As far as I can tell one woman runs the whole show here. Because of that there's almost always a line, but she's great as her job so it moves fairly quickly. Despite the lack of manpower this is a full service retail location, not merely a pickup/dropoff point. You can ship packages anywhere in the world, buy money orders and stamps etc. The line can get long, especially right before the 12:45 shutdown. If all you're doing is dropping off a pre-labeled package, you might want to consider the 21st and Leavenworth location.

Thankfully, the Post Office at 16th and Farnam is a refreshing change from these stereotypes! The two regular employees are incredibly friendly and helpful, and they get to know their regulars, which I really appreciate. Tammy in particular is always super cheerful. They also move the line along as quickly as possible, and are always apologetic if things drag (not necessary, but appreciated!). Furthermore, any time I've had questions or been uncertain about they best way to ship something, they've always cheerfully offered helpful suggestions. My only criticism is that they have relatively short hours, and are not open on Saturdays. This means I either need to slip out of work or go to to a different post office when I want to ship something. Personally, I'd rather play hooky from work than go somewhere else.

writing less than positive reviews is never fun…read more i had a package rerouted to this post office after i realized the original shipping address was incorrect. i went in today to pick it up after getting notified it was ready. they were slammed which is understandable and i'll never dock a place for being busy. the customer service i received was honestly, terrible. the lady helping me was very rude and it just kind of left a bad taste in my mouth. if i have to visit a USPS location in the future, i will probably choose a different location. i sincerely hope the USPS gets the support they deserve and i know COVID gas been hard on them, but a little kindness goes a long way! happy holidays yelpers!

The worker helping her was SO sweet and friendly and professional. Then comes out another employee, scowl on her face, comes to the front, frowns harder, walks away, comes back, tells the lady they can't process more than 12 boxes at a time, especially around lunchtime. When it was pointed out that it was 3pm, she said well this is our lunch time. The lady had to ask if they could process the rest since there was only 2 left, and the employee paused and sighed and said yes. It kind of felt like a made up policy... it was kind of hilarious since it wasn't happening to me.

Instead of lines going out the door, there is ample room inside for long lines, which there always seems to be at a post office. I recently took two items in to be altered. The first one was a simple uniform shirt that needed an American flag sewn on the sleeve. Sounds pretty easy, doesn't it. Well, I thought so too. It was not. I explained I needed the short back in 6 days because I needed to travel to Des Moines with ot for an event in 8 days. Not a problem, I was assured. I went in 6 days later to retrieve the shirt, as I was promised, and it was for some reason not done. OK. It can happen. I explained I needed the shirt for certain the next day as I was leaving in the morning of the next day. The counter person assured me it would be done by 3:00. OK. No problem. I went back the next day, and as you might have guessed, the shirt was not ready at 3:00. She assured me that if I came back at 5:00 it would be finished. I returned at 5:00, and lo and behold, it was complete, but she had sewn the wrong flag on it. She was apologetic after I pointed this out and asked me to take a seat while she made the correction. OK. I sat down. A few minutes later, she returned with the shirt, but the flag was horribly crooked. This was an easy piece of work, because the flag sits nearly directly on top of a seam! Just line it up with the seam! Once again, I sat down while she took the shirt back to correct her error. She returned after a short while with the shirt, and there was glue spread all over the place. Apparently, beneath the old patch, had been glue, which was now both on the shirt, and on the new flag. She did not see an issue with this when I pointed it out, but she did once again take the shirt back again, to see if she could use the steamer to remove the glue. She returned it to me about 10 minutes later, and while most of the glue was now off of the shirt, there was still a rather large blob of glue obscuring part of the flag. I told her OK, I would take it, and when I got home I steamed that glue from it so it at least looked presentable. She did offer to comp the job for all the issues, but I refused and paid her. Nobody should work for free. OK, second item. My second item was a Revolutionary War uniform coat. It was expensive and made for me a few years ago. Due to recent weight loss, it needed to be altered. When I went to get my shirt, and got increasingly annoyed waiting, I did ask for my uniform coat back. I said I did not trust them to get it done right, and that I would take it elsewhere. I was informed my coat was not there, and that he seamstress had taken it home since it was such an involved job. OK. No problem. I left with just my glue-covered shirt. I waited a few days to call to check on my coat, and was told on a Thursday, that they did not know the status, since it was still at the seamstress's home, but I was assured I would get a call the next day, Friday, with a status. This was by the lady who had screwed my shirt up, but I held out confidence that she would be able to competently check into this, and call me back the next day. Of course, she did not. Big surprise. I called back Monday and was aggravated at her for not calling me back. I expressed my frustration, and she assured me should would ASAP and call me right back. She actually did return my call in short order to PROMISE me the coat would be done in 3 more days. In 3 days, I called before making another fruitless trip, and was informed that now the seamstress need an additional 4 days. At that point I drove to the shop, and demanded my coat be returned to me. I had not given permission for anyone to remove my coat from the building, and I was sick of waiting. I even offered to go pick the coat up from wherever the seamstress had secreted it. I was assured a call would be made to get my coat returned. A gentleman called me, he might be the owner or manager of Maple Tailors and we discussed the debacle. He made no attempt to defend this lousy customer service, and was quite apologetic. He assured me the coat would be there the next day. Somehow, magically, the coat that could not be completed, was completed that night. Perhaps it was done by fairies or angels, I do not know. It was done correctly, which very much surprised me. I half expected there to only be 1 arm or something, but everything was fine. I paid my bill, $133, and left. I am glad it was done, but I will never return. It is a shame because I was a loyal customer for around 10 years. Go up the street to Jack's tailors for far less hassle!
