This place is not good for long term storage nor do they care about their long term customers. I have been renting a unit here for nearly 20 years and have paid astronomical amounts. When this place was Lake Region storage it was so much better but now they raise the rent every other month is just ridiculous. Sadly what they offer is unavailable anywhere else around so it's like they got a monopoly or something. It would be nice if they could get the gate fixed and the holes in the fence repaired though for the amount of units on property and the ridiculous rates they're charging one would think the premises would be more secure. read more

I requested to have a storage unit as of December 2024. In this time I have had 3 rate increases by October 2025. By far the most ridiculous thing I have heard of. The location in Duluth MN is understaffed. While the manager is trying the best he can with what he has. There is zero support or integrity from the district manager and above. I went in to pay only to find out the facility was not open on Saturday due to understaffing. I find out my rate increased for a 3rd time. I dispute it since its not legal and I was never notified nor did I agree to the increase. I would have moved my items out if this was the case. The manager sent a request to have the rate reduced which it did a little bit. They are still trying to charge me the rate increase that I ever agreed to or was notified about. I search my emails and all I have are the monthly invoices and the receipts of payment. No acknowledgement of any increases. Would not recommend this facility at all ever. read more

So I used this location in the summer of 2021 when I moved to Duluth, it was excellent, rated 5 Stars. I'm not sure if it's the same owners, think not, it has gone downhill. I needed to rent a space as I'm now moving out of state. They had a very inflexible payment system, told me I could only rent until the last day of the month (today), then I could only renew for 5 days or the entire month. Well, weird, they claim it's now an "industry standard", okay, but not really fair even if others do the same thing. The person I talked to, brown hair, medium height, probably ZT, I do not want to misgender so won't share their status. I taught high school for over 30 years and have a brother who is neurodivergent, I understood this talking to them. This morning I went early for initial load-in of things I've packed about 90 minutes before staff comes on. Got my stuff upstairs, and the unlocked space I rented is jammed tight, I cannot get into it!! Have to wait for staff to come on, drove to nearby KwikTrip for coffee and a newspaper, come back, 45 minutes lost waiting. When I see ZT enter, I walk over and tell them the problem. They say, Oh, you need to push down hard on the handle at the bottom and the air vacuum (?) will break and it will open. I went and tried, it worked, wish it had been told to me prior. So ZT comes upstairs to check, sees I got in, promptly lies to me and insults me!! "Oh, I told you when I showed you." No, not true, had I been told the problem never would have happened, just walks away from me not taking any responsibility, seemed to imply I am mentally disabled, which is not true. The other person working there, bright red hair, was helpful in paying for the next month, professional. Avoid ZT if you can, this treatment was abusive. Blaming a victim is never a good look. read more
