The biggest help for me was the test taking tips. It wasn't just about reviewing the content, he showed us how to think through the questions, manage our time, and avoid second guessing ourselves. Mac really focuses on the areas that matter most and breaks down tricky concepts so they're easier to remember. I left feeling a lot more confident and less overwhelmed about the exam. If you're preparing for your real estate test, I definitely recommend taking his crash course. It made a big difference for me.

An "Advanced Darkroom" class was just about to start; however, I had pretty much no experience with…read morefilm photography or darkroom processes. Andrew Hall, the owner, and operator of The School of Light offered to teach me one-on-one during a weekend workshop to make sure I was fully prepared and confident for the advanced darkroom class. In a weekend, my world changed. I learned the art and mechanics of film photography, sharpened my perspectives for light and shadow, processed my own film, and developed my own prints. Nothing is quite as exciting as watching your photograph come to life, or as empowering as knowing you have full creative control in the darkroom. Low and behold, I was fully equipped for the advanced class - which was nothing short of magnificent. Andrew is incredibly friendly, passionate, patient, engaging, inspiring, a true artist with a wealth of expertise, and an exceptional instructor for your journey into the darkroom. I've since taken numerous classes at SoL and continue to expand my creativity into exotic and uncharted realms. The people who attend Andrew's workshops are just as friendly and likeminded as you. Everyone gets along and encourages each other; it's indeed a splendid place.

Since then I've been regularly developing film at home and making darkroom prints at SoL "print nights," where he opens up the darkroom to former students. More than just a well-equipped darkroom, Andrew's photographic experience is an incredible resource for Los Angeles photographers. Not only that, almost everyone I've met at print nights is equally passionate and excited about the creative process and makes the whole experience outstanding.

Upper floor housed some offices, main floor had the small grill and large dining hall, and the basement had the original Traddies, Mexican joint and the rotisserie chicken join. Ronald Tutor Campus Center is all that plus more. More offices, more study spaces, more eateries, a way bigger Traddies. All these things packaged in a picturesque design. This place is awesome and definitely worthy of people's tuition. Only thing I dislike are the amount of damn bikes that litter the entrance.

Laura doesn't just tell you what you're supposed to do or what the book says, she tells you WHY, which helps embed it into your brain. These types of classes are not something you want to "memorize" - you want to be knowledgeable in your approach and understand why you're doing what you're doing when you're trying to save someone's life!!! I will not go anywhere else EVER again!! Another plus - if you need to take a class last minute, she will do her best to accommodate you in the class you want. I think Landmark Education is either a LOVE IT or HATE IT situation. There are people I know that…read morewill agree with me, and other friends that absolutely swear by the good that Landmark does, and continues to do, for their life. What I am about to say is no different than the methods of EST, SUMMIT, LIFESPRINGS, etc. And, since it is founded by a former leader of EST - it's no surprise that it is similar in many ways. Also, if you conduct your own google search, you'll find a mix of the wonderful things they've done, as well as many legal actions filed or accusations. You'll find everything said from Brainwashing, to cruel, to harsh, to even blamed for suicide, etc etc. It's a major financial commitment to take the first course ($700/$1000), and it's a majorly intensive workshop. Lead by a brilliant orator, it's very inviting in its premise, and cleverly enticing to make changes to your life. The first night had a couple of hundred students in attendance, and a large staff of both paid and volunteers (advancing/current students). It's fun, emotional for some, and kind of exciting as stories are told of successes and lives transformed. Students, of course, at all different levels of readiness and emotions, are led voluntarily to share at the mic. Others are skeptical and reluctant, maybe shy, to open up. Day 2 gets more interesting, and unfortunately, alarming. Tactics are used to break you down. Starting with the first few people that shared openly and quickly, who were all very emotional. The leader just blasting them, yelling at them -- all very vulnerable souls. It also raises the brow for a handful of people (maybe 25%) -- that led to a feeling of brainwashing. Relentless pounding at nice people with major problems, until they would take ownership for bad things that may have happened to them in their life. It was very hard and uncomfortable to watch, and sit as either an active or passive participant. At a lunch period, several of us gathered to discuss what was happening, and we shared in the uncomfortable feelings we had. So much so, 4 of us planned to escape at a break -- knowing that we had to resort to a quick exit or be chastised or jumped on to try and talk us out of it. Day 3 was not going to get me, nor was I going to continue to witness demeaning practices against the very vulnerable. These are master manipulators for some of us, and others -- exactly the right dose of hard instruction. So in the end, it's a chance you take with any investment -- this one, for yourself. For others that I know, they love it and have advanced thru numerous other classes and instruction, certifications, and goals of leading in the future. As for me, absolutely no way.

I took the Landmark Forum over 10 years ago and it was truly impactful. However, after interacting…read morewith Landmark over the years I have come to the conclusion this is a highly damaging organization who preys - often with good intentions - on vulnerable people. It intentionally uses peer pressure and questionable tactics to make people spend more and more in Landmark courses; it is absolutely NOT trauma informed and can in some cases traumatize and re traumatize participants. The program will not refund you money if you have a bad experience (you might be able to get a credit to use for another course) and the staff will always push Landmark as the solution to ALL your problems. My last experience with a Landmark leader was so bad, I complained and got nowhere. It completely turned me off to this organization for life and rang a 5-fire alarm. I have studied and interacted with many self development modalities, and while there are some good things in Landmark's approach, they do not outweigh the risk of you feeling worse and ending up traumatized from taking a Landmark program. Avoid Landmark, and open up to other more gentle and trauma-informed coaching or healing modalities. There is a lot out there, whether you are looking for a group program or an individual experience. I am sorry to say that after all these years, I feel strongly that people need to be warned about and dissuaded from taking part in any activity organized and run by Landmark.

It's amateur-ish passing itself as professional because of it's access; Gary Shussett may be a nice man but his pitching critiques were worthless. If you pay for something worthwhile here, it's access which, in the seminar I signed up for, you don't truly get. I have heard better stories from others but my first hand experience was awful. I would NEVER go back and I would NEVER recommend them. Good luck!
