I made an appointment with the Passport Services here. As a first time passport applicant, I was SO…read morenervous. Not sure why, but I was having those "DMV" feelings, where you go and will likely forget something. When I got their for my 12:30 appointment I was given papers to fill out and the staff was friendly. When I completed my papers and 12:30 came the clerk was super sweet. She knew I was nervous and eased all my worries and was thorough going through the paperwork and assessing my needs. We opted to expedite the passports as our trip was just outside the 10-12 week range. While there was some assurance it would arrive in time, we didn't want to risk it. A women walked in 20 minutes late for her appointment and she was told to reschedule. My husband also was 5 minutes late for his appointment and was told to reschedule so DO NOT miss your appointment, come early and wait otherwise you'll have to come back. I normally dread these types of appointments, but I had a really great experience with both the clerks and the service. They're not a lot of passport offices in Omaha, but I do recommend this one.

I give big props to the African American women and the white man who work in the passport center…read morethey are very knowledgeable and you can tell they can do their jobs in their sleep but because they have been doing it for a while they are very rude and don't let you speak they cut you off or speak to you like you should know about these things. I know I have not been the only person that experience this treatment, it's 90. % percent of their customers. These both individuals really need to practice on what is to provide great customer service and to be respectful and learn to listen( proper communication/ etiquette). I'm also positive that these individuals don't get consequences from either the manager or district manager because they continue to get away with their hostile behavior that creates a hostile environment for their costumers and people still have to go their because they do not have a choice.

I had received notice that an amazon package of mine was "undeliverable" so instead of waiting on hold for an hour on the phone for a representative (yes, that is the actual amount of time the automated voice quoted me) decided to hop in my car and drive to this location to ask someone at the desk what was going on. At 12-1 pm, on a weekday, I expect more than one worker at the counter. Nope. Just one, friendly, but overwhelmed guy who probably has to deal with the lunch rush alone way more often than he should have to. I dully waited for 15 mins before going to the counter. He helped me locate the package and told me it was on the truck for delivery that day (doh!) and I left satisfied that at least I knew where the package was and what the status was. The line piled to 10 people behind me though as he went to search the warehouse for my request. Sigh. I gave them an apologetic smile while exiting. Will things ever be brisk and efficient for a visit to USPS? Maybe not.

It's odd, how easy it is to degrade an organization or a person online, I get it freedom of speech, regardless of which human(s) are impacted. Somone's spouse or son, father, no one is off limits. I've worked those countries were we are followed and every conversation is listened to, it's not a secret. I love our freedom. I'm grateful that we haven't experienced major set backs in city wide services, sure snow piles up, but I get my mail. While serving this country, I've been to so many other country's where you have to pray for mail. Other times no mail will come to your home, you wait for someone flying in or out to be kind enough to get packages to your parents thousands of miles away off the beaten path. It's a good idea to ask questions about what you need before you plan to start the process. William gave me the forms I needed the day before so I filled them out at home. Some people do the process online, but I wasn't able to figure out where the forms were online. I already had my picture so I didn't need to do that. Add in some expertise at the process on the part of William, and the papers are in the mail.

One of the clerks worked with me to find the best way to ship, under media mail, and kept the costs as low as she could (spoiler they've gone up!) I like how friendly and efficient this post office is. I have since shipped out many book orders and even some clothing returns here. It's my favorite and I'd prefer this than going to Hyvee to ship the same thing
