When I first started to come here they didn't really have that much competition except for Binny's but even at the time Binny's was out the way and usually the more expensive option. (Now I work two blocks from them :| ) I have notice certain unpopular bottles with dust on it but on the other hand I've tried a lot of stuff that was new to me because of this place. Price wise I never really felt they were overpriced... I think Jewel's, target, kind of places might have a deeper discount during the holiday, but on the flip side they don't have the variety of options you get when coming here.

So I have never gone in despite waking past at least once a week. Yesterday, someone invited me for a beer at Poor Phil's, which was closed at the time, so they changed the location to The Beer Shop, not realizing my dog issue. I was feeling brave, so I went in! Thankfully, no allergic reaction. There was only one small dog there while I was there, about 30 minutes, and the dog only walked by once, while leashed. A few tables with kids playing board games. A few folks at the bar. I really dug the vibe, and if it was pet-free, I'd totally come here more often! The bartender was super duper friendly, really cool. I got a cider on tap, and there were non-alcohol options as well, even saw a canned Diet Coke- my favorite!! I realize I'm not their ideal customer, with my dog challenges. If you have a dog, this looks to be the perfect spot for you! I wish I could visit again, but I think I'll pass as dogs barking indoors make me startle, cry, and flee. But I had a good experience yesterday.
