at any one time. I would "do the stairs", and have to almost stand in line to ask what to do next, because the pipeline got a bit clogged. I had two bad experiences of note: the worst - I had pain which I felt was not what I read about online, and very localized, and alot worse than expected - so I point to the spot, and ask the PT what he thought. He because aggressive/angry and said, and I quote here because I will never forget, "Why do *YOU PEOPLE* always think it is not supposed to hurt?", and paraphrasing now, "they cut out your knee, and pound metal things into your bones, of course it hurts". To this day I am ashamed of myself for not just getting up, and leaving, because there are other places to go. The second worst - one day, after PT, I was in the waiting room for a dr appt, and a therapist came out looking for me, and told me that somebody told him that my insurance was up, and I should call my insurance company. That was the end of my PT. there was no talking about a plan for me going forward, what I should do, expect, nothing, for the thousands and thousands of dollars that joined that ever-moving stream, called the "cash flow". Be Advised - if you do call your insurance about the PT insurance running out, they say stuff about 30 days or something, where some council of elders ... by that time, you joint will be stuck solid, with zero recourse.

He wasn't able to pull up MRI in the room. Stated I had a torn brevis tendon and had 2 options, surgery or a cast. I got the impression he was leaning toward surgery but I opted for the cast. The plan was to remove cast every 2 weeks and check in with him. Cast was removed on July 14. I saw his PA. She was so dismissive. She told me, well I don't know why you're swelling is so bad maybe you should see neurology. She then stated maybe I have lupus go see rheumatology or pain management, this isn't an Ortho case. I was shocked! Lupus, I have no symptoms of Lupus. What happen to the surgery option that Dr Lin recommend only 2 weeks ago? No answer. My MRI radiology report clearly indicts a brevis tear and come to find out after getting second opinion the MRI radiology report indicates a stress fracture. I have reached out to Dr Lin's office multiple times to ask why would surgery be offered one week then pulled off the table 2 weeks later, no response. I then contacted the director of operations, Jason, we had 2 pleasant calls. He reached out to Dr Lins office, but that yielded no response at all. My third call to Jason follow up regarding Dr Lin not calling me back yet went unanswered. I spent 6 weeks trying to get someone to call me back, so at this point I'm leaving this review. I would never recommend him or his team. Such a cruel way to treat a person with a tear and stress fracture. Patients deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. Clearly not something Dr Lin practices.

After acupuncture, physical therapy, pain medicines, and cortisone related epidural shots which did not touch the pain and 5 doctors later, I saw a friend of mine who I had not seen in over 15 years in a Jewel store. She asked how my husband was doing. I mentioned that he, at this point WE, have been suffering with pain for almost a year in his right hip, thigh and back area. She mentioned that she had experienced similar pain and that she had a hip replacement which was done by Dr. Scott Sporer. Note, she was dancing in the aisle in Jewel, and after getting the contact information from her I went directly home, not finishing my grocery shopping, and called his office immediately. After explaining what was going on with my husband and that I needed an appointment right away, his scheduler Angie got us an appointment a few weeks later. I did a count down until that day came, which was on Valentine's day. I love Dr. Sporer! He was thorough in his examination, patient, listened and explained everything. Mind you I had every MRI, and x ray, the actual images on discs, lab work and progress notes that had been taken over the months. However, upon arrival an x-ray was taken at Dr. Sporer's office and it was agreed that the joint was bone on bone in the right hip. Although my husband also has arthritis throughout his joints, Dr Sporer explained to us my husband's options which included right hip replacement. My husband agreed that surgery was his choice at this point. Dr. Sporer asked when you would like surgery, and my husband immediately stated tomorrow! This was my husband who was previously afraid of having surgery but, at this point, the pain was unbearable and he wanted it addressed immediately, so did I! The surgery was performed in March and was a success, and slightly over 5 weeks later, my husband who prior to surgery could not stand up straight without making old folks pain sounds, and I were in Los Cabos where we both thanked God, relaxed, and my husband was in little and mostly no pain. Please note that follow-up with Katherine Olsen PA-C, the PT team with Caitlyn Jaraczewski and the follow-up with Dr. Sporer and continuing your PT is critical for full recovery. When looking for a hip replacement surgeon look no further, Dr. Scott Sporer is the one and he brings with him a Team of physicians, nurses, technicians, a real Team, to see you through your journey to a better life. Thanks Dr. Sporer for giving me my husband back!!!!!

In March 2020, I first visited with an Illinois Bone & Joint orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Taizoon Baxamusa, who was of a strong opinion that I totally wait until I am 100% retired to have either thumb carpometacarpal (CMC) joint arthroplasty, and that he preferred to only provide one annual cortisone shot to an arthritic hand condition, because multiple cortisone shots could lead to a unrepairable rupture of one's hand ligaments. Although I respected Dr. Baxamusa's opinion, I believed I needed to speak to another reputable hand surgeon, thus my choice of treating with Dr. Simcock. Dr. Simcock did explain that he believed (generally speaking) that three cortisone shots per hand were reasonable and can be safely performed. I had my original cortisone shot by Dr. Baxamusa in March 2020, and my second cortisone shot (for my right hand) with Dr. Simcock at my September 2020 visit. My right hand has more arthritic damage than my left hand, although both my hands have simultaneous achiness and pain. I had returned to have a cortisone shot in my left hand in October. I like Dr. Simcock's professional demeanor and confidence and knowledge as a hand surgeon specialist. I have scheduled my right thumb carpometacarpal (CMC) joint arthroplasty with Dr. Simcock for early January 2021.

They didn't work AT ALL, I told him that and said I'm ready for the surgery. He told me to make an appointment at a later date, and that's when him and his secretary completely ghosted me. They "left multiple notes" for the doctor to get back to me, they "left multiple notes" for his secretary, Wendy, and I never heard anything back from them. I was just left to suffer. So yeah, screw you for that. I will say he was very skillful with his injections. I was very nervous about them, but they went very well. This isn't in his control, but his waiting room was awful to be in. Filled with old people staring at me and whispering to each other about me, "she's too young to be here" "she's too young to have back issues." that's some REALLY dumb shit to say. Young doesn't = healthy... Yall are too fucking old to be that dumb.

The hernia was about 10 mm which is huge relative to the space your spinal cord and Dura need and was pressing directly on the spinal cord. After reviewing the MRIs, I was advised urgent surgery was needed. Since I could see the progression and was living with the scary negative trend with my leg strength, waning, I was eager for the surgery. Dr. Lopez told my wife after the surgery that every aspect of the surgery went better than he had anticipated and that he knew I was better already. I was able to walk out of the hospital same day and was so grateful for a reversal of what could've been a dire situation. Although I still have some lingering neurologic sensations in my legs. This is not unusual as nerves can heal at very different rates, but I can say after five months I am nearly back to normal, my experience with Midwest orthopedics, Dr. Lopez and his staff has been nothing but positive. During the investigation of my spine, it was also duly noted that I will likely need ACDF surgery as well and I have symptoms of severe radiculopathy. I have scheduled surgery with Dr Lopez and have all the confidence that my outcome will be outstanding as it was for my thoracic spine surgery. I included a picture of the surgical site the day after my surgery. A life changing surgery through such a small opening. I did feel like I wanted an opportunity to review my cervical MRI results and get a better understanding of why surgery was indicated and so I made an appointment with Dr. Lopez and had this discussion,-and decided to move forward with the surgery. I found him very helpful and accessible.

You know there are longer Wait timesbecause of training new people and not having Enough staff. I never posted this follow up but it's been a few months and am feeling things can get better if staff really listens to requests and our concerns and I really think a mandated patient community meeting would be helpful to address the concerns issues and problems. I also think that the new Policies and procedures should be provided to patients in writing yearly even if nothing is new but just so everyone can basically "cta " clinic and patients alike. It's not that hard....he'll give me the new documentation I'll type it up for free and symetria can make a copy for each client to sign for file and one to keep. I also think peer specialist should be brought back in. Not ! Counselor but someone who's been there is successful can help with continuing sobriety and encourage patients to educate help with services available meetings and just general support a Counselor may not understand like a peer specialist who's been there done that. Soft landing looked at the whole body addiction destroys and having the massage and acupuncture helped as a Natural anxiety reduction along with helping depression. I used to look forward getting up and being at opening 430 or 500 the first couple years. But those first years are what made me a very stable compliant patient and when I made the shocking call it was almost like I was ruining Symetrias success rate. I'm not going into all details. It fractured the relationship in many different areas of ? Treatment. While it's now under a new director and new medical in clinic I do believe they are trying to change for the better. There are definitely worse clinics amd Symetria has many good things about it just be aware of all rules Policies etc so no problems arise. And please suggest anything you'd like to see changed or something you might feel beneficial. Nothing changes unless it's brought to their attention. Bad or good don't be afraid to say how you feel or what concerns you have. Your in charge of your treatment. They provide the service .
